Robert said he would save a hot putter for me (they only had 1 in stock and the manufacturer listed back order for 3 months) overnight and it was there waiting on me in the morning. He even had a heat gun to get all the stickers off and cleaned the residue off the shaft. Certainly did not have to do that but I really appreciated the service. The staff was very polite and helpful, (especially Robert A.). They have a huge selection of top of the line used clubs. They only have a few new ones, but a lot of new putters. They also have clothes, balls, and anything else golf related. I went to get fitted (which was for free) for some clubs, and they said that I was 1/2 an inch under standard with a stiff flex. I ended up buying a TaylorMade Sim 2 Max using these measurements. Days later back at my house I realized that the guy gave me a senior flex on my driver. Then when I was hitting this driver exactly 5 days later on my 4th swing with it, ( my swing is 85-95 mph) the club head came flying off on impact going around 150 yards onto the range and cracking it. Turns out when the guy cut the shaft, he didn't apoxee it nearly as good as it should've been. I had a warranty on it, and would've had to drive 3 hours on a weekend to this store so that they could look at it. Thankfully I contacted TaylorMade directly and they are currently sending me a new head. The store has a good variety and nice employees, but I just didn't have a great experience. read more

As a new golfer--and by new, I mean I've had a grand total of five hours of lessons, I visited Edwin Watts to look for clubs. We were warmly greeted at the door. That was the start of a great experience. I worked with Robert, who asked what my objectives were. He made it clear his intention was to help me achieve my goal with my purchase. I was open to exploring a range of sets, and thought fit and feel were my most important criteria. As a novice, I wanted to find a set that offered enough quality to support my learning and enjoyment. At the same time, I felt I needed to gain more experience to benefit from the highest end products. I was willing to invest in the "right" set. Robert set me up at the simulator and captured data on how effectively I hit various clubs. He offered advice to help me improve my swing. I hit several balls with each club. The data supported my own sense of the experience--one type of club was a clear front runner. The "right" set for me, it turns out, was not at the top of the price range. Robert took care of us like long lost friends. I had some old clubs that needed to be re-gripped. I'm a lefty and they had some clubs and a primo simulator in the back and allowed me to amuse myself for a while as I waited a short time to get my clubs finished. I love that simulator! I wish I could find one that's ahem affordable to put in my garage. I worked up quite a sweat first using their clubs and then getting reacquainted with mine. Great grips, oversized and just the right amount of sticky. If my body holds out I'd sure like to get out and golf this year. The 75-odd pieces of metal don't all work the same way at the same time. If I can get more enjoyment than hurt out of it I'll be a golfer again. Woot! read more

We were very impressed with Robert. I've been in retail management for 7 years, and it's difficult to find employees that take pride and ownership in their job as if they owned it themselves. He was consistent with his assistance but allowed us space to talk and discuss amongst ourselves. He was the perfect definition of service. Very knowedgeable and wasn't trying to "sell" us. He listened to what we wanted and our feedback and gave appropriate suggestions. He had our items we didn't want put back before we even noticed, and our items were ready to go and bagged up when we arrived at the counter. Best service in ANY retail store I've had in a year. Bought $1000 irons there a few weeks ago after custom fitting. They were drop shipped directly from Taylor Made. I needed to have the lie angle adjusted and called Edwin Watts to see if they would do it for me. They said no problem, they would do it for free. I brought them in and the repair guy, Kevin, clearly did not want to do it. After a snide comment or two, he said "they are cast irons so they may break". Obviously, I'm not going to risk breaking a brand new set of clubs I just purchased. So I quickly left as they snickered to each other as I did. I just got off the phone with Taylor Made custom fitting and they told me "He should not have said that. We bend them all the time, you just don't want to do it repeatedly. But you just purchased them. If you can't find anyone local, ship them to us and we'll take care of it at no charge". That's how it's done. Excellent experience every time I have been. Not condescending, there to truly help. Kim, the assistant manager there went above and beyond for me. She was awesome. I went in for new irons that I already did research on. I knew what I was going to buy, but she still wanted me to hit them into their simulator. She had me hit regular and stiff shafts to find my comfort level. I'm not that good and she didn't mock me at all. She actually gave me encouraging words which gave me more confidence hitting in the simulator. She even gave me some advice on my grip which seemed to change a ton based on the numbers in the simulator. I immediately carried the ball 20-30yds farther and straight consistently, just bc she noticed that my grip caused my club face to be closed throughout my backswing and contact. When I commented how awesome that was she started fist pumping getting me more excited about the change and my new clubs. Never thought I would feel so excited and happy about spending that kind of money but right now I have no regrets and would go back to Kim in a heart beat. You can tell she just really enjoys her job and the game. Kudos edwin watts. I will be back soon for that driver too. read more

Great experiences every time I am there. They know golf, they love golf and talk golf. Whenever I am there a conversation about golf ensues. There are even times when golf isn't the conversation. Whenever I have a question it is answered. Tom is my guy! A lot of knowledge and not always trying to sell me the most expensive item. I asked recently about golf balls and while he mentioned the obvious (Titleist Pro V 1's are really good balls) he also took time to explain other ones and asked some questions related to my preferences. Come to find out I am a Srixon guy. Q-Star. He just recently gave me some advice on creating some extra distance with specific types of workouts. Went into the store looking for a specific left handed club. Left handed inventory is nonexistent. Went to the front desk to speak with the person behind the counter. He was pricing clubs and completely ignored me. Seeking to gain his attention I said "excuse me". He rolled his eyes in my direction and immediately returned to his important price gun. I immediately walked out never to return. When this store was located on Sam Rittenburg many of the employees had a snobbish attitude. After moving to Orleans Rd. and prior to closing the employees were much more friendly. It now seems the old way has returned. I tried for several weeks to order a staff bag and could not get a call back from anyone at the store yet continued to shop here. Last night I went into the store and I wanted a dozen Titleist ProV 1s all number 1s which I have gotten for years without issue. The women behind the counter had the worst attitude and questioned me sarcastically, She obviously did not want to fulfill my request.
