We had a new HVAC unit installed last year, and recently received the 1 year checkup service that was part of Edwin Stipe's original contract. Just over a week later, we developed a leak that showed up in our kitchen, but was coming from the vent pipe into which the AC's condensate line emptied. It turns out that the connection there was substandard, and while it was not apparently their work - they tapped into the existing condensate line from the unit they replaced - they still repaired the connection, free of charge to us. The technician doing the checkup service had found a loose joint where the condensate pipe exited the HVAC unit and reglued it. It was my feeling that it was their responsibility to ensure when they installed the new unit that it would drain properly, and additionally that it was possible if not likely that in gluing the one end of the pipe, the checkup tech loosened the other. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I sent the Edwin Stipe office the following message of gratitude for their excellent customer service: Your tech Sebastian just left our house, and the juncture between the condensate line and the riser is now much, much better. You can see around the entire pipe entering the riser to ensure the seal around it is complete. He added a zip tie with a hole for a screw which, now secured to the attic floor, will prevent any vibrations from the HVAC unit from wiggling the silicone loose. I am pretty confident we have solved this issue, and that I can replace the sheet rock I removed in the kitchen soon. Sebastian was never less than 100% professional, clearly knew what he was doing, and while at first he advised me of the expected cost, once I explained the circumstances that mitigated our having to pay for this repair, he communicated with your office several times to determine that it would be done free of charge. Edwin Stipe's reputation as a company of integrity and quality is justly deserved, and I intend to take to the internet and find some places to post a positive review. Edwin Stripe, Inc. is the best plumbing,heating, and air conditioning company in the Lehigh Valley area guaranteed! We just moved into our first home and with our luck in the middle of July the A/C goes out, not knowing the area I call to have it serviced with another company first who comes out and tells me I need a new motor replaced and possibly some other parts and its going to cost me $700 or better yet I may want to just replace my unit which would be around $5,000, Ouch! So after feeling overwhelmed I told him I needed to talk it over with my husband and we'd get back to him. We decided to get a second opinion and I'm more than glad we did. I called Edwin Stipe Inc and after speaking to Vicki on the phone about my situation she was more than understanding and sent out one of her techs to take a look even though it was Sunday. Henry was very friendly and upfront and let us know we didn't need to replace our unit and it would be worth having one of their tech's come out and take a second look. I've used Edwin Stipe several times over the past few years to maintain my furnace and AC unit (originally found them through Angie's List). Their service techs are always great, but their scheduling department is a bit of a mess. I would only receive appointment reminders the day of the appointment, when the techs were 20 - 30 minutes out. Since there was no way I could call off work at the last minute, I ended up cancelling the appointments. This last time, I received a call from Cindy the day before my appointment, since I had explicitly asked for one the last time I scheduled an appointment with her. Their other office staff, and "RoboCall" service, was supposed to call me as well, but didn't. Also, when I schedule an appointment, I'm usually able to pick a day, but not a timeframe. They call back closer to the date of the appointment (like a month in advance), and that's when you figure out the time of day that works for you. I'm not sure why a date and time can't be worked out when you originally schedule an appointment, though. So, great service, but scheduling an appointment has been an adventure. read more

Work Date 05/10/16 cost $5359 Edwin Stipe is an excellent company. On this job, they replaced my old central air conditioning unit with a new unit, both indoor and outdoor components. Most of this work took place in my attic, which is difficult to access. Originally, they came out in April to do the annual service on my air conditioning unit, a unit of unknown age. I was very disappointed with the performance of the previous company that was servicing the unit. I knew from past experience the Edwin Stipe people would give me an accurate assessment of the unit. They did, and provided pictures. They suggested I replace the unit, which they estimated at 20 years old. We proceeded with this project, and they did a great job. I now have a service contract with them for my oil furnace as well as my air conditioning. Brian Balch did excellent job changing my electric hot water heater. Edwin Stipe business was pleasant to deal with including Danielle the scheduler. They were prompt, courteous and followed up on everything. Cost was on par with average. It was a wonderful experience dealing with Jose as well. Not knowing the area and just moving in I was upset to discover a less than 6 year old AO Smith was leaking. The team from Edwin Stipe were kind and scheduled change of tank as soon as possible although I was quite panicked to wait over the weekend. Nader H. installed our ductless heat pump six years ago, and came out on a cold Friday night in January to repair it when a glitch developed. Super polite and professional, he got it back up in about ten minutes. He also explained how I could reset the system myself (turn it off and then back on from the circuit breaker on the electrical panel), and also how to get a warranty repair in the event the problem recurs (schedule the service call during regular business hours so they can work the problem on the phone with the manufacturer).
