My husband and I stayed at the Silver Beach Towers in Destin, FL in the 3-BR condo with my elderly parents. The room was immaculate and beautiful. The property was clean and accessible, and check-in was easy. The elevator system was confusing at first because they are designed to go all floors, but based on room number. For example, we used elevators for our 5th floor condo with a room number ending in -04. Other elevators are for rooms ending in 01 and 06. So, you can enter an elevator and press your floor number, but your room will be accessible only by going down to the bottom, changing elevators, and going back up. Make sure to read the signs! Also, there are no room keys/cards. Each room has a digital pad with a six-digit entry code. Everywhere you go you need to have a key fob and have or memorize the room entry code. There is one major complaint about our experience. My mother is 78 years old and has mobility issues. This resort and beach service is not handicap-friendly. The doors do not have a button to automatically open the doors. Everywhere you go you need a fob to get in. My mother uses a rolling walker, so trying to use the fob and open doors was nearly impossible for her to do alone. We prepaid for beach service, which was for 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas. There are no procedures in place to assist the disabled. Every day we struggled to get my mother some help to and from the seat. We asked for closer seats to the beach access and were told there was nothing they could do. Every day our chairs were further away from the beach access point until we were at the very end for the last 2 days. The chairs were nicely spaced out from 1-30, but 30-40 were crammed together so there was literally no space between you and your neighbor. Chairs 30-40 is where we spent our week. For beach service, you must swipe the fob at the beach access board. You will get an audio notification of where your seats are for that day. The seats change every day, which I don't like. The beach service guys say the chairs are randomly assigned, but I'm skeptical. Also, you must check in before 11 a.m. If you don't, they will resell your seats for the day, even though you paid for seats for the week. Their system is flawed, confusing, and unhelpful. read more

West tower. Great property. More rules than Del Boca Vista. After 4 days of throwing balls in the pool the Condo association president must have called the help to shut that down. Morty for President! Actually it's a very nice resort. Each condo is individually owned but ours was great. Recently redone. Facilities were very well maintained. We will be back for sure. With a single key fob, you can navigate yourself throughout the building with ease. Silver Beach Towers, by far, is my favorite place to book when staying in Destin. Service? Top notch. Rooms? Comfortable. View? Fabulous. The beds are comfy, which is a huge plus. I actually love the layout of the complex, it's very well laid out. Also we never had any issues in regard to the elevator situation, you know usually how much of a hassle it is on busy holidays. Service here was very on-point, any concerns we had regarding our needs and room were addressed promptly. The pool here is also fabulous as well, if you're not feeling salt water. Right on the beach with secured area...although I think this place need to lay off the security a bit, you cannot enter the condo without a key(so if your a party of 8 with 3 keys, good luck! You get kicked out of the pool area by 10 pm...sucks, so ya no midnight swim at the pool....maybe the beach. But otherwise, its nice, neat and clean. We also shouldn't have to pay for WIFI...that's ridiculous! read more

As a family, we have been vacationing on the Gulf for over 10 years at upscale to moderately expensive resorts. Silver Beach Towers has been an incredible experience. Due to recent VRBO scams, we rented directly through Compass Resorts. Their process is very easy and reliable and we found the sales staff very helpful. Check in was flawless and the fastest I have ever experienced at any resort. In less than 15 minutes, from the time we pulled into the resort, we were stepping into our condo. The condo is centrally located with a stop light right at the road into the complex. This is important because the road is very busy and you want to be able to easily make a right or left out of the complex. Parking at the condo is assigned, so that is not an issue. There is also ample additional parking. The complex itself is very well laid out. We did a lot of vacationing at, for example, places like the Beach Club in Gulf Shores, and the elevator situation was an absolute nightmare by comparison. During our entire stay thus far (we are halfway through our stay), we never had to wait on an elevator. In fact, it was a rare experience to even have to share the elevator. Total time from our condo to stepping on the beach? Less than five minutes. About three minutes to the pool and two minutes to the parking garage. Our condo itself was immaculate. Note, the condo we stayed in was managed by Compass Resorts. However, it was very clear to us that the owner took great pride of ownership. All electronics worked perfectly, there was surround sound throughout condo and on balcony, three flat screen TV's, modern new furniture, excess quality bath towels, a fully equipped kitchen, bottled water, etc.... I am a fanatic about cleanliness and look at a number of items to assess cleanliness, including baseboards. The boards were spotless, even in the corners. It is clear to me the cleaning /servicing company they use takes their job seriously. Even after a military type inspection, I could find no fault with the condo. A note on security: This condo does not mess around with security. It is clear they do not want to become another Panama City Beach, which I will never go back to again. There are security cameras throughout the resort including inside elevators and at the pool. Compass Resorts also staff's the facility 24 hours a day and the staff subtly patrols the grounds and take their job seriously. They inspect balconies regularly (from the ground), are constantly cleaning, help guide visitors, and ensure rules are followed (such as pool closing at 10pm and smoking is only done in designated areas). The resort uses an RFID key Fob system and wristband for access to parking, garage, building, pool, and even the private beach. If you do not belong in the resort, you will have a hard time getting in. I appreciate this level of security. However, if you want to drink and get rowdy or have kids that you choose not to control, this is probably not the place for you. The resort has two of the cleanest pools and hot tubs I have ever used. There was never any garbage in the pool area. The pool and beach entrance are equipped with showering areas and everything always worked perfectly. A common grilling area with gas fired outdoor grills is provided and pretty good, with a seating area. Bottom line, Destin Florida is now our favorite Gulf Destination stop and we will be back to Silver Beach Towers. This location, perhaps due to price, seems to attract a different type of crowd than Panama City Beach. Once again, if you are the type of crowd that intends to get rowdy, not follow rules, or otherwise intends on tearing the place up, this place is not for you. Also, if there is any underage drinking, they will evict your group immediately. read more

We stayed in a water front condo on the 16 floor and it was BEAUTIFUL! The interior was gorgeous and everything about our condo was amazing. I literally could not have asked for a better place to stay! If we were on the beach and at the pool we all had a great time drinking, eating, and just hanging out. It was a great experience. The only thing I felt completely uncomfortable about was one day we were swimming at the pool kind of early and a manager of some sort just kept staring at us. He was literally watching us for fifteen minutes and I felt like he wanted us to do something so he could come kick us out. After my friend accidentally threw a Frisbee too high he came over to "give us a warning" and asked us what condo we were staying in. In my opinion he was kind of being rude but whatever. Overall I had a great time! Beautiful place to stay and wonderful location on the beach. read more

Very nice condo, pools are great, and right next to the ocean. Two issues for me, one, read the pool rules prior to renting. I have two athletic boys that want to play nonstop. The pool doesn't allow throwing of any kind. So no pool toys or floatation of any kind. Also the beach rental place takes up almost all the areas with chairs and umbrellas. Since the tide doesn't move the beach doesn't get any bigger so be prepared for umbrella city. Overall a great condo and location, just recommend reading all rules and get a unit like we did that includes beach chairs and umbrella, less to bring. read more

What an amazing home Silver Beach Towers W1706 was! Sadly, we only experienced this amazing penthouse condo for a total of 12 hours. We checked in at 6pm Monday night, only to spend two hours planning our evacuation from Hurricane Michael Tuesday morning at 5am. We sadly didn't get to enjoy any time in this fabulous place. We were amazed at how clean the rental was, impressed with the new, clean, neutral and tasteful decor, it was truly high class! The space is amazing, no way to feel cramped in this penthouse unit. We really felt as if we were in our own beachfront house.....but yet this unit had all the amenities of the condo staff and pool and beach service. Having two masters is such a great addition for families traveling together, yet all of the other three bedrooms were amazing themselves. The patio furniture provides comfort and seating for everyone on the spacious deck.....with endless views of beaches and sunsets! It took us a long time to find this unique unit, and we are devastated we were only able to enjoy it for 12 hours during our one week rental! :( . We hope to try to make the trip from Colorado to visit again some day! Sadly, we didn't purchase trip insurance and are out our entire rental fee. :( read more

We just returned from a week in unit 403 E very disappointed been to Silver Beach two other times and truely enjoyed our stay and the facilities. This time rented via Compass not VRBO the unit smelled musty, was right next to Trash dump site so the hall smelled like trash and every time we open the door to the condo could smell trash. Several lamps with bulbs that did not work, the air conditioning system was poor. The master suite stayed very warm and if you turned down the temp to 68 to try to cool the master bedroom the rest of the Condo guest where to cold. Very very disappointed and very disappointed with the responce from the staff on site. Do your self a favor do not rent 403 E. Not to mention that the owners have decided to discontinue the phone service in this unit so if you need 911 good luck you know your cell phone signals come and go. Lets just hope the signal is their when you need it. PS also could use a update on TV sets and bedding When you rent higher end you expect higher end sorry read more

We recently stayed at Silver Beach Towers which we found on VRBO/booked through Five Star Living and were very disappointed. We will NOT be back. We have been coming to Destin for 29 years and have stayed at MANY places up and down the coast as the size/ needs of our family has changed.. The biggest issue we had was the beach set-up. There are 3 rows of umbrellas/chairs so close together you can hardly get to the ocean. Apparently, they have a new policy in effect since May that you may call 2 weeks before your arrival and put in your request for your beach chairs. The sooner you call, the better your chance of getting on the front row. The manager for Silver Beach told us they communicated this information with all the owners and rental companies. We booked this place in February and we were NEVER told of this policy. In 29 years, we have never had to "reserve" our spot. And since we did not reserve it until check-in, we were at the bottom of the totem pole the entire week- even though we rented 2 more sets of chairs/umbrellas, in addition to our 1 free set. The view the entire week was of other people sitting in their chairs. We are not one of those families that spends a lot of time in the room or shopping, golfing, etc. We come to sit on the beach so you can imagine our frustration. Some other things that did not match up to what was described:We had 7 people in our party. The description says it sleeps 10 and that there is plenty of space...the table only seated 6. The den area where we would gather to watch TV or play games also only sat 6 comfortable. The full-size washer? It conserves water so you cannot run a full load. There was only 1 tennis court- yet it says courts. The blender was broken when we arrived- they did replace that. It also says there is an ice maker- which we are accustomed to. All the unit had was a very small one that was part of the refrigerator- not nearly enough ice for 7 people hanging out at the beach. Every day, we had to buy 1-2 bags of ice. The on-site manager was rude and condescending and the beach set-up crew said all the right things but they clearly could care less. We paid WAY too much money for this experience. In the future, we will spend our hard-earned money elsewhere and I will think long and hard before booking with VRBO or Five Star Living. read more
