Overall, a three star experience. Ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich, and a short stack of pancakes. They were both good...not great, but good. Coffee was good...not great, but good. A little on the strong/bitter side. Service was good...not great, but good. You get the idea...this was an average breakfast place in a sea of choices that are better. For a place that lauds itself as a pancake house, there were very few pancake options on the menu. I wouldn't steer anyone away from this restaurant, but I wouldn't recommend it either. read more

Went Egg-cited for lunch, it's Tuesday so of course I had the cream of mushroom soup, it is amazingly delicious, one of my most favorites, I had a Greek salad along with my soup, the salad was so filling lots of Kalamata olives, and so much feta cheese it was delicious, the dressing complimented everything, I even had a dinner roll with my salad, you will have to ask for the rolls, but I think they make the difference, something to dip in the dressing, a perfect lunch. read more

The beverage options were also very impressive. Parking is cramped in the lot, so I recommend parking in the back of the building. Washrooms could use some attention, but not a deal breaker. I am absolutely furious with how my recent order was handled. I placed a takeout order and even repeated my order back to the employee at the front to confirm everything was correct. Rather than listening carefully, she seemed dismissive and uninterested. Unfortunately, when I got home, I discovered my order was completely wrong. I called the restaurant and was told my corrected order was ready. After driving all the way back, I arrived only to be told it wasn't ready after all and that I would need to wait even longer. Why tell a customer their order is ready when it isn't? What made the situation even worse was the attitude I received from the same employee. Instead of apologizing for the mistake and inconvenience, she argued with me and suggested that I may have ordered incorrectly. Being blamed for the restaurant's mistake is completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. Unfortunately, this isn't the first negative experience I've had here. Dining in has become frustrating as well. On previous visits, basic necessities such as silverware were forgotten, service was poor, and yet there was still an expectation of a substantial tip. Tips should reflect good service, not be treated as something customers owe regardless of the experience. While waiting for my corrected order, I witnessed multiple order issues involving other customers as well. The entire experience felt disorganized, dismissive, and disrespectful. The one bright spot in this situation was another employee who stepped in and helped resolve the issue. She was kind, professional, and treated me with the respect and courtesy that should have been shown from the beginning. I genuinely appreciate her efforts to make things right. Mistakes happen. What matters is how a business handles them. Instead of taking responsibility, apologizing, and correcting the issue efficiently, I was met with delays, excuses, dismissal, and an argument. This was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've had in a long time, and it has seriously made me reconsider returning. read more

This place used to be good when the other owners owned the place. Now, the waiters are not good. And the last two times they have tried to scam us by adding in a 20% tip when there was only 3 of us eating the first time and this last time there was only 4 of us. It says 20% gratuity for 5 people or more, we were not 5. I mentioned it to the girl up front taking payment and she said it's done automatically. No it is not. They manually changed it from 5 to 4 on the new receipt they handled me. Be aware of these scammers. Read your receipt all the way. They'll make you think there's no tip but they added it already and on top of that you'll leave another tip because you don't know there's the added 20% service fee. READ IT THROUGHLY!! Stopped by for Sunday brunch and could get a table within 10 minutes. Excellent lavender latte as well as the Turkish coffee. I got the biscuits and gravy with eggs and a side of the stuffed French toast - highly recommend the stuffed French toast. It was not too sweet or creamy, just perfect! My husband got the Fiesta skillet and it came with a lot of veggies and very flavorful chorizo. Our friends got the Malibu sandwich which was alright and the Tuscan chicken skillet which she really enjoyed. Service here was good and so was the food. Today is Sunday, had a pretty disappointing experience with Egg cited. We ordered Belgium Pecan waffle, with side of sausage, Denver Omelet with hashbrowns. Its busy, expected to wait. All our entrees came out cold. The Omelet was slightly warm in the center. The Belgium waffle was spongy, not crisp and resembled a child size portion (much smaller then last time i was here). They asked me at the checkout how everything was. I said everything was cold. She asked me a little puzzled, is that a bad thing (that it was cold)???? Pretty solid brunch/breakfast spot here in Naperville! We went on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. Even then, we got seated super quickly. They have a large menu with so many options to choose from. I wanted to be a bit more on the healthier side so I got the avocado toast. LOCAL BUSINESS - PLEASE SUPPORT We went there for the breakfast on Friday morning and i would say about 75% of the tables were occupied. Ambiance: the ambiance was really good. In the first look as we entered, it seemed like a Diner to us. But when we went in and got seated, we saw that they have good decor. Service: the service was very fast based on the amount of guests sitting in this restaurant. Food: A server came to us within minutes of us sitting to ask for coffee and gave the menus. We took few minutes to order food but as we ordered, we got the food in about 5 mins. We ordered a vegetarian panini and a veggie Skillet with Pancakes. The server was very quick and when we asked for the recommendations while placing the order, she said everything is good and really didn't give any recommendations. Anyhow, when we got the food, it was super hot and tasty. Since we were asking our server which preparation is spicy, she got us hot sauces on her own when she brought our food. We enjoyed eating everything. Restrooms: They have separate restrooms for men and women and they were very clean. They have a sanitizer stand right outside the restrooms. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the Naperville area. Its is a busy place even on Friday morning for breakfast. had no wait time. ambiance- is normal. looks more like a diner but have good paintings for decor. it is handicap friendly place. the aisle are widely spaced and you maintain good distance between the tables. the place was not at all noisy. food- we got coffee pretty quickly and server was serving hot coffee. a lot of eggetarian and vegetarian options. they were easy to modify the dishes. since we were asking for jalapeños in our food, our server got us hot sauce without even asking. Fruits were not fresh. serve time- was good. we didn't have to wait. for a Friday morning I believe the guest to server ratio was good. restrooms- were very clean with availability of the paper towels and hand drier, along with hand sanitizer just outside the restrooms door. which is very uncommon. pay- we have to pay at the cashier before existing the restaurant. had to wait few minutes in line before paying as there was only one cashier. read more

This place is always 5 star for food and service! Whether you're looking for breakfast or lunch, the menu choices are plentiful. Me personally, it's all about the breakfast. Great coffee and lattes. A breakfast restaurant that's crowded with a little bit more than just a quick wait? This is any breakfast restaurant ever. Egg Citer had more like a ten minute wait. Was the wait worth the time? I mean, it's breakfast how difficult can this be? Thankfully enough this breakfast experience was just almost just fine. The sever kept my coffee cup filled and for that I am thankful. My order came with a side of pancakes which when she brought out my entree she mentioned that she was going right back for the pancakes and would be back in a moment. This moment was more than a moment. This moment I was able to measure by having almost finished my omelet before the side of pancakes was brought out. Was this a huge deal? No, but apparently enough for me to mention. When paying at the front the host had chimed in as I was filling in the tip amount. He had said as I was reviewing the bill and calculating the tip that I wanted to leave, what 20 percent would be. Not sure why he felt obligated to say anything but he did. It may have been because it was so crowded and he wanted me to fill it in and get out. I needed a moment to do some calculations and certainly didn't need his input. If 10 seconds had gone by maybe. I had even moved to the side to allow others to pay their bill while I was filling out out the bill. They were super busy on a rainy Sunday morning, but they were very friendly, patient and got us a table for 11 quickly. The portions are ginormous and their menu is extensive. The Mickey Mouse pancakes were a hit and I loved the country fried steak & eggs. The coffee never stops flowing and the servers are attentive and helpful. read more

My family raved about EggCited's food from a previous visit, ultimately taking me with them on their next visit when we were in the area. The restaurant was quite busy when we entered, but since we had made a reservation, they had a table waiting that could easily seat 6 people when we arrived. Looking at their menu, it was so difficult to choose an option because everything sounded so tasty; it was good to see a variety of vegetarian items as well, but it made choosing my entree even more challenging. I ended up deciding on a skillet, which had both potatoes and eggs. Other people had chosen chocolate crepes, a grilled cheese sandwich, an omelet, and stuffed french toast. All of the items we chose were delicious and the portion sizes were quite generous - we had quite a bit of food left over even though we were ravenous when we entered. I thought that my skillet could use some more flavoring and noticed that the potatoes were hashbrowns underneath instead of diced potato, which made it a little harder to eat; but, it was satisfying enough. I'd definitely return to try some of their other menu items, given their vast selection and wouldn't hesitate to bring my husband or other friends to try it out as well. read more

Some of my personal favorite meals are: country skillet or country benedict, mediterranean chicken wrap, chicken ranchero panini (ask for extra aioli), bacon avocado burger, pecan chicken salad (ask for extra dressing bc the salad is huge), gyro omelette, and the cinnamon swirl french toast. tbh, the "worst" meal i have had here is like a 7/10, and it wasn't bc it was bad, but rather bc i took a risk and tried something i knew i may or may not have liked. but the absolute best best best part.... their SOUPS. so fresh. so creamy and/or rich. so much flavor. lots of chunks of the good stuff in the soup. every single soup is amazing. i wasn't really a major fan of soup until i started going here regularly. my personal favs are the cream of chicken and rice (available most days but idk the exact schedule), broccoli cheddar (wednesday), minestrone (monday), and split pea (Thursday). they are all genuinely so good. i'm.... not s0ber... while writing this, so i'm going offfff. but i truly mean it. their soups are incredible.i crave them regularly and have to refrain myself from buying it every day. if they had an option for bottomless soup, id get it every time. idc if i order pancakes... im pairing it with some sort of soup. i just can't even express how good and fresh and comforting their soups are. needless to say, im obsessed. i also appreciate that the restaurant is relatively quiet. it's not totally silent or anything, but i appreciate a place that's chill and relaxing. it's just homey and minimal, and i love that. definitely try the place, bc id bet that you'd like it. as i'm proofreading this, im wishing i was sponsored, but im most definitely not lol. read more

Just left the Egg Cited Pancake House in Naperville. We had Joe as our server, he was EXCELLENT! We also LOVED the food. My husband goes for the patty melts (on regular rye bread if you ask) and the chicken rice soup. I had the gyro & fries. I could not eat my gyro, it will be lunch for the next couple of days. This place changed owners a few years ago but kept the super fast service and excellent breakfasts. For brunch or lunch they have a fantastic whole avocado stuffed with albacore tuna salad, served with fruit salad and a slice of banana bread. It's enough for two and always fresh. read more
