Amazing baklava and wonderful treatment from the owner! i highly recommend one of their Turkish coffees to eat with the baklava

This review is long because I feel that most people, or maybe just my girlfriend and I, aren't very familiar with Egyptian food and I wanted to capture our experience as newbies but TLDR: it was good, go check it out Our first at time Egyptian Delights, and while we were hesitant at first due to the mixed reviews we ended up really enjoying it! The owner Ezzeldin, was super helpful in telling us about the Vegan options he offers and was very courteous throughout our experience. The food: My girlfriend and I both enjoyed it quite a bit. She ordered the Falafel Plate which came with a tahini sauce and a salad, not a huge portion size but was quite tasty. I ordered the Vegan Goulash which came with a tasty mix of veggies inside filo dough and the same side salad that the falafel came with. I thought the salad paired as a really nice refresher to go with the goulash. However, while the salads themselves weren't anything special they were still quite enjoyable with the other food as stated above. We also ordered a side dish/appetizer to share, Stuffed Grape Leaves. We had never heard of that before but we decided to give it a go considering the reasonable prices. We were a little surprised by the strong flavor it had at first but it grew on us rather quickly. Overall it was a good experience and we plan to go again! Also another quick note: The decor was super neat and there were cool pamphlets on Islam as well as other related business cards. read more

The place was Open but empty when we visited today evening. However, there was no one to attend us. We waited for 5-7 minutes and after clicking some pics of the place as it looked nice, we left. Highly Disappointed!! Please put up a CLOSED sign if you are not available. read more

"Izzy" made me the best Turkish coffee I have ever had! He told me he makes it with love, but when pressed,revealed a secret combination of spices. I asked him to serve me his specialty - it was a baklava kind of main dish with diced and ground beef, and stuffed grape leaves. What I loved most was a conversation with him about pursuing his own business after coming here from Egypt. It's a rough road, and so grateful for an hour of cultural enlightenment and sharing. Scam and legit bizarre experience. Totally empty with one staff member who said she couldn't make half the menu. I forget the name of my dish but is was half an overcooked hamburger stuffed into a pita with some hummus on it along with pickle slices and gross looking olives. I paid 6 bucks for this and it didn't even come with rice. At least I can go to McDonald's to get a full burger, fries and drink for $6. read more

Take a chance and try Egyptian Delights Cafe! I had the Koftah (a beef and lamb mixture sausage, served with a sesame sauce and pickled vegetables), grape leaves, gollash (a meat lasagna that beats its Italian counterpart), and falafel. The falafel was by far the best falafel I've ever had in my life. The proprietor uses a mix of fava and chickpeas and serves it with a sesame sauce. And lastly, the baklava. It is made with pistachio and a good amount of honey. Try it out! The plates are small and extremely well priced. Visit, eat, enjoy and talk with the proprietor, he is a great man! Great meatballs in tomato sauce! My husband had the gollash and really enjoyed his meal. If you've never had the baklava here - it's a must! The owner was very personable and shared stories and answered all our questions. We will definitely return! read more

Stopped by here today (Wednesday, October 17th) at 12:30. Sign said OPEN, door was locked. Hours are supposed to be 10am to 9pm. Nobody near the front of the restaurant inside. If you post hours the least you could do is be open, especially when the front sign says, "OPEN". read more

This lil tucked away place has delicious food for an amazing price. I had the best falafel and baklava I've had in over ten years! We were the only people in the place, so it was rather quiet. I hope more people discover this little café. read more
