Edward Fox has been around forever, we found them because they shot my mother and father in laws wedding decades ago. That experience shows. They offer a very professional but relaxed and flexible experience. Christian Yah and Ali were our photographers, both were phenomenal and really added to our special day. Christian is incredibly easy to work with and made us feel comfortable throughout, and that's from someone who is socially anxious. There was a great back and forth of our ideas and how they can be shot. Day of he was super efficient, we were ahead of schedule most of the time without feeling rushed. He also worked well with all of our guests from toddlers to my 97 year old grandmother. We have loved going through all the photos, so many fantastic shots. read more

My last pregnancy occurred over 10 years ago, and that world, in regards to social media, was different. I never even thought of doing a maternity photoshoot back then nor did I have an idea that they existed. Fast forward to present day, in a covid world, where your entertainment is a bit limited, especially when your a socially distant pregnant mama, I wanted to do something special to remember these times. There are so many options in choosing a photographer, so how did I choose? Well I found these guys on a Moms group in Facebook, believe it or not. The marketing manager reached out to me with their package deal and it was within my budget, and the location was close by. Other maternity packages are enough to take all your stimulus money and leave you broke!! Communication was all via chat and Kim was prompt in responding to all my questions and request. The day of the shoot was awesome. It went seamlessly in their studio, and Chris the photographer was a pro. I had ideas on certain poses and boy did he make it happen! He made us all feel like stars. OMG!!! I just opened my family photos taken on Sunday (4 days ago), and am in shock at how perfect every single image turned out! I've done family photos every year, and have never been as ecstatic as I am right now. From beginning to end, scheduling, pricing, photographer, location, everything was seamless! Kim was the first to respond to my message via facebook, being a working mom of 2, I am not always great at responding. We were able to set something up sooner than I expected, and our photographer David was amazing! The locations he picked out were perfect, and he was great at engaging with my 2 and 4 year olds to get them smiling and excited for the entire photo session, which lasted almost 90 minutes! Just got married Aug. 25., I emailed the company a couple days later to see about how long I would have to wait to view my pictures and received an email promptly from the vice president of edward fox saying 4-6 wks. I patiently waited 6 wks and 2 days later to email and call for a follow up. Again, received an email from the vp promptly saying another 2-3 days the latest. Mr. J. Bucci is awesome. With all the competition going on, and with all the fees due at different times (deposit, 50% due a month before the wedding, 25% due when pictures are online, and 50% due when ordering, blah blah blah)... My husband and I were ALWAYS on time with the CASH payments we've made thus far and find it ridiculous for the extended wait! Brides to be! WARNING!!! Please take this as a warning! If your consultant or person who answers your call is Linda, ASK FOR SOMEONE ELSE! Thank goodness I only dealt with her two times (too many). I called to inquire about the eta of my pictures and her response? "Well, we've been busy this season". NOT a response I want to hear after shelling out almost $4,000! She is sarcastic, not helpful, obviously hates her job and seems burned out. CHANGE YOUR JOB! If I could go back in time, would I have chosen this company? No. But, it is what it is. One star: our photographer was super nice Two stars: pictures turned out ok, definitely not almost $4,000 worth. Third star: Mr. Bucci and the staff (EXCEPT Linda) are nice-although Mr. Bucci never replied to my email complaint regarding Linda. Hmm :( read more

Ya know, when it comes to picking a wedding photographer, we thought that going with someone who was well established and was sort of a "Chicago institution" would be a good idea. From the get go, we had good feelings about Edward Fox, as it really felt like they had a good grasp on who we were and what we were looking for. It was one less thing we had to worry about and we thought we were going to be satisfied. Flash forward to a few days before the wedding, the photographer calls my wife and doesn't really take the time to talk about anything important, just set a meet up time and place and then rushed her off the phone. Now, by no means are we hipsters. We don't need crazy angular photographs that utilize excessive amounts of negative space. We appreciate art, but we're not "artsy," but we are non-traditional and our wedding was very clearly that. The fact that the wedding party was primarily punks, a couple of goths and indie-rock types, the photographer had a lot to work with. A LOT. But he chose to sort of "phone it in." He basically rushed through a lot of standard poses and was done with the post-ceremony photographs rather quickly, despite the fact that we had our ceremony in a very beautiful and scenic location, we could have done a lot more than he was willing to do. At the reception, he rushed through the important stuff and bolted. When we got the proofs, the photos were nice and basic, but not really what we had hoped for. We were hoping for something fun and exciting and something that really reflected who we are. That being said, the album we put together was really nice, but we had to struggle to get shots that we felt strongly about. Add the fact that we got married in June and didn't get out album until December, we weren't very happy with Edward Fox. We expressed out dissatisfaction and the woman we spoke to was really nice and very apologetic and not only gave us a really good price break, she threw in the DVD with all of the digital proofs for free. I would not pay the money for this company regardless of name and how long they've been in business. Read to find out why... I have to say I was quite dissatisfied with the result of my pictures. I was hoping with the number of years they were around I would get what I wanted. But alas, after spending an hour on the phone with the photographer (the day before the wedding because they don't call any earlier) I still did not get what I asked for. The worst, my sister was very ill and couldn't make it to the pictures. She did make the ceremony although you wouldn't know it, as there are only 2 pictures of her. In addition, I expect more photos. There were only 350. My brother-in-law took 450 and we didn't pay him a crazy amount of money. The photographer was with us for 10 hours and that is all we got. And mind you, that is not 350 different photos. Many are repeats. I also found many of the employees rude. When I called to explain my dislike for the photos. I was told that they were good photos and maybe I just didn't know what I was looking at. read more

When I was growing up my Grandmother had three Communion photos above her plastic covered couch (which is another story for another day) that all said Edward Fox in the corner. My mother and father's wedding photos said Edward Fox, including the laminated wallet size ones. (which was either the thing to do back then or my parents were very misguided..,..or perhaps they were trying to match my Grandma's couch) ANYWAYS--all the photos I saw growing up said Edward Fox Studios on them. My family even had a story they would tell...when my mother, her sister and brother were all young they were posing for a family photo. In walks in one of the members of the family that owns it and says his name is Dick which makes all three kids giggle hystericaly.... I never thought I would use them for my wedding photos but after looking on-line and pricing people out I decided I would. So I went there to look at different books to choose which of their photographers would work best for what we were looking for....and in walks in an older gentleman and introduces himself as Dick..hand to god...true story.. Anyways..we chose them and asked to do a mixture of black and white & color and photojournalism style. I couldn't be happier. I have a photo up at work and people literally gasp when they see it. It looks like it should be in a wedding magazine and my wedding album is to die for. I will definitley be taking my own kids there for photos! read more

Edward Fox has been around for 105 years and by recommendation of a good friend of mine, we came in here on a cold afternoon to check it out. I had seen her wedding photos and they came out beautifully so I was definitely excited to see what kind of package deal they could offer us. They have that neat sculpture outside and their door is very unique and I almost passed it up because I didn't realize that it was a door. First of all, we got to meet the owner and he took us on a tour of the whole studio and the experience was pretty neat. The lady that we met with was very informative and it was good to know that before they send any photographer out on the field, a photographer not only goes out on photo shoots as a backup photographer, goes through wedding photography classes teaching about lighting, angles, techniques, etc. The photos were very clear and sharp - as we were going through some proofs, we didn't really see any that were blurry or out of focus or crooked - definitely very impressed. However, with that great quality comes a hefty price. Don't get me wrong - their prices are very reasonable for the quality that they provide but in the end, it's just a bit above our budget which is one thing that I'm not changing on. If pictures mean a great deal to you and you're willing to splurge on that, Edward Fox looks to be a great deal! read more

I was referred to EFP by my wedding coordinator. I worked with Michele who was initially great at explaining the packages, at following up and at being very patient. However, after I gave her my credit card number all hell broke loose. I asked her not to charge anything ($300 deposit) before I chose a photographer that I loved. Much to my surprise, the next day I see an $825 charge on the card. I was annoyed because 1) that was not the agreed upon deposit amount 2) I hated all the photographers portfolios that she sent me and 3) there was no signed contract in place. Of all my vendors (banquet hall, DJ, transportation, etc) I was never required to put down any money without a signed contract so I thought this was pretty strange. I spoke with Michele again and asked her for more portfolios which she did provide. I did not like those either. Then she started to ignore my emails and calls until my fiance had to make a call. After that, the GM called and promised our money back and apologized for the inconvenience. ONE MONTH LATER: no money returned. The fiance called the main office and asked why the $825 had not been processed. She apologized and a week later we finally got our money back. Way too long of a wait for someone that's trying to plan a wedding with a million other expenses. All in all, would not use this company for any future events because some of their practices are a bit shady. I would describe this company as "the Britney"--so much potential but ended up being a complete disaster. read more

We used Edward Fox for our wedding in April. I was very happy with our photographer David Loeb. He made taking pictures so much fun and they all turned out great! Highly recommended. However, working with the staff in the office is extremely frustrating. They are not at all helpful and it seems as if none of them are on the same page. I dread having to call there, because I know I will not get a straight answer. I can't wait until our album is finally finished and I don't have to call or go there again. read more

I decided to use Edward Fox for my wedding because they were in business for so long. I was told when I signed the contract that I would be able to meet and see my photographers work before the wedding. That was a lie. I called several times before my wedding. I wanting to find out who the photographer would be and they would just tell me to call back it was too soon. I did not find out who the photographer would be until 3 days before my wedding when I was going to my rehearsal dinner. By then it was too late to do anything. I do not recommend this. You definately want to see your photographers work. My photographers call was to ask me to the addresses needed, questions about bridal party size and what kind of pictures I wanted. I asked for specific pictures and I did not get them. Many of my pictures came out blurry and looked very dark. I was so unhappy with my pictures I did not finalize my order until almost a year later. I ended up paying close to $4,000.00 for pictures I picked up on my anniversary then stored them away. I have not looked at them since picking them up and I do not have one single picture on my walls. I am very upset. My photographer was an older man and my pictures look every old fashioned and staged. I had to send my invite and my program to the studio so they could photograph them. I wanted them in my album and no pictures like that were taken. I also asked if how many pictures were purchased by my guests and I was never given an answer. You are supposed to get credit for the amount of pictures your guest purchase. You can just forget about that. I would not recommend Edward Fox. The pictures were overpriced and very basic. When you are sitting the in waiting room you see photos and hope yours will look like them. None of my pictures looked like the ones on the walls or in the books. If you can imagine a worst-case scenario for day-of wedding photography, that's exactly what my wife and I received from Edward Fox. We got married in October (proofs mailed mid-November). As we went through the DVD, we kept waiting to see a single picture that we actually liked. It never happened! Every shot was overexposed, far too many were out of focus, subjects were framed poorly, eyesores were left in the background (and sometimes the foreground), poses were unnatural, key moments missed, and countless more unforgiveable errors that should not be committed by any professional photographer armed with a minimal level of skill. I had even directly asked the photographer if he could take a picture of our cake before it was brought to the kitchen to be cut, and he instead took 3 close-up shots of the icing (no joke). Based on the poor quality of the images, it's doubtful our photographer even knew how to operate his camera. (The pictures our guests took with their phones turned out better!) That he failed to make the right decisions in capturing a moment in time that can never be recreated is inexcusable. Moreover, our complaints to the company's vice president have been met with little more than a shrug and half-hearted apology. Part of patronizing any business is the option of remuneration if the services rendered are unsatisfactory--i.e., mending a broken contract. Yet this simple fact seems to be lost on their management. Unless you want to risk having unusable photographs taken of your special day, losing those memories forever, DO NOT give your business to Edward Fox Photography. read more

When I researched Edward Fox I found them to be a well known name and provided good services. I sat down with Marcia and discussed packaged for my wedding album before my wedding. I agreed to a digital package sight unseen. The photographer called me a week before my wedding. I played phone tag with him about 4 times before we able to connect. The week before my wedding was hectic. He was on time, professional and over good. After the wedding- We got married in Nov 06. It is now 7 months after my wedding. The proofs came back in about 3 months. We ordered pictures from the proofs in April, it is now June. We were never told the digital wedding album would take 20 weeks to complete. I have yet to receive the pictures I ordered in April. My digital proof has been received for review. That came before the pictures I ordered! Mary-the customer service manager is EXCELLENT. She seems to be the only one that knows what is going on. Marcia was also very helpful in helping picking out the PROPER pictures to go in the wedding album as I needed help. The first family pictures we took didn't turn out. We still don't know why. Dick (owner) was nice enough to offer a free 5x7 to us. I guess I am just disappointed it is taking this long in receiving our pictures of our day. We were misinformed. read more

David was great at pulling different people into photos and capturing candid shots as well. He made everyone laugh throughout the event, and I will cherish these photos forever. I would HIGHLY recommend David for any event, especially one as special as wedding or engagement as he really captured all of the special moments. read more

Chicago Brides: do yourselves a favor and hire Jenny Fontaine to photograph your wedding. You won't be sorry! Jenny is beyond talented. I just got a look at my photos and am over the moon!! She has a wonderful personality, and balances being organized and running things on a schedule without being...well...you know. I had a blast with her all day long, and she got along perfectly with my friends and family. Sometimes personalities just don't gel, which can affect how the pictures come out, but she kept everyone laughing and with genuine smiles on their faces. We met with Jenny a few weeks before the wedding, and I have to say, she did literally everything that I asked. Table pictures, getting ready pictures, etc. She also had some amazing ideas about where to go downtown and ended up shooting absolutely marvelous shots. I will be glowing over these pictures for years to come. I could not ask for better pictures or to be happier. read more

If you are searching for inexpensive and average photography, then you have come to the right place! If you want stellar shots, spend the extra money and go with an independent photographer, not a larger company. You will love yourself inthe end. We did make our budget, but it was at a price...we sacrificed by choosing Ed Fox. Our photographer took about 950 images and we had major trouble selection 100 of those images for albums. A lot of images were out of focus. That was a HUGE disappointment. It also took about 6 months to receive the album. One good thing that happened was my wife met another company that offered to print pictures for free at a bridal expo. We sent them about 30 of our images to them and they send back a BEAUTIFUL wedding album faster than Ed Fox. That was FREE OF CHARGE! In our disappointment with our images, they did try to compensate but failed on that end as well. As the other reveiwer stated, am totally disappointed with my pictures and working with Michele in the office is like pulling teeth. I would not reccommend Ed Fox. read more

This review is based exclusively on interaction with the booking staff and *not* with any individual photographer. This had to have been the most bizarre phone call of the year. I called Edward Fox Photography this morning asking for a last minute winter photo shoot for a Christmas card. I knew I was late to the party and wasn't expecting much so when the receptionist told me they would absolutely be able to accommodate my request I was over the moon excited! They are considered a local shop for me so I definitely wanted to support local business - so far so good. I asked about the price and was told it would be $75 for a "mini session" or a 30 min shoot. Great! And then I'd be able to purchase my photos online. Wait. What? I figured I misunderstood and maybe I would be able to purchase prints. Nope. If you want the actual high resolution files - you have to pay extra. So what is the $75 fee for!? Apparently only to cover the photographer's time. "But don't worry" the receptionist said, "we have a special!" So for $199 you get the 30min session AND all the files which take a week to do. Alright... I kind of wish she had started there. Now, I had forgotten to mention that we actually wanted the photos taken at our house which is less than 1 mile from the studio. The fee changed to $299. A little steep. And the next availability on a weekend is December 15. So with a 1 week turn around time I'd have the photos on 12/22 - 2 days before Christmas. Seriously!? Why would you even suggest that!? Otherwise on a weekday the next availability is December 10. So I'd get the photos 5 days before Christmas. 2 very lousy options. So why even bother reviewing this place? Because I felt duped. I felt the entire time during the conversation that I was uncovering 1 half-truth after another. None of these options were ever going to work for me - and had the receptionist taken the time to ASK me questions before jumping to answers that were never going to suit my needs maybe I'd have a different view of them. But as for today - I want this post to serve as a warning: ask ALL the details - no matter how obvious or insignificant - because I would have been sorely burnt had I not asked. read more

Edward Fox is amazing! We have always had the best experiences with them. They did my wedding in April 2008 and our engagement dinner in 2006. They did my husbands cousins wedding in July 2008 and are about to photograph my sisters wedding in December 2008. Tunwa and Andre are so professional and true artists. Each picture has their own qualities we love. They captured moments that we didn't even know were being photographed. Those are the most special candid pictures. They are always on time. Tunwa was early for shooting at my house and I wasn't even ready yet. He waited patiently and then when I was ready clicked away. He has a true eye for detail. My digital album is outstanding. No one can believe it when they see it. It will last forever. I highly recommend the digital album. Their graphic design office is #1. I can't wait to see what they do with my wedding album. Pictage was great. They posted our pictures right away. My entire family ordered pictures and received a copy for free. They swapped them and now have complete albums. The pictures came in a 10 days. Fantastic! I can't speak for all the photographers in the company but we went with John Dowling and he was excellent! He was friendly, professional, and fit right in with our family. The few times I asked him to take a picture of a certain things he always responded: already did... he was on top of it! [We wanted a slightly more traditional look with our pictures (with a few fun ones) so if you're looking for that new "artsy" photo I would try someone else.] We got to see the pictures today for the first time and they look perfect. Good variety, backgrounds were great, lighting, angles, etc- couldn't ask for anything better. His experience definitely shows. Administration/customer service has been fine for us- probably would give them a 4.5/5 stars only because I have dealt with (very few) other companies who go above and beyond perfect, so I want to save the 5/5 for them. We haven't had our album printed yet either so I can't speak for that. But overall very very happy with the service. Thanks! read more

I got married in January and had Edward Fox Photography as my exclusive photographers. Everything was fine at the beginning - staff were pleasant and even though the package was quite expensive, I was ready to pay that money because I saw their portfolio and all pictures looked great. Our photographer John and videographer Anthony were awesome. They were on time, professional and it was easy and pleasant to work with them. I loved all of the pictures taken by John and our video made by Tony came out really well. So I would like to thank these two professionals for a great job. Now, the album. It's August already and I still don't have my album! That's ridiculous! First I was waiting patiently after approving the album design in March. I was told that it would take 4-6 weeks to have the order processed, I was ok with that. At some point in June I was contacted by Edward Fox Photography and was informed that there would be a free upgrade on my order because the album I had chosen was no longer manufactured. I was offered a substitution and I was ok about it. So I kept waiting another couple of months and then called to check the status of my order. I was told not to worry as it normally takes 4 month to complete the order. I was a bit shocked (seriously, 4 months to manufacture an album?!) but again, I had no choice and continued waiting patiently. And now in August I receive an email from John Bucci saying that their manufacturer went out of business and that my order will not be completed until I have confirmed a new album style offered at no extra charge. Are you expecting me to pay extra because you are not able to process the order?! Really? Of course it has to be at no extra charge, and I would actually find it appropriate to be offered a discount or some sort of refund because this is not my fault that the manufacturer does not exist any longer. I have made all payments on time and in full and I expect the company to process my order in a quality and timely manner. Ok, after all I want to have my album, so I have confirmed the new style and now I have to wait about 10 weeks because this is their expected turnover time. It is really frustrating not to get what you have been promised. And it is really annoying not to get accurate information on time. It is really not great to call the office and explain several times who you are and what you want and talk to several people who seem to have no idea about what is going on with the order. The office does not return calls promptly, so you have to continue calling until you have found someone helpful. Today my husband and I went to the office to make sure that they have taken our amended order. I do hope that I will have my album in the end and I do hope it will happen before we celebrate our first anniversary. If I had had a chance to choose another vendor, I would have done it. read more

We asked for a photographer who was familiar with the city. We got a photographer who lives in another state and hadn't shot weddings downtown. When we complained (your photographer gets assigned 3 days before the wedding), they told us they didn't have anyone else. Our outdoor family pictures were poorly staged and featured random members of the wedding party in the background. The indoor formal pictures had terrible shadows! And, although the photographer was with us for over 8 hours, there were less than 300 pictures. We struggled to select pictures for our album, which when delivered had a number of pictures with a heavy blue cast. When I called to complain, I was told that the processing was professional, which I guess leaves the photographer to blame. read more

As a bride, you want an amazing photographer. You expect great customer service, an experienced photographer, and great quality, especially from a company who has been in business for over 100 years! When we had our engagement session in studio, we had a great female photographer (don't remember her name, but she's the wife of their famous photographer). Our photos turned out REALLY great and we get so many compliments on them! We were so happy. But our wedding photographer was a complete let down. We thought it was rather strange that we couldn't meet our photographer prior to the wedding day. But since we had a great in-studio experience we didn't question it. We had an older man, Dave, show up and was a bit rude with the wedding party and guests, and was VERY slow. In fact, he made us late to our reception which cost us over $100 in fees with our limo service. He was old-fashioned and amateur. Our pictures came back over-exposed and poorly framed - and yet, we still were expected to pay the high price when we called to complain. My husband, who's a cinematographer, and I experienced a mix of anger and extreme disappointment. My husband went into Ed Fox and went through the problems of nearly every picture with the staff and thankfully backed us out of the expensive package we originally had in our contract. My husband had to color correct a lot of the pictures himself and/or instruct staff how to do it. More than a year after the wedding, we got our album. I'm glad we finally worked everything out, but it is an experience I NEVER want to repeat or wish on anyone else! Despite my honest review, I do have to give a shout out to Mary, the customer service manager. She was hands down the best staff person to work with. She was professional, attentive, and made the best out of a bad experience. read more

I urge you not to use Edward Fox for your wedding pictures. I had an absolutely horrible experience with them. The photographer was terrible, he showed up late and the pictures were amateur at best, then they lost my photos for several months and when the album did arrive, they had put the wrong initials on it. In the end it took me over a year and a half to get my photos and they were nothing to brag about. They gave me some money back on the pictures and the proofs, but really, I would have much rather had some decent wedding pictures to hold onto. Below is an email I sent to them which I think explains my experience best: Dear -- I appreciate you placing and expediting the order, again, unfortunately this is not the first time someone has dropped the ball on our orders. Not only did someone previously drop the ball on this specific order, but there have been a series of mistakes, misplacements and unprofessional behavior on the part of the staff at Edward Fox. We were not only displeased with the unprofessional attitude and lack of experience which our photographer exhibited at our wedding (he showed up several hours late, he left the reception and ceremony on numerous occasions and was seen smoking at the bar and because of this he missed very important moments of the day. Additionally, the pictures he did take were blurry and off centered. Furthermore, I had specifically asked for no posed pictures and all of the pictures are posed and ridiculously cheesy, including several of the photographer and his friends who apparently also attended the wedding), but was also unsatisfied when our album was delivered to the Schaumburg location and then misplaced for several weeks. Then, when the album finally did arrive, it came with the wrong initials on it. This has been an ongoing series of frustrating events. We choose Edward Fox because of your long history and reputation in Chicago. Your studio not only photographed my mother in her high school days, but also my grandmother and her family. I expected quality pictures, personal attention, and professional staff. I have been seriously let down and disappointed by my experience with Edward Fox and, unfortunately, this had to happen with my wedding photos, photos that can never be recreated and are forever lost. I hope for the sake of the rest of your customers that the photographer that shot our wedding is no longer working for you, or at least, is no longer handling weddings, which he was clearly unqualified to do. I am soooooo disappointed with my wedding photos. It is the one part of my wedding that, six months later, I am very regretful about. I was so excited to view my photos but they were a huge letdown. They were just very standard nothing artistic. They were of the same quality of those taken by my guests. The photog especially botched pics of me and my husband kissing : he couldn't seem to time it right so it looks like we are biting each other's faces. He also had my father in law pose in such a way that in all our family photos he looks like his arm was amputated. I got a good price which I should have known was too good to be true. I guess you get what you pay for. The only reason I am giving this review 2 stars instead of 1 is because I didn't spend a fortune. This company is not helpful when it comes to albums and prints. The online service is difficult to use and guests had trouble viewing the photos. Our album design looked amateur and like it took all of 5 minutes. It lacked artistry. Oh and they were very deceptive when it came to the engagement photos. Our package said it included an "engagement session". We'll, it turns out that only included actually sitting in the studio, which was an hour away from the office where I booked them. Purchasing each photo would be $150! And it would be in a tacky sears-like studio. They said if we wanted outdoor photos we could go to the "field" (which I am guessing was more like an empty lot) behind the studio. So we don't have any engagements photos at all. I wish I would have had them done so I could have seen that this was a poor photographer and I could have booked someone else. When I requested a meeting with our photographer prior to the wedding (after signing a contract and paying in full) I was told he wouldn't meet me at the office where I signed but instead I would have to drive an hour into the city during work hours and they would charge me $35 to meet with MY photographer! All my other vendors went out of their way to meet with me at a time and location that was convenient for me, the client. This company is lacking In customer service. I've reviewed all of our wedding vendors and unfortunately Edward Fox is the only vendor I would have changed from our entire wedding. Our experience with Edward Fox was unfortunately very disappointing. Let me start with the positives. 1. The office staff, particularly Jenee, is very helpful and accomodating. I enjoyed working with them until our wedding date. 2. Our photographers, Ladio Vasak and Chris Cotes were phenomenal. I enjoyed working with both of them and would work with them independent of Edward Fox any day. They take gorgeous photos and were very professional 3. Our photo proofs were returned to us in a timely fashion and our DVD was sent to our house within 6 weeks of our wedding date. The photos were wonderful. Now for the bad which relates 100% to the album. We met with our album designer in November. I found Pam to be very pushy, she was pushing add-ons to our album and making us feel guilty when we passed on many of them. She was obviously there to make some form of commission on our album and not just to design it - we had already paid for it in our photo package. We finalized our design in November and were told the album would be ready in 4 months. At the end of April I called Edward Fox and asked for a status update; I was told there was a manufacturer's delay and the album would be ready in several weeks. In mid-July I called back, as we had not yet received our album, and left voice mail after voice mail for the general manager, John, to please provide me with an update. After 4 messages he called back and informed me that our album was never ordered and was not yet ready. He explained that Edward Fox failed to order the album back in November, and again in April, and that they failed to a picture to the manufacturer which was needed to complete the album. I asked how Edward Fox would compensate us for this error and he said he'd call the next day to discuss options. He never called back again. I called multiple times, my husband called, my mother called, he never returned any of our calls. Everytime I called I would kindly ask to speak with someone who could help me and was always told that John "just walked in and would call back any minute" or "just stepped out but would call back later". He basically ignored me as he was unwiling to compensate us for the errors of the studio. I would feel less taken advantage of if we were in some way compensated or were treated with respect by him. I am very sorry to provide this review of Edward Fox as I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning of the process with them; however I have to be honest in the review process. I hope I am the outlier as most people seem to have had a very positive experience with them. If you are looking for a photographer I would recommend R.E.M. photography as they are fantastic to work with, provide a product in a timely manner and produce beautiful photos. read more

After interviewing several companies we decided to use Edward Fox for our wedding photography. I give our photographer 5 stars, but I give the office/administrative services 3 stars. Our photographer, Ben N., took amazing pictures (both classic formal pics and more photojournalistic shots). He ran around like crazy with us all day, memorized the names of key family members, took us all over downtown so we could get the pictures we wanted, and got the whole wedding party back to the reception on time. He worked his butt off and the quality of our pictures reflects that. But frankly, I got tired of dealing with the administrative side of this company. They're a large shop and I felt like I was just a number. Calling the office with questions was always a chore because I knew I'd be playing phone tag with our account rep for the next 2 days, and she never remembered anything about my account when I talked to her. They are open late a few days a week, and we did appreciate that we didn't have to take off work early to make our appointments at the office. One tip though... when you sign a contract with them you have to pick your album style/size up front (I think this is a little ridiculous since you have not a clue what your pictures are going to look like in a year when the wedding actually happens). Pick a small, less expensive album! Of course they will let you upgrade and spend more money later, but you cannot change your mind and get a smaller album later on. Plus you have to pay a percentage of that album cost to get your proofs released to you and your guests online, so the bigger the album you picked, the more money you have to pay for your family members to even see your photos. That's the one thing I wish I would've understood better when we signed with them. I certainly don't mind paying the price for the great pictures our photographer took, but don't expect a lot of flexiblity after the wedding. read more

I was pretty disappointed with Edward Fox from the start. My husband had the idea that they were a great value, and in the end, we should have hired someone with a little more street cred. The guy almost missed all of our major moments. If our DJ had not babysat him, he would have not had any of the shots from the big moments of the night. I'm not one to write reviews, however, after dealing with this company, I decided to create an account with Yelp to let others know what they're getting into!!! I made the HUGE mistake of not looking into other wedding photography & video companies. A friend from work who raved about her pictures recommended them and I made the miserable choice of going with them. When you get married, you always want everything to be PERFECT. But, there's always something that goes wrong. Unfortunately, it was the photography company for me. I would like to mention that the photographer-Maria, did an amazing job. I wish she had done more of the photos I printed out as a suggestion from pinterest (like the couple making hearts with their hands or the group jumping with joy lol) but the photos she shot were fabulous. She was fantastic. However, when we went in and paid a ridiculous amount of money for the photographer/the album/the video, I was expecting jaw dropping awesomeness. Well, when we finally went to pick up the photo CD it didn't work!!!!!!! We drove all the way to their studio for nothing!!! We live an hour away! So, we had to call and complain and request another CD. That CD took forever to download and to our surprise, not all the photos downloaded. FRUSTRATING. Anyways, we picked out our pictures for the album and submitted them in, I believe, end of March/April. According to the woman my husband and I spoke to-MICHELLE- the album would be ready in 3-4 months. (That was also mentioned when we made our payment.) From April, I didn't hear anything from them. I had my husband call in July to inquire on the album and he was told that they were running behind and it would be ready in the next month. August passed by, so did September, and finally the first week of October, I called very upset asking for my album. I spoke with Michelle and she told me that the company that makes the albums went OUT OF BUSINESS. WHAT?!??!?? As a business, they should have called, not only me, but every other individual waiting for their album to explain this situation. I was told by Michelle that she wasn't sure when it would be ready but hopefully soon. On October 25th, I finally received a call telling me my album was ready. FINALLY. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to travel to their Milwaukee Ave location and to be honest I don't want to. I've already asked my husband because I am beyond MAD at them. The day I spoke to Michelle I posted on facebook how upset I was/ am and i even forewarned friends who are getting married to STAY AWAY. They should have had the decency to call and inform clients about the company and why it took, SIX months to get my wedding album. I got married last year August and I have yet to see it. They didn't even offer to compensate for the wait or a refund. I had already spoken to an Attorney to deal with them. AND the video was a joke. When people ask to see the video I always say I can't find it or that it got lost when we moved. I was getting sick watching it because it moves so much!!!!! And they added the same photos at the end....of random people at the wedding! Not classy at all. If I could re-do anything, it would be to find a better photography and video company that charges less than the MINUS ONE STAR work they did. Apparently yelp doesn't have a NO STAR option. Please be aware of this company if you're getting married, you might be waiting forever! read more

A month and a week or so has now passed since our big day and I wanted to take a few minutes to explain why Edward Fox earned 5 stars! I researched several photographers before deciding on EF. I like most brides had a million questions and each and every question was answered to my satisfaction... My evening wedding was aboard the Odyssey Yacht at Navy Pier so I was most interested in how we would get all the photos done without tiring out the wedding party. After going through my exhaustive wish list, they made a recommendation for one of their best photographers... Christopher Yah! He was beyond awesome! It was important to us that we have the opportunity to meet with our chosen photographer to make sure there was some kind of chemistry and to more closely review his work. And without fail, Christopher delivered above our expectations with his warm and jovial personality and consummate professionalism. Now on to the best part... we had chosen a few landmark locations to capture photos (Buckingham Fountain, Chicago Theater, The Bean, the Gardens etc...). The Wednesday before the wedding, Christopher called and said he had been watching the weather and thought we should put together a backup plan in the event the rain decided to make a debut. I was once again impressed with his preparedness and advance communication. He put together the backup plan and emailed it to us for approval. Luckily the weather cooperated and our initial plan was executed. The photos are absolutely stunning! He captured the first look, the landmark photos throughout downtown, the ceremony, and the reception. We thoroughly enjoyed him for 10+ hours and it was absolutely the best experience. Not to mention that he had our photos ready for viewing 4 days after wedding!!! I can not say enough abt the responsiveness of Edward Fox and our photographer Christopher Yah! Awful, Awful service for engagement shoot. Andre is a stellar photographer, but once you pay him $500 for the shoot, you cannot afford any of the photographs. Jpgs alone are over $50 each, which is completely ridiculous. They need to lower their prices!!! If you can throw around money for something like this, then go for it. But we were able to afford 1 photo after this shoot. Defeats the whole purpose of the shoot. read more

Yay!! I am such a fan of Edward Fox Photography ... well more specifically the two photographers at Edward Fox who shot my wedding last August - David Loeb and Ali (you can ask for them specifically). David and Ali made our wedding day fun! They were professional and polite, they showed up on time, and they really had good senses of humor. I could see some people calling David a little bossy, but I LOVED him - I saw him as opinionated and determined to get the best shots possible. He was looking out for me and my husband, and our pictures are proof of that! Also, I loved Ali - he was nice, quiet, and I LOVE that Ali showed up in a tuxedo. We had a very classy affair at the Knickerbocker, and I appreciate that he sought to fit in, rather than stick out as an obvious photog. Our pictures are amazing! We had so much fun when we went around the City to get our shots, and I would recommend these two guys to anyone!!! I've seen a few reviews about Edward Fox being "very traditional" and not modern - I think those people must have had other photographers. My favorite picture of the night was taken when at about 9:30 p.m. (mid-reception) David pulled me and my husband aside and said, "let's go outside for a few minutes." I didn't know we were doing this, so at first I was concerned about leaving our guests, but I agreed. Once we got outside, we walked down to Michigan Avenue, ran into the center of the street, and took some amazing photos. We had the lights of Michigan avenue, the lights from the cars coming and going on each side of us, and then David says to my husband, "Dip her, and act like you're biting her, when you do it." I know - this sounds crazy - but it was an AMAZING photo! (and came out very modern). My second favorite picture (of the 1300+ we ended up with) was also taken outside the hotel during that quick late night outing. I would give David and Ali 10 Stars if I could !! However, if I could have given Edward Fox 4 3/4 stars, I would have. The only reason for my reluctance to give a full 5 stars is because of the prices this wonderful photography place charges for prints. I don't think the package deal prices are all that bad, but when we saw how much they charged to order one extra print of a 4x6 picture ... I promise I thought it was a joke. I seriously thought there had to have been a typo and someone accidentally placed the decimal point in the wrong place. But this only really effects my family or friends who want to order prints from Edward Fox directly. I will eventually get all of my pictures - as they came with my package deal. read more

I used Edward Fox for my wedding photos. They were average and very traditional. I have since used them for family pictures out of habit and lack of time to research someone better. The photos are very traditional. If you're looking for something modern, this is not the place. I just attempted to order a copy of my wedding photos that had been ruined, only to find that they had destroyed all my proofs without any notice. They state their policy is to send a letter to notify, but we didn't get a letter or any other communication. They have all of our updated information and just didn't follow their own procedure - and all they can say is "we're sorry". Granted the photos were taken 12 years ago - but it would have been nice to be able to save our proofs or purchase the negatives to avoid this situation. We won't be using them again. read more

My wife Brenda basically expressed how pleased we are with our experience. I must say they were very professional. It really all started cause I absolutely fell in love with their modern albums. I wanted to have something that really stood out. The pictures are what last forever when it is all said and done and I wanted to have something that people look at and think, "Wow, I haven't seen something like this before." Our photographer was great and very personable. He had great ideas for photos and was open to any suggestions we had (like pictures in the snow!). We got a website that hosted our pictures so it was easy for people to check out the pictures and order any. I'm sure you guys will be happy with your pictures if you go with them. You'll pay more than the average photographer, but the quality will show. read more

Would not recommend them!! I worked with Brenda in the Schaumburg office. She was great but that's where it's stops! Our photographer was terrible! Dry sense of humor. Offended many of my bridal party. Did not listen to direction. Kept saying we'd do some pictures that we never got back too. Kept sending people off. I asked specifically for table shots and didn't get any. The pictures don't look like a professional did them. I have a friend whose quality picture as well as video I feel came out better than theirs! I am extremely disappointed! He kept us away much of our wedding and some of the pictures aren't even on there. Pay a little more to get better service. Oh because I now called to complain and all their doing is upgrading our album which is only a 300 value which is stupid since I'm unhappy with the pictures I'm just going to have a bigger album with the pictures I am not happy. Doesn't make sense! Please go elsewhere. This day is supposed to be captured and they will do everything but !! read more

We decided to use Fox as our wedding photographer. I was overall pleased with the service. The pictures are VERY pricey, but for what we got it wasn't too bad. Our photographer arrived on time and we very polite and nice. He took pictures of everything I asked for and got right to work. The thing I loved about him the most was he called the day before and went over everything with me one last time, so there were no surprises. Throughout the day, he took pictures of everything. We got some really great shots of family and friends, and a lot of people even ordered pictures from their website. Another thing I really appreciated about our photographer was that he wasn't overbearing with our pictures. We had time to chat and dance at our reception, we weren't just taking pictures all night like some people do. I was really appreciative of this. He was also very nice to all our guests and took shots of them as they requested. The customer service at Fox studio was great as well. We worked with Jenean (I think that's spelled right), and she was very nice. We went over the contract and what package we wanted to go with, and everything was set. After the wedding, our proofs were done pretty timely. I want to say it was about 4 weeks or so before we got them, but it was worth the wait. Our pictures turned great. I wish there were more un-traditional shots, but I am happy with what we have. We picked out all the photos we wanted for our wedding book, and then went to have a meeting. I cannot remember the womans name who was designing our book, but she was very nice and helpful. It took about 4 months for us to get our book. We love the way it turned out though. Everything was correct, looks great, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. I would recommend Fox for your wedding or special occasion needs. They did a very good job for us and I will use them again in the future. read more
