If I could leave zero stars I would. I had scheduled for someone to come out, they called me that morning and said they had a technician available, however, I was at work until late in the afternoon. I let them know what time I would be home, they said they would make a note. At 4:50pm they called and said they weren't going to make it. They said they would come out the next day (Saturday) but couldn't give me any sort of time frame on when they would come out. They said they would call the next day with a 3-hour window of when they would arrive. No one ever called me and no one showed up. So unprofessional and rude to do that to a customer. I waited all day for them to call. Now I have to try to find a different company to come out and will likely have to miss work all because this shitty company couldn't have the decency to let me know they weren't up for the job. Based on all these other reviews I am glad I didn't give them any of my money. Not sure how this place is even still in business. I contacted this company for garbage disposal and toilet issues and the serviceman did fix the issue for the disposal and was charged fairly. On the issue of my toilets, I was having problem with both of them running. They wanted over 400.00 for fixing it and did not have this so, I elected to have them fixed one. They charged me over 200.00 to take off the rubber flap that covers the drain in the tank whereas I could have paid only 20.00 to fix it myself. My discust was the owner reached out to say that he would get back to me hopefully to rectify this issue of which he did not. I even called to see if there could something to be done. My issue is trust. I expect you to keep your word and as a business person myself. The trust for this company is gone. Our tub was leaking so we called Edwards Plumbing & Heating today. The service fee was $69 dollars. The tub needed new washers. The turnoff was the trump hat and the total cost for repairs and he wanted 2/3 of the cost before completing the work. No company should have their employees political views on display. The young man came on to my house late and with a stinky attitude. Instead of addressing my drain he tried to tell me there was gas coming from one of the rooms in my basement which I was already aware of and had the gas company come out and they said that there was no threat. But instead of accepting it he told me that they ought to check their equipment and that the guy didn't know what he was doing. All I needed was a bolt that was rusted - cut off the toilet. The service person shows up, without the proper tools, wore his sun glasses the whole time, no work uniform. Did not put on shoe coverings and tracked rain wetness all over my floors. He didn't have a wax ring. Or an attachment he needed for his tool. He left for 2 hours to go to Home Depot, which is 15 mins down the road. Told me he was going to have to cut the flange out of the floor for $1500. Then when I questioned him, he said he was wrong and could put the wax ring and put my toilet back for $500. Unprofessional, left my bathroom a mess. Could not provide an itemized bill, scratched my toilet, didn't put the washer back on the toilet bolt. Ridiculous - waste of my time. A 30 min job took him 3.5-4 hours. Edwards installed a lift pump system for our house. I am sorry that I didn't know then what I know now. It was WAY OVERKILL and so expensive. There is an alternative system that would have been appropriate for a single-family dwelling rather than this system for multi-family. Edwards clearly didn't know what they were doing because they installed the system incorrectly and it has given nothing but grief. In particular, they installed two pumps, which are both wrecked after only 3 years of operation. The pumps were supposed to be staged where one pump was connected to one float to turn on when the level in the system was rising. If necessary, then a second float at a higher level would turn on the 2nd pump only when needed. The floats were separate from the pumps and continually got tangled up and alarms would go off all the time. We finally disconnected the alarm because it was constant. The consultant, who provided service for free, does this kind of work often and advised us to get pumps that have integral floats and to stage the pumps at different heights. This is a kind of system that should be robust and need very little maintenance. We are having to replace the pumps and floats and replumb the whole system at a cost of $1500 just in the equipment. Very disappointed. We hired Edwards for other work and then found out this was needed. If they don't know how to do it, then pass on the work. We got royally screwed by Edwards. read more

Called for a drip in my tub. When I took a shower, the knob started leaking. When they came back out, replaced the same knob and a shower head. Then the basement valves started leaking. They used my wash clothes to clean up their caulking and toss in the trash. They chipped my bathtub. They cut a larger hole in my wall to repair the shower head. They took my finished bathtub panel. They had leave multiple times to get parts. Then they took all my parts including the new ones I purchased the first time to charge me more. They don't clean up their work. It is hard to write a review when you are on the schedule for 2 days, no one ever shows up, and you keep getting pushed to the next day and the next day. What a 1st impression - NO, DO NOT GO WITH THEM! I needed to have my Drain snaked out so I scheduled with James who was nice. James shared that the Technician was on a job but would come out after that. I told them after 3:30 PM which they said was fine. Around 6:15 PM, I heard nothing so called and talked to Michael who was pleasant and looked into it - the Technician needs to come tomorrow and will put me on the schedule for the morning. I shared with Michael that out of courtesy someone should have called to tell me that the Technician would not be able to make it and not have me waiting. The next day, the morning passed, and no call (I was supposed to be on the schedule for the morning). That afternoon, I received a call that the Technician was still on a job but would be out after that. Later, that day, I received another call that the Technician would not make it out so will move me to the next day. After that, I told them "Please remove me from the schedule" because I had been waiting and apparently no one was available and I will look elsewhere. Again, not a good 1st impression at all! Their Service Manager was rude and not willing to explain nor correct the real issue. My calls were avoided. I had Callers from Thailand call set up a service call, and the service/repair people never showed up. This problem started n March of 2021 and still exists in September of 2021. I would never use them again. I would not waste my money. Some of their service people were courteous as they could be, but, they were under the rule of their supervisor, and could go no further. I have to agree with most others that did not give them a good review. And he said he needed to find the clean out so he could snake the pipes, but he never looked for the clean out, and then said he was going to snake it through my laundry tub. I asked if I could have a discount for all the water and snow He left in my house and he said, they were new shoes lol what's that supposed to mean. I didn't feel confident in anything he was doing or saying so I told him I was not gonna hire him to do anything. I did pay the service call. I never got a receipt he told me I would be emailed the receipt but I was never asked for my email when I scheduled the appointment. Having this person come out, I decided to look him up in the licensing bureau of Michigan and the person they sent out Jordan Biskner has an expired plumbers apprentice license that expired in May 2023. Do not let these people in your house. I think it's a scam to get $69 from people. As many have written, this company is a complete scam. I asked for an estimate to repair a spray hose for my kitchen sink. The tech told me the whole faucet would have to be replaced for a cost of $450 +. In addition I asked for an estimate on a toilet repair and the quote was also close to $535. Plus $69.00 for a service call to assess the issue. I have called Handyman Pro for an estimate on the job. As an update to my original comments in this review. Having received a quote of from Handypro.com (which they came to the house and did for free). I found that the statement that entire faucet would have to be replaced from Edward P&H was a LIE! Handyman Pro agreed it was only the sprayer. I engaged them to purchase and install the sprayer, and it did in fact resolve the issue. They ordered the sprayer and completed the sprayer replacement job. In addition they installed my new backup sump pump battery for a whopping total price of $144.00 including the price of the sprayer. This verified my contention that Edward Plumbing and Heating is not a reputable company. The technician they sent straight out lied! Horrible, horrible, horrible service. 2 guys came to my house to snake my drain which is the only drain they had to snake and broke their snake cord into our drain cause more damage than what it is. One guy is name William Klandrud and the other guy was his assistant. They told me and my family that they broke it into our pipes. Next thing you know, they were on the phone and left out of my house without saying anything of what they we're gonna do to fix it or anything, no call back, no show, not anything. I've called the company 6 or 7 times to get the help I need and none of the representatives I talked to which was only one person that answered the phone even tried to come up with a solution and claim she tried to get in touch with the manager and the manager name Tony and he never called back or anything. The customer representative that I talked to was Jen. I've been having a hard time with them and the manager to get any good service from them and Tony Grote who was talking in the background, blamed me for the snake cord that William broke into my drain while I was on the phone talking directly to Violet and not too long ago sent me an email saying I owe $7,000 for a drain that's only clogged from grease that was not my fault cause my family and I have only been here which makes today a month and I have proof that I've been here a month and expect me to pay for a damage that one of the so called plumbers caused in my home. This company are not of honest people, bad reputation, bad representation and I did contact the president and CEO of the Edwards Plumbing and Heating to discuss the issue that needs to be taken care of and if nothing improves with the company and the reviews of countless complaints from other customers soon, I hope you guys shut down completely and stop sending people who look like they know what they're doing to people homes and actually send professionals who have high quality experiences to peoples home. read more

To be fair I am giving 1 star for customer service: refusing to give me an itemized bill, refusing to tell me what they actually charged me for the labor, or the hot water heater, or what their "flat fee" that I was told they charge to 'all' clients was, and being charged $3000 for replacement of a 50 gallon tank. The actual plumbing work so far seems fine. My complaint is I believe I was ripped off, I told them this numerous times, all I want is to know what the itemization of my bill is which came to $3,000. I've found the hot water heater they installed online ranging from $800-$1300 (yes this includes local big box stores), so even if they paid top dollar (which they refuse to tell me what they paid or charged me for) AND if they charged me $1000 for labor (they also refuse to tell me what they charged for labor, they only keep telling me that they charge all their customers a "flat service fee" but they won't tell me what that is either) then that comes to $2300, where's the extra $700 going they charged me? They won't tell me. After 5 phone calls by me to them over 6 weeks (the job was done on 8/20/18) 4 calls ending up with the dispatch manager Jen or Jan or something like that, and two promises from her that she would discuss my issue with the General Manager and he would assuredly get back to me, I still have no idea how I was possibly charged $3,000 to replace a 50 gallon hot water heater that sells for $800-$1300. The back story if you care: I had my hot water heater go out on Monday morning 8/20 as I was getting ready for work. I called several places but Edwards was the first one that could be out same day. They told me it's a flat rate over the phone for the service call (I had to shut water off to the whole house because the inlet to the water heater was seized so I didn't think to ask what that fee was at the time) and the plumber would determine what repair or replacement needed to be done. The plumber was here a total of about 3-4 hours, but he also left 2 different times that I know of, once for about 45-60 minutes so I don't know if that was lunch or what. He was friendly and courteous, he did not explain or detail any charges to me or give me any estimate during the time he was here other than say, it'd be about $3000. I was shocked that it cost so much but at the same time, the water to my house was shut off, my hot water heater was broken, I had had to take off work for the day already, and I had spent over an hour calling other plumbers to come fix it and they were the first ones that could do it same day. So I reluctantly agreed to the charge but asked about a billing statement, he said they don't do paper anymore, it's all by email. I thought ok, fine, at least I'll see what all went to this $3000 charge and if something is funny maybe I can dispute it later. I've called about once a week since trying to get the inspection scheduled and trying to at least be verbally told what I was charged in labor and for the hot water heater. I've been put through to the "dispatch supervisor" Jen or whatever her name is 4 times (she also indicated she is the one responsible for arranging the city inspections) told her my concerns and belief I was ripped off especially when I find the cost of the tank ranges from $800-$1300 so what did they charge for labor? She assured me at least on 2 separate occasions she would personally speak to the General Manager about my concerns and would ask him to call me to discuss it. The last call I made to them was over a week ago, today is 10/6/18, I've still heard nothing. I'm just throwing out the $1000 in labor estimate, I have no idea what the actual labor cost. But assuming that figure and the cost of the tank, I was presumably overcharged by $700-$1200. So bear this in mind potential customers. If I knew then what I know now, I'd have toughed it out another day and waited for another plumbing company to come out. read more

Very pleasant and professional, finished the job and went out of his way to leave to get the part and come back to finish the job. However, I opted for an email receipt which came but it did not have a breakdown of costs just the total that I paid. What company doesn't give a breakdown of costs to the customer? This was Tuesday May 23 and It's Thursday now and I have been requesting an itemized receipt since Tuesday, because the water heater company will reimburse the parts. I have been told it has to go to accounting, I have also been told that the man that handles the receipts is really busy. I have asked to speak to a manager and was told they will have him call me. I had a new washer and dryer delivered, and when they were being installed, we found an issue with our gas line. Our previous dryer had been broken for a while, so we needed prompt service. I called several places, and couldn't get anyone out quickly. We called Edward's out and they were were available next day. Great, I thought. The technician arrived right at the time he was supposed to. I showed him what was wrong, and he came up with a pretty simple solution. He was going to remove the old flexible copper line that was tapped into the main gas line, add a new flexible black pipe, and install a shutoff valve. From the valve, he would attach another flex line into the dryer. Pretty easy. He said he was going to go out to the truck to come up with a price. He came back and told me $385.00. I was shocked. I asked why it was so high, and he said the fittings are very expensive. Because we couldn't get anyone else out within 2 weeks, I told him to go ahead (I realize this is expensive, but I trusted that I wasn't getting ripped off). He did all of the work in less than an hour. Turned the dryer on and everything worked great! I paid the technician and he left. Then, still in disbelief as to how much I paid, I took pictures of all the parts (the flex pipe, a couple fittings, and the shutoff valve) and looked at prices online. The parts came to a total of around $50. The service fee for Edwards to come out was $60. So, unless labor costs $275 an hour, I am thoroughly confused and disappointed I was charged so much. I am very happy with the service, but I definitely got ripped off. I will never use Edwards again, and I'd suggest before having them do any work to your home, get a few other quotes first. I called Edwards plumbing to install a pedestal sink in the bathroom of my home. To say the work was done unsatisfactorily is an understatement. The sink (top portion of the pedestal) was not mounted to the wall. The drain line leaked severely, and grout was EVERYWHERE which in turn damaged the finish on my BRAND-NEW sink. After multiple visits the work was finally completed to my satisfaction but that was after extensive damage to the bathroom and an adjacent bedroom's wall. On top of all of this I was overcharged for the job in excess of the original price quote. After being promised that the additional charges would be refunded by their supervisor Tony Grote, the refund was never sent without an explanation.
