I recently attended a Yelp event featuring a catering business called Effortlessly Healthy. It's not much to look at on the outside, but upon entering it is cozy and clean. The offerings were wraps that featured chicken, mushroom, and other ingredients. As it was dinner time for me, I opted for the steak garbage plate. When my order came , it consisted of Coke slaw with not too much Mayo, sweet potato fries, with bite sized steak pieces cooked medium. Very nicely prepared, the combination was great. The meat was tender, and the fries and coleslaw complemented the ensemble well. As we all try to eat healthier, sometimes it's just not possible with hectic schedules and what not. My wife & I are fans of the local food truck scene, and hope going forward businesses like Effortlessly Healthy succeed in their mission to bring good food to the public. I eat out a lot so I try to eat healthy most of the time. I thought this truck would be the perfect option for me. I ordered the chicken avocado with sweet potatoes and coleslaw. I'm not sure what the name of it was but it was okay but very very bland. Although the food is a healthier option, theres no reason for lack of taste. There are a lot of ways to spice chicken up. My favorite part were the chunks of avocados (there is also a green sauce on it). Now they no longer have chunks of avocado, they only have an avocado puree sauce which is not to my liking, it is pretty flavorless as well. I would have given it 3 stars the first time I tried it but now since they took away the avocado I give it a two. They need to marinate the chicken better and find a way to make it more flavorful. I started with Effortlessly Healthy's meal plans in July. I am an IBS and GERD sufferer and I have to be super careful on what I can eat. I typically make my meals ahead of time and bring them to work but I just didn't have the extra time to make them myself anymore. I began my search for a local business that made healthy meals that would follow my super strict diet. I found Effortlessly Healthy so I decided to give them a try. I went in and sat with the owner and went over everything that I can and cannot have. They have been so amazing with making meals that I can actually eat and enjoy. Prices are reasonable and you can get a 'buy 6, get one free' punch card, good for garbage plates only. I highly recommend this place for a quick lunch. Staff had a little bit of an attitude when I wasn't crystal clear about my order. Here's an idea: why don't you just clarify nicely and stuff the 'tude. I tried this place out at the Lilac Fest recently, when my go to truck had closed already. I'm happy I got a chance to try something different. My friend and I initially thought it might be entirely vegan but the owner assured me it was real chicken they were serving. We ordered their healthy garbage plate for $10 and they agreed to split it for us. I'm glad they did, because it was definitely a nice meal for two people but might have been too much for one. The plate consisted of Chicken, Bacon, Avocado, a cream dressing, roasted sweet potatoes, and coselaw as the base. There was a good amount of all the ingredients, with my favorite components being the bacon, sweet potatoes, and dressing. The bacon was the best I've had in a while. It was perfectly crispy. The potatoes also had a nice crisp to them, as well as a smoky flavor. I can't wait till the next time I can get another! read more

I have their food delivery service and love it!!! The variety of foods make it an adventure every week. There is so much flavor in everything they make. My favorite salad is their Chicken Waldorf salad, I love the sauce on their Chicken Parm, their breakfast Frittatas and Parfaits are so good and who would think a Parfait could be a meal but they are filling and you have to try the Peanut Butter and Jelly Parfait!!! I had a Turkey Chili last winter and I thought as I ate it that I could eat this everyday and be a happy camper. If you had to buy all of the ingredients that they put in their meals to make them yourself, I am sure it would cost you way more than just letting them do all the work and buying the meals from them. I've had their healthy plates before at events and have been pretty impressed. Good food and a nice alternative to other food trucks. However last night I tried to place an order for pick up at their store. I had a really hard time finding hours on their website but finally found that they are open on Monday and Thursday from 3:30-7:30. I called Monday at 3:45 but no answer. So I called back around 5 and someone picked up. I said I wanted to place an order for pick up and were told they weren't open that day. Ok....it was a Monday, and supposedly they are only open Monday and Thursday. So I guess I'm confused at the concept. Is it a real take out restaurant and if so how do we know when it's open? Only 2 days a week but then sometimes closed without warning? I'd love to eat here more often but with a family I can't count on it if it's not open when it's advertised to be open. read more

After reading many articles and reviews, I decided to stop in and give the stand alone store a try. I opted for the steak plate with meat sauce and bacon added on. It's not the size of a normal Rochester plate you would find at many other hot places, but what it lacks in size makes up for in meat and flavor. The meat sauce was great, not too hot, but just enough to accentuate the plate. This is not their fault, but next time I come, I will go not meat sauce or bacon. The flavors match up so well with their avocado sauces and you get a healthy amount of protein. This plate stands alone on its well prepared meats, great sweet potatoes and very tasty coleslaw. If you want to eat well, feel less guilty about your meal, Effortlessly Healthy needs to be on your destination list at all times. read more

I tried Effortlessly Healthy at Fairport Canal Days and was pleasantly surprised! I've been wanting to try them out and I'm glad that I had the opportunity. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Avocado Plate which consisted of sweet potatoes, cole slaw, bacon, chicken and a scoop of avocado. The sweet potatoes and chicken were spiced perfectly, but I wish that the cole slaw had a bit more dressing/flavor - mine was a bit dry. The service was friendly and all in all it was a good experience and I hope to try more of their offerings soon! read more

Even after all of the negative reviews about how rude they are, my office was going to take their chances and place a lunch order. Unfortunately, the experience was so bad before we had even placed our order that we changed our minds altogether. We called to ensure they delivered to our office and that we could pay with multiple credit cards BEFORE considering ordering. They said "yes, no problem." When we called back to actually place our order, we were rudely told to order on Grub Hub individually before we were promptly hung up on. We would have gladly paid with one credit card and completed the order on the phone had the employee we were talking to actually given a crap and stayed on the phone long enough for us to ask a follow up question. What a disgustingly shady way to try to trap people into paying delivery fees per person even though it is ONE delivery, and what a horrific way to talk to and treat your customers. Finally stopped by to grab one of their garbage plates. I got the chicken, red peppers and avacodo plate. I didn't feel too guilty indulging in this compared to an actual garbage plate. It was pretty good, and I wanted extra avacodo dressing but too much of it would ruin my diet! I like the concept of healthy meals picked out in advance for delivery/pick up. Their menu changes every Monday and Thursday and they have a good variety of entrees I'd never pull off myself if I tried cooking a healthy meal at home. In an effort to get my lunches for the week prepared by a service, I did the 5 meals a week plan to alleviate some of the prep work. The meals themselves are great. I've tried my fair share of meal prep services and the flavor in these are great in comparison to some. My biggest complaint is with billing and pick up. The billing is very inconsistent, different days every week so you have no idea which week they are billing you for. I would never be able to keep track in my bank account and knowing they over billed my sister in the past, I was very careful to attempt to monitor it. Pick up was on Monday and Thursdays between a very short window 3:30 - 7. Not very convenient timing if you have a busy schedule. read more

The larger shared space is so cute with a coffee shop, olive oil market, butcher and what not... But the closer I got to this businesses prep kitchen, the further away I wanted to be. The restrooms that are open the patrons are close by and clearly this business cares nothing about appearance or sanity ways... I'm not one to say much unless something terrible happens directly to me... But the vision I saw made me second guess "catering" altogether.
