This restaurant is fairly large, but broken into smaller rooms that feel cozy and have a romantic vibe. The service was a bit slow, but not terrible. My review of the food is mixed because my wife loved what she had and I thought what I ordered was meh. Starting with my wife, she had a draft beer (good) and the Braised Beef Brisket with carrots, mushrooms, and broccolini, topped with fried crispy onions and a birria sauce. It was served with a side of mashed potatoes. She said it was one of the best beef briskets she has had, and she has had many beef briskets! So that was high praise indeed. I had the Wok Chicken and Tempura Scampi, wok vegetables, served on rice with a peanut/mango sauce, which I thought sounded great. Unfortunately, the tempura was not at all crispy or light, which is the whole point of tempura. The chicken and the shrimp were not flavorful and it was served on plain white rice. The vegetables did not seem wok fried and instead were steamed veggies (or so it seemed to me). All in all, it was one of those dishes that looked good on paper, but not so much in reality.

This was a nice place to stop and have an afternoon bite after exploring Bryggen and the cable car up the mountain. We sat on the patio which has heaters and blankets for those chilly days. You order food and drinks at the bar and they bring them to your table, which was fine but I would have preferred table service. We got the fish soup, broccoli and garlic bread and it was great. Pricey but that's Norway for ya. Took off a couple of stars for no table service and long wait time for food to be delivered. The view and setting make up for it.

Great place for a meal and a beer. We had lunch inside on a chilly and rainy day. Inside was warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a thickened style fish stew with cod and salmon. It could have used some additional seasoning. This was a second visit for me and I would certainly return. They had great looking pizza.

This is the seafood stew/soup and it was loaded with seafood!

We stumbled across this lovely outdoor restaurant & loved the food so much we ate lunch each day in lovely sunshine. The servers were very helpful. My husband fell in love with the seafood stew/soup. I enjoyed the chicken sandwich. Nice choice of beers. We never ventured into the building attached to the garden part.

A kids playroom in the back of the restaurant

Staff was great and so patient with our huge party (5 kids under 7, grandpa and 4 adults), food was decent (I think only one Norwegian dish? Bummer but with 5 kids we were looking for easy). There's a kids room in the back and they put us away from everyone in a back room which was fantastic. If you have small kids, DEFINITELY worth it. I got to have TWO drinks.

Quick and easy. Open later and serves food. You can order at the bar or table using the QR code. I have the Fish and chips and subbed the fries for a baked potato. Everything was good.

Menu contained a number of Norwegian dishes of seafood, meat (including reindeer) and vegetarian. We knew ahead of time we wanted to try the plukkfisk and gratinated fish pie. The pie was the best dish for us that night. It had a nice and creamy texture along with a crunch on the crust due to the frying. It was a light dish compared to the plukkfisk. The plukkfisk was quite heavy with this fish/mashed potato mixture and while the fried bacon added some texture it could've used a little more acid for our tastes.

They have free wifi and the password is at the bottom of one of the blackboard behind the bartender. Opted for the reindeer filet and it was excellent. The reindeer was cooked to a perfect medium and seared to perfection on the outside. The flavors were excellent and this was served with a side of fried potatoes, green beans along with a bed of creamy mushroom. The vibes from the Gen Z staff were lit too. Seems like they were complaining about bf issues... Pricing may be elevated as I'm not sure if this was a tourist trap as I didn't see any locals. 495 NOK for lunch.

In fact I think our server was the owner, and he let us know that his wife was the cook (after we complimented our meals). Our friend ordered the last available flank steak. Everything came out timely and was delicious! There was enough food to go around and no one left hungry. I'm really glad that our friend stumbled upon this restaurant. It was not crowded and had a lovely evening atmosphere for our last evening in town. It was walkable from our Airbnb and in a cute neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

A few helpful hints: Ask the bartender for a menu, take a seat and then head back up to the bar to place your order. They have a pitcher of water at the end of the bar with glasses so no need to add an extra expense for bottled water. Remember on Sunday a bar or restaurant is the only spot you will get alcohol so don't think you can grab some beer at the Kiwi or Rema and drink at home/hotel. I got the herring with lingonberries which sounded weird to me but after the first bite I was sold!! I cleaned the whole plate with ease because it was so good. The prices are affordable compared to other spots in Norway so assure you go downstairs because the menu and prices are different.

Great decor - semi minimal but warm and cozy. I dig it. The goods: After eating random Icelandic cuisine for a few days, I was really looking for something light. The dressing was similar to a Caesar dressing, which appealed to me less but it was good nonetheless. I got some raspberry juice and that was a lovely treat.
