Quality care from someone who really knows what she's doing, and cares for her patients like they were old friends.

On April 14th I called because the tip of the hearing aid got stuck in my mother's ear. It usually takes 5-10 minutes for them to remove the piece. The hearing aid also needed a minor repair which also normally takes just 5-10 minutes. I called at 9:15 and left a message explaining the issue, but didn't receive a call back. I called again at 10:30 and the receptionist told me she would call us back. By 1:00 we hadn't heard from them so I had to take my mother to Sutter Urgent Care which took two hours. By the end of the day, we still had not heard from SC EN&T Medical Group. The next day, I took the hearing aid into the Water St. location for the repair. While I was trying to explain what needed to be done to one person, the receptionist who I talked to on the phone the previous day interrupted and claimed she tried to call us back. Well, we all know our cell phones provide a list of incoming and outgoing calls and none of the three phone numbers (mine, my sister's, or my mother's) shows a call from SC EN&T and no message was left. This review gets two stars only because the woman who helped me when I dropped off the hearing aid for repair (I think "Molly") was gracious, ready to listen, and it was ready to be picked up within an hour after I dropped it off. I understand the office is busy and people need to wait in line for service, but at the same time, consideration should be given when you know you have a 100 year-old client with a problem that can be fixed in 5-10 minutes. Instead, we had to go to Urgent Care where our mother was potentially exposed to sick people and falling asleep in the waiting room. I also do not appreciate being interrupted while I'm trying to explain a concern. Be respectful.

I specifically asked, working in medical background as a nurse, to check our insurance to confirm we are in network. She did, confirmed my insurance and then also confirmed they are in network. So.. 3 hours later, I receive a call letting me know that for my upcoming appt, my insurance is not in network and the office wanted to let me know. So I responded and said, that's strange as I specifically had your coworker who made the appt, check our insurance while I was on the phone. The lady said that she's the only one that checks insurance. After letting her know that I'm in the medical field and that's not how that works, and usually when a referral is sent the doctors office checks insurance before phoning the patient to schedule the appt and that I could've spent the last 3 hours looking for an alternative place for our serious issue we were benign seen the following day for. Horrible horrible horrible office with horrible staff. Delaying a pediatric patient the needed imaging to rule out cancer because of your incompetent staff. The 2nd lady that phone me to inform me they do not accept our insurance admitted the first last that phoned me needs more training. From reviews.. it seems the entire office does. You're here for the damn patients, remember that.

Lyons is not my main provider, but I saw her that day to get a referral and I was told no other providers were available that day. She listened to my problem, but didn't do a whole lot to help me solve it. I explained that the pain in my jaw had been getting worse in the past couple days and asked if the referral to a surgeon could be expedited after she told me it would take at least 4-5 days to be processed. She said no, that's how long the process takes. I then asked if she knew if my swollen gums were possibly caused by a bacteria and if I could get anti-inflammatory medication to help as I wait for a referral. She was short with me, answering only with, "I don't know. I wouldn't know if it's bacterial." She was completely unsympathetic and slightly argumentative, not doing anything to make me less worried and scared about this whole ordeal. I also found out that she wrote "routine" instead of "urgent" for the referral status she put in for me, even after I'd told her this is an emergency and I had been continuously taking pain meds to relieve my pain for the past week.

They will pull all of the important hearing tests and properly educate you about tinnitus so you won't believe stuff you see online. I now carry around ear plugs attached to my keys everywhere I go. I may not be able to control random loud sounds outside but I can control how I react. Every interaction, from scheduling an appointment, to experiencing your first consultation, to the customised and meticulous nature of the solutions to your hearing needs, is handled with such care, empathy, and authenticity. In my case, I went in searching for custom hearing plugs as I experience some very loud environments with my job and in my day-to-day life. Dr. Patty sat down with me and walked me through every step: educating me on how the inner workings of the ear, the methodology she has honed to create the custom mould, and how to find the ideal reduction in decibels that would best suit my needs. You are also given the option of picking from a variety of colours! Dr. Patty then brings you back in for a fitting and followup to ensure the plugs are the perfect size and achieve your protection needs with a comprehensive audio test (If you're lucky she will also bless you with a plethora of fun animal facts!) I am blown away by the level of care I was provided with. To Jalisa, Melissa, and Dr. Patty, thank you SO much for being such amazing people and for all of your time and help. I am a young man, 43, and I bought my first hearing aids about 3 years ago. I didn't have a good experience with the "big" company where I purchased them from. So, living close to DHS, I decided to stop in and inquire about their services. DHS is run by Dr. Michelle an audiologist boasting 37 years experience. I walked in and she was finishing up with a client. Her husband was the receptionist so we chatted while I waited. Very nice man! Anyways, she saw me and I told her I was there to inquire about what services she offered, cleaning, repair, e.g. She asked to see my right hearing aid and took it behind a partition in the same room. She proceeded to work on it hidden out of sight within a few feet. She then frantically started going into the other room and out to her car looking for a "special" cleaning tool. Why wouldn't she carry it with her? She ended up breaking my hearing aid and her excuse was she didn't have her "special " tool which was the size of a pinky nail?!!?! Anyways, she wanted me to leave my hearing aid with her all weekend!?!? I wasn't comfortable with that. Being a Friday, I said I'd come back Monday(Friday & Monday's are the two days she is at this particular office), I returned on Monday and with her "tool" she couldn't fix my hearing aid which worked before she ever laid hands on it. DO NOT USE THIS PERSON FOR YOUR HEARING ISSUES!!!!! She did apologize, but in a world of expensive $$$ hearing aids, an apology is absolutely NOTHING!
