Wifi was the worst I have ever encountered. 2MBP/s. Our mobile hotspot was way faster. I think our dial up was faster in 2004.. Surfaces and floor clearly weren't cleaned. Most likely for a long, long time judging by the inch+ or so of grime on them. Hotel staff did nothing to make it right. Active duty military, Valentine's Day weekend. We rarely get to take time for ourselves and this was HOURS of searching to choose this hotel. It's been a nightmare. Satisfaction guarantee? NOPE. Corporate said they can't do anything! People are also blatantly smoking marijuana in the hallway. Update: Tiki bar is also closed!! Restaurant refused to feed our kids claiming they ONLY served the $90 Valentine Special. The Restaurant was completely empty. Entire hotel was a ghost town. They were not "fully booked", they were only booking 2 floors because the rest were under construction. There were a maximum of 5 people in the restaurant morning, noon, and night. Indoor pool totally empty. Only saw one person outside by the fires, a single elderly woman. The place was abandoned despite advertising fully booked. I checked out 2 days early. Don't go here if you value your time at all. We called corporate and spoke to the manager downstairs. She told us only the general manager could do anything and he conveniently would not be there until the day we were scheduled to check out. Corporate told us only the general manager could do anything also and they could not, would not, do anything.

We booked two different rooms based on what they had available. When we arrived, no one asked us if we needed help with our luggage. We made our way to the Presidential Suite and it was filthy. The room size was massive but they clearly never cleaned it well. The couches and carpet all stained, the vents had 1 inch layers of dust all over, the fan was covered in dust balls and dust layers, some vents were falling out of the ceiling with no screws, the tile floor cracked, carpet has nails popping through and there is dirt and dust all over the floors from not being vacuumed or cleaned. There was also a huge roach on the floor which didn't add for an additional touch. It's Florida so I'm trying to be accepting of palmetto roaches but it wasn't cool finding that on your already filthy $1000 room floor. We were incredibly disappointed. For over $1000 this is not what we expected. We did share this with management and our next two nights we were supposed to stay in the queen room, was then adjusted to the king room. While the king room was definitely much cleaner, this room was also hundreds of dollars less in value. It's just very disappointing to pay over $1000 to have a room you can't sit on the couch, or walk the floors without your feet covered. Aside from the room, we also had a pretty awful breakfast experience. Eggs cold, and my husband's avacado toast was missing the egg. We sent it back and it was fixed but that lost our trust in the restaurant so we ate out instead. Our experience with the rental chairs on the beach was not good the first day either. The guy told us there were chairs set up, we walked over and there wasn't. He didn't offer to add anymore, so my husband put ours out for us. We really felt they lacked the customer service feature here. This place lacked the prestige we hoped for and we decided we wouldn't return here again. While the sunset and sunrise are just breathtaking, the hospitality and attention to detail here is lacking and not for us at this price. It seems people have been coming here for so many years they have blinders up and are missing how much is falling through the cracks or even noticing any issue. Easy, right? Maybe not (fine print). I guess the "high authority" at this spot declined my request without any contact. I called days later asking if there was something that could be worked out. Possibly staying the night and we would be there in 8 hrs. There is always something that could be done right? I could at least ask. Speaking to Jennifer again, she mentioned that the supervisor who would be able to approve this had been working different shifts so I requested a call back. On the road, anxious, I called hours later and thought I'd steer on the side of caution to reserve a room (we still need to stay the night). I questioned why I did that later and ask Jennifer to cancel that and I would just wait for a call from leadership. I never got a call back. My thoughts: Money is already theirs so why call me back? Did Jennifer relay the message? I cannot say. We drove passed and went on our way. It would've been awesome to stay here as I want to be a loyal best western customer.

The hand soap and lotion dispenser was broken and needed to be replaced as well. Unfortunately, the WiFi was slow and only worked in certain areas of our room. The microwave had to be replaced twice because it stopped working initially (it was overheating and something was going on with the breaker) then the staff brought us another one that turned on but didn't warm up the food. So finally the 3rd microwave worked properly. Unfortunately, you do have to pay for breakfast ($18-$20), but if you stay at the Hilton Garden Inn next door, they have free breakfast.
