Yes, this a lengthy review but there was no other way to convey the extent of the misconduct and incompetence without telling the full story. In January, Edwards Heating & Air came to perform a regularly scheduled preventative maintenance check. The tech completed the service and said that everything was working well, and his report stated, "changed filter checked capacitors heat strips amp draws pressures and defrost." Our unit had been working well so this was what I was expecting from this visit. The following morning, I woke up to the unit being loud and not heating. The same technician who did the maintenance check arrived, and I explained the issue. He stated, "It was working fine when I left. I guess we can try to switch out your thermostat and see if that fixes it." I questioned if a thermostat could cause the system to make this noise, and he stated, "A bad thermostat can cause all kinds of things." I agreed to have the thermostat replaced, which he did. I asked him to show me how to use it, and he referred me to the user manual. I asked how we would know if this fixed the problem, and he responded, "It's fixed, I can hear it running." He only stayed long enough for me to pay for the new thermostat, not long enough to see if it would heat the house. Two hours later, the house has still not warmed by one degree. I called Edwards back and explained the situation. Initially, I was told that someone could come out the following day, but after explaining that the unit had worked perfectly fine prior to the scheduled maintenance, but now there was no heat, a different tech was scheduled to come out in the afternoon. Late that afternoon, another tech arrived. He proceeded to check the pressures and detected a major restriction in the heat pump. When questioned how it would be possible that we had perfect pressures one day prior and now have a major restriction the answer was that it must be a coincidence. The options presented to fix the problem now were: 1. Try to blow out the system and clear the restriction for a total of $1617.00 or 2. Replace the whole system. A new Carrier Heat pump was $8351.00. We decided to go with the first option. The tech spent several hours attempting to clear the restriction but was unable to, leaving us with the only option the replace the whole system. After voicing our disbelief and frustration, they agreed to subtract $1617.00 from $8351.00 for the new heat pump. Due to freezing temperatures in January, we were instructed to run our current heat pump on emergency heat until we had the new one installed. The technician assured us that we would be contacted the next morning to set up the appointment for installation. When I called Edwards midmorning the following day to set up the appointment, I was told they would have to order the unit and this could take up to a week. Once again, I explained my situation and voiced my frustration. Soon thereafter I got a call back to schedule the installation for the next day. Three technicians arrived the following morning and started the installation. At 4:30 p.m., we were told that the control board on the new outside unit was not working. Edwards assured us that they would come out first thing the next morning to replace the control board. The next morning, I received a voicemail that a technician would arrive sometime between 12 and 1 pm. At this time, I called the service manager, Zach, back to remind him of our situation and my expectation to have the issue fixed as soon as possible. I also asked about a backup plan if this did not resolve the problem. He reassured me that this would fix it, and if it didn't, he would personally pick up a new unit and make sure it was installed that day. The technician arrived and replaced the board. The unit still did not work. I received a call from a different manager explaining that the new outside unit would have to be replaced. He stated, "If we order it today, we could install it on Monday, (four days later)." I let him know that the service manager, Zach, had mentioned that he would be able to pick up a unit and we could have it installed today. An additional technician arrived with a new unit, and it was installed that evening. At the beginning of May, I arrived home from work and found the AC not working. Our new HVAC company came out promptly and found that Edwards had hooked up the drain line incorrectly causing the coil to leak water to the low side of the pan not allowing proper flow. That is not the end of it. Three weeks later, I turned the AC down from 73 to 70 degrees, and a few minutes later a large amount of water started pouring out of the air vent in the ceiling closest to the air handler in the attic. I turned the AC off, and the water stopped coming out. Our HVAC company came out the following morning. At this time, they found evaporator coil was installed upside down in the new inside unit located in the attic causing condensation to splash into the return airduct. read more

I had a great experience with this company. My air went out at about 9PM. I called their 24 hour service and notified them that I needed someone out the next day. I received a return phone call when they opened and they had someone out within an hour of my call back. The Tech "James" was very courteous, knowledgeable, and provided me with tips on keeping my units running well. He was able to restore my air in less than an hour. Had a bad experience a few months ago. Tech came on a Friday to charge two units. He added a pound to one unit. He started on the next unit and then said the unit was taking too long. He had to go. We paid him appx $350. He seemed irritated when he left that he was just supposed to charge two units, but more needed to be done - like we were supposed to know. I received a call message from the company saying the tech would return Monday morning. I called to confirm Friday afternoon. Only got an answering service. Called again Saturday to confirm with the same service. My wife stayed home from work Monday morning- only to find out they scheduled another call on Monday. So I was out $350, still no complete repair from a pissed-off tech who left the job early and didn't return when promised after my wife taking off work. What jerks! Beware! After NOT hearing back from another competitor after our AC went out the night of 6/13/15, I decided to call Edwards Heating and Air in Acworth...What a difference in companies!! It was a weekend service call and was a little bit more in price, but we didn't care. The heat was stifling and we needed something done...Enter David, the technician. SUPER NICE guy!!! He had me hold the phone up to the AC unit fan outside and immediately said what he thought it might be. Exactly what it was when he arrived! He gave us a 30 min heads up phone call to tell us that he was on his way. Arrived on time and was very efficient in his work. We had Edwards Heating and Air to our home for diagnostics on the AC Unit to get it running. Here is the techs diagnostics: LEFT WITH NO AC STILL 1.have the TXV in the Handler replaced, system is overcharged and trying to compensate for bad TXV causing compressor to bypass pressure within itself. 2.Need to flush lines with nitrogen to be sure there is no restriction, 3.Liquid line filter needs replaced needs to be at coil per carriers recommendation. 4.Plenum is not sealed to air handler and the trunk line is lined duct but is missing the liner over the air handler so it needs insulated. 5.No Disconnect to service air handler and this is required by code. Quote Total: $1194.00 Had another Company come out. Diagnostics: System was overcharged and also had a small leak on the refrigerant line at condenser. Removed refrigerant and soldered connection on liquid line. Both heating and cooling were checked. Pumped system in down and evacuated to 500 Microns. Patched bare spot on the line set with Armaflex at air handler. AC IS WORKING GREAT!!! TOTAL COST $250.00 Called Edwards and requested a refund and they said it was the manager that came out and he wouldn't be wrong. NO REFUND! My question is why did this company not see these problems and try to fix it while out here for a $85.00 Charge??? BEWARE BEWARE!!! read more

If my wife and I could give six stars to Edwards, we certainly would. Great customer service is defined by not meeting the customers expectations, but exceeding it. In all instances, Edwards exceeded our expectations of their service. After comparing four bids, we chose Edwards for a total replacement of our HVAC system. The installation was complicated due to the size of our home and an addition that was added after the house was built. Dustin (the owner) took personal charge of making sure we were happy with the final results visiting the house several times during the installation, as well as corresponding via text and email frequently. His crews were incredible. We got to know each of them by name and could not have asked for a friendlier more respectful group of people. Jesse, Mike, Shane thank you! After the initial installation, we had to make some adjustments (to be expected) and Dustin refused to accept payment from us until everything was completed. He still wouldn't accept payment until after we had the system working for over a week to make sure it was doing everything to our satisfaction. After the installation, Shane also called to see how things were going. After our experience with Edwards, we look forward to using them anytime in the future we have HVAC needs and will have all regular maintenance services performed by them. If you are looking to replace, repair, or just do regular service to your existing system, we cannot recommend Edwards highly enough. Allow them to exceed your expectations.
