Got fitted for and purchased some custom 25db reduction earplugs from here after I stumbled across the /r/tinnitus Internet forum and started having nightmares about potentially ruining my life by going to concerts or loud movie theaters. Whole experience totally exceeded my expectations. Plugs fit like a dream (Dr. Anderson, who is excellent, noted that I have small ears and it's a good thing I came in for custom plugs since over-the-counter products probably don't work for me, which is true) and I now wear these daily. I can now work out in my living room with the air conditioner on without being distracted by the noise, attend music festivals without fear, and watch 3-hour films in the theater with greater enjoyment (I took my mother out to The Sound of Music a few days ago and had these in the whole time). On top of all this, Dr. Anderson even cleaned out my ears for me! (I have a recurring earwax issue and need to get that done annually.) I usually go to urgent care for that kind of thing and deal with awkward nurses manually squirting cold water in my ears, so having a doctor with specialized equipment and warm water felt quite nice. Dr. Novick deserves nothing BUT 5 stars for running such a magnificent clinic. A lot of us take our perfect hearings and no-issue ears as granted, until something happens to them. The ear is complicated and lots of things can go wrong with it. ENTs will usually tell you to just let it go, when they say that a surgical intervention cannot help you. That's when you need a good audiologist. Now about audiologists. I have seen a few in the Valley, and while they all have been very competent, a lot of them behave like optometrists. They wanna do a hearing test and make sure they get accurate measurements and then recommend a solution based on your needs. But what if your hearing is perfect, your ear is also in a clinically good condition, but there are some things that are still bothering you. You've had an acoustic trauma and your ears are far more sensitive now, you have crackling, or hissing. All kinds of things can happen. This is when you see Dr. Novick. She is so well-informed about everything and is up-to-date with the latest research and technology. Just talking to her puts you at ease. She got custom earplugs made for me and I'm loving them and I know whenever I have a question or a concern I will either get a quick Zoom appointment with her or go see her at her office. We went in to get ear wax removal for my son. The doctor looked at his ear and immediately said she couldn't do anything about it because it was too deep. Yet we were still charged $73. The head of this organization, Dr. Novick, was out of town when I phoned the office to make an appointment. I was assured that Dr, Novick's assistant did excellent ear-cleaning. Water was circulated through the ear canals, and after the procedure was over I was told that, despite the buildup of wax, there was none left. That night, when my partner looked into my ears, she saw that the hair in the canals hadn't been touched and in the right ear there was some wax. It was almost impossible to look the canals. The prices quoted over the phone had been in a stated range of $75-$145. Though I'd been charged the the top price, only half the job had been done. read more

I had the bad luck to be sent to another hearing center for my hearing aids. They were so badly programmed that they were useless. I ask my insurance provider to another referral and they give me Silicon Valley Hearing, Inc. What good luck! After my first visit Dr. Novick changed the programming so I knew I was using hearing aids. Next my wife told me that I could not hear her. She and I went to Dr. Novick and after another great session of testing and programming my hearing is nearly perfect! My third visit was just a checkup. I told the Doctor that one of the ends of the hearing aids was loose and she fixed it immediately. All of the above with a very professional Doctor who puts the patients needs first. Dr. Novick puts the patient first and never is out of time to answer any question, or provide advice. If all professionals took a page from Dr. Novicks book going to any professional would be a pleasure rather than a chore. A rating of 5 is not really high enough.
