I will say that when I texted Carly a photo, she confirmed that was not her intention and offered to try to correct the error. I do appreciate this. I went back in and she was able to "even" it out as best she could given the condition. It wasn't ideal, but I get it. Mistakes happen. I was actually really happy to do this because it gave me a good idea of what to expect for my appointment and what the overall vibe of the salon was . Carly took a look at all of my pictures of the type of hair that i liked , and booked my appointment for a few weeks out . She gave me a cost estimate at the consultation which i am really grateful for because I've experienced "sticker shock " before at hair appointments , expecting to pay one thing and getting a much higher bill at the end of the service . I will say that the prices listed on the website are very much " starting prices " . My hair service ended up being a corrective color and did take several hours , however Carly explained to me that i will be able to go for several months in between my highlighting services so in my opinion, it was well worth the money and time ! I gave Debra an idea of what I wanted-- a trim and more bangs to better frame my Tyra forehead-- and an hour later after a perfect not-too-short trim and meticulous tiny scissor shaping, my hair looked AMAZING. This is the first time I haven't secretly freaked out about a haircut in at least 2 years. After I was finished, Dawn helped me pick out two products based on my concerns about the summer fro-inducing humidity and my need for a new hairspray. I was weary again to purchase products as they are Glam Lounge's own line (I'm typically dependent on reading reviews before beauty product purchases), but the laminating gel is like sunshine in a bottle for my straightening needs, and the hairspray is the perfect balance of hold and flexibility. To be honest, when I first visited, I was surprised by its off-the-beaten path location and unpretentious building. Dawn gave me a cut and color. She's very nice and patient, and her baby is SO cute! (He was sleeping in his little carseat when I was there.) Being my first time, the color didn't turn out as blonde as I had requested so Dawn worked with me to get it right.
