This place is an absolute gem! The parking lot was jam packed with cars and Santa was greeting customers as you walked in. The restaurant was filled with holiday cheer as Christmas decorations adorned the place and servers wore holiday attire as well. We were promptly seated and greeted by a most friendly server. She took our coffee order and returned quickly to take our order. We both ordered the Denver Skillets, one with pancakes and the other with French Toast. The servings were more than generous and delicious as well. When the check came we were surprised how affordable breakfast was. All of our food was cold, some not cooked through. Our server was very kind and quick to help us out, but was not very experienced. We got coffee with no questions about cream and 4 entrees without noticing no one had silverware. That's okay- could be a learning curve. Family of 7 at next table arriving after us and getting their food and check before us is probably not the server's fault. But the entire meal was inadequate. Three people had french toast or pancakes, and didn't finish any of it because is was cold & unappetizing. The fourth person (photo included) was excited for a skillet with a side of potato pancakes. The eggs WERE cooked through, but the hash brown potatoes underneath were cold and uncooked- inedible. Potato pancakes were also cold and may have been cooked, but it was hard to tell. When the server asked if everything was alright, we asked her to take away the almost full dish of uncooked hash browns. They were kind to apologize, but did not remove it from our bill, which would have been appropriate. We would urge the owner to take a look at their safety measures, because food must be sitting around too long before being served, or some staff member is not turning on the food warmers that should be used. Also, the cook putting a cooked egg on top of uncooked hash browns needs a refresher on that cook process. We walked away from the table because even the coffee refills were cold. Every part of this meal was a complete was of money ($10-12 / person). My husband and I visited today for the first time. When this location was Goodys we were there all the time but had not returned with the new concept. Mad we waited so long! The sit down atmosphere was very nice. Servers were so friendly. Our server (woman- short red hair) was very good. I had the senior breakfast with bacon, poached eggs bacon, has browns and two pancakes plus included beverage (coffee) for $11.99. Excellent value and the food was great. Hubby had the cinamon swirl french toast combo. Wow! the french toast was excellent. This breakfast place has become one of me and my daughters favorite places for brunch. We have dined in several times and we have ordered take out. They have always impressed and it keeps us going back. My favorite dish is the steak chilaquiles. They give you a generous portion of steak and the green salsa they serve it with is full of flavor and delicious. I liked the steak better than the chicken. My daughter always gets the black and white pancakes. The pancakes are loaded with white and milk chocolate chips and have chocolate drizzled on top. It's a big stack so we always get to take home the left overs and heat them up the next day. For lunch we have tried the taco salad, the California panini and the burgers. All have been great. You know the place is good when they are extremely busy with dine in and take out orders. Service has been ok, servers have not been too attentive but not a biggie since they are busy. The food is very good there, but to our surprise today, my husband ordered a deluxe cheeseburger and asked for a slice of onion - the waitress never said there was an extra charge for the onion slice and when we got the bill, there was an extra $1.75 charge on our bill and the waitress said that was for the slice of onion! Packed with fresh, quality ingredients that were bursting with flavor the meal also came with two delicious pancakes, which were better than you'll get at Ihop, Denny's or anywhere else. My husband and I found this restaurant three weeks ago because he wanted a good place for chilaquiles. He ordered the chilaquiles skillet. Now under skillets it says it comes with hash browns and a side. The first time he ordered it he didn't get the hash browns but forgot to ask. So the second time we went he asked the waitress to please remember to put the hash browns because the one reason he ordered the skillet instead of just the chilaquiles was because he really likes has browns. So the waitress made sure that they were in his dish and they didn't charge any extra charge because it is in the menu that way. We went yesterday and when he got his order it didn't have hash browns. So he asked the male waiter about them and was told that the menu says that the chillaquiles skillet does not come with hash browns. My husband said that the menu isn't clear about that and wanted the has browns. He didn't make a scene or get upset with the waiter. When we got our bill we were charged for the hash browns. He asked to see the menu when we went up to pay and showed the lady that clearly under skillets it comes with hash browns and a side yet they still charged us. She said no that one item doesn't include hash browns so that's that you get charged. We used to own a restaurant and my husband is currently an executive chef in a hotel and that's not the way to keep customers. My husband doesn't want to have to cook on his days off so we usually go out for breakfast. Other restaurants that we have gone to that doesn't include hash browns he always asks for a side and we have no problem paying for them because you have to assume an extra charge for things not included. So needless to say, we will not be coming back. read more
