On our way back down to Madison from Minneapolis and found this little place! What a gem! All four of us are from California and miss authentic, affordable, delicious Asian food and this place hits the spot! We had a variety of Vietnamese and Thai dishes! The fried rice pad Thai combo was bomb! Wish it was closer to Madison! Their portions are huge! Ordered a large pho because I figured it would probably not be that large since that's been my experience with pho at Midwest restaurants. Boy was I wrong! Serving size was just like home! First let me explain why the 3 star rating...we have had pho from many different places..some were better than others while there have been a few that I would say were excellent and a couple that were not palatable at all. The pho served here is good...just not as good as some we've had at other restaurants. However the service was second to none, we were greeted promptly and waited upon within seconds of finding a table. The prices were good and the staff was very friendly. I can't imagine a trip to Eau Claire without stopping at Egg Rolls Plus. It's relatively easy to overlook this location when you drive through, but once you stop once: you'll never miss it again. My wife and I went in for lunch, hoping to find that diamond hidden in Eau Claire and I truly believe we did. We both ordered the red curry, here with tofu and mine mixed (chicken, beef, shrimp). On the table we had fish sauce, hot sauce, Sriracha & plum sauce. The portions were incredible AND plentiful! For the price of what we received I would have paid a lot more! Absolutely worth the time and money. My curry was FULL of peppers, meat (previously mentioned) mushrooms, bamboo, and much more. The curry had a great lemongrass flavor and was worth every penny. I almost licked the bowl it was so good! We were acknowledged quickly, the place was clean and our waiter was at our table within seconds. This will be our new 'go to' joint for sure! Our total with 2 appetizers and 2 meals, plus drinks, was just over $20. Definitely a bargain and the food was fantastic. These folks are doing it right and the selfish me want to keep them all to myself, however, these people deserve to have lots of customers because of their hard work and dedication to flavor that they put into their food! Their egg rolls are also very delicious with a crunchy outside and paired with a sweet and sour it is amazing! this is my favorite pho spot in the area. i slide through here whenever i need to sweat out an ailment or just want a face full of bone marrow soup. i've been to several pho joints around ec and this is my personal favorite. i usually start with a spring roll or two, they're super large even by wisconsin standards. egg rolls are delicious too and arrive at the table super fresh and hot. i've tried most of their pho variations and haven't been disappointed yet. street parking only, which is fine because eau claire is lowkey for parking all the time. the only bummer is that they're only open until 6pm, so youre gonna have to plan out your dinner a little bit. after enjoying some food you can go across the street to the bullpen and if you get in a gnarly bar fight, mayo clinic is like a block away. or just go down the hill to lazy monk and drink some beer. enjoy. *_*っ read more

Probably the tastiest (and definitely the freshest) food to be had in Eau Claire. Though the name suggests low budget Chinese (I was expecting a walk-up counter, not sit-down service), it's actually a Thai/Vietnamese restaurant with a couple of traditional Chinese entrees (like Sweet and Sour chicken). On my visit, I had a fresh spring roll, which you can buy individually for $1.85, or two for $3.50. It was great, no complaints, and came up super quickly. Crunchy and light. I also tried a vermicelli salad with shrimp. The shrimp were grilled perfectly (and there was a decent number of them - maybe 8). I liked that all the sauces (hot sauce, peanut sauce, that sweet pink sauce) and vinegar dressing come on the side. Only qualm with this dish was that the noodles weren't actually vermicelli, but closer to a spaghetti. For some reason, with room temp or cold noodles, I think thinner is more appetizing and these were too thick for me. My only other issue is that the place closes at 6pm, so unless you are a very early dinner eater, it's a lunch only spot. But they take credit cards, the place is reasonably clean, and the one waitress working was polite and efficient. The bowls of Pho coming out looked great - can't wait to try once it gets a little colder out. Also interested to see how the Thai curries and noodle dishes are in comparison to Singha. read more

The owner and his daughters always knew how I liked my food --- even how I never wanted greens in my pho! Don't expect any fancy decor because it's a mom-and-pop restaurant. I live in California now, and NO PLACE here has pho, egg rolls, or spicy papaya salad that compares to Egg Rolls Plus. This is my favorite Asian restaurant in the Chippewa Valley. It's nothing at all to look and and if you didn't know where it was, you could miss it driving by. It's on a small block with a Hmong hair-styling place and video rental. The dining area is small and somewhat dilapidated. The real draw is the food. As far as I can tell everything I've had has been homemade and very fresh. The coconut curry had a wonderful flavor and the stir fries all have had fresh vegetables (though fresh veggies may be less likely in the winter) and the dishes weren't heavy and salty. However, the highlight of the menu is in the name of the restaurant itself. I can't remember a place with better egg rolls. Most restaurants serve egg rolls from a distributor, but these rolls have a light, flaky wrap and a good veggie to meat mix. The sauces are also great. If you like hot sauces, theirs is awesome. A friend of mine ordered a pint of it to take home last time he went. The best for me is to dip the egg roll in the hot sauce, then dunk it into the sweet and sour. Heard about the great reviews online. Decided to give it a try even though it off our path home from highway 94. Was very busy on a Tuesday afternoon. Got seated right away, within minutes our server came and got our orders. In less the 5 minutes our appetizers came. Service was fast and efficient. The food was good and price is great. I'm very pleased to have found this place on yelp. I was in town for work and craving great Asian food. I was surprised how many people were here for a late lunch (2pm). Second thing I noticed was the speed of the kitchen. I ordered an egg roll and wings to start. Fresh out of the fryer, my food came out quickly. If you like sauces and spicy, the hotpepper fish sauce was excellent with the egg roll. The wings came out with their own spicy rub. Wasn't too spicy. They were accompanied with their own dipping sauce. It was delicious. I like good Pad Thai, and this day was no different. I ordered it with shrimp. See my pictures. Great food, low prices, but not fancy by any strech. Hands down the best egg rolls I've ever eaten. They're crab rangoon is also the best in town. I usually order the small pho and a plate of eggrolls, and that's more than enough to fill me up. Remodeled a couple years ago, new space is definitely nicer. Waitstaff are always quick and friendly, but don't expect them to stop and chat because they are always hustling. It's not noted anywhere, but you pay at the counter on your way out. They usually don't bring the check to your table. This place has good food, served quickly, at a low price. I only wish they were open later and on Saturdays. read more

I've had carry out meals from Egg Rolls Plus a couple of times and was impressed with cost, quality and quantity, so was really looking forward to a full onsite dining experience last night. We were seated at 5:15 PM. The joint was nearly full and extremely noisy. No problem so far. While waiting I noticed 2 other tables fill up. Then at 5:40 we walked out never to return because both tables that were seated after us had placed their orders. I'll be PC and say that I believe this discrimination was based on "favoritism". read more

Small Como Pho - Still one of my favorite pho. Nab Vam Drink / Coconut Boba - Just order it. Atmosphere: They expanded the seating areas so you can sit on either side of the room. You can seat yourself. This place is kid friendly so feel free to grab a baby sitter. When it gets busy, it does get really busy so watch the time you go. There can be a wait or no wait at all. I order beef pho and I just didn't like it, but it was the first time I've tired it. I wasn't the happiest with the wait staff. We didn't receive a refill until we were ready for a bill, and we ended up canceling our order for crab rangoon because it was taking too long. SO GOOD! I have a high population of Vietnamese and Thai that are in my hometown, so I've had awesome Asian food before. Eating at Egg Rolls Plus reminded me of my favorite spot at home! The egg rolls were large and crisp, the vermicelli bowls were full of fresh veggies, and the steaming Pad Thai Fried Rice was abundant and delicious! Food came out quick with great customer service. The restaurant needs a bit of a face lift decor-wise, BUT we go to restaurants to eat good food and Egg Rolls Plus definitely checked that box! Highly recommend!!! read more
