It seems San Francisco gets typecast depending on which neighborhood you go to . I have been fortunate to understand the different neighborhoods across San Francisco living in more than eight different neighborhoods. One neighborhood which always gets a reputation of being stuck up is the Marina. If you ever spend enough time in the Marina this notion is false. The Marina showed true grit and resilience after the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. I seen a lot of people get loose and have some fun in the Marina especially on Chestnut street( this includes adventures with the cool Don Juan himself). There are plenty of places to enjoy some of good food and drinks. There is one place which you will see the sense of humor of the Marina and the city of San Francisco and it's called Ei Home on Chestnut street. On a Spring stroll in Marina in the San Francisco sun I landed on Chestnut street at Ei home . Inside you will find some interesting novelties for sale. They have hats and bags with different designs . You can even find a laptop sleeve and some colorful towels . They have lot of humorous novelty items. The items here are a few levels above the tourist trap gifts you will find by Fisherman's Wharf. They have everything to candles and pillows with monuments of San Francisco. Get a leg up on Christmas shopping early with random stocking stuffers year round at Ei home a homage to my home of San Francisco. They say the Marina is all stuck up you are getting fed a bunch of "lies" I visited here for decades I experienced it with my own "eyes" if you discover it more it becomes a pleasant "surprise" go to A16 where pizza gets cut with scissors and go to Little Original Joe's for the "Zucchini Fries" Go to Chestnut and find early birds eating brunch outside in the sun and also the late night "diner" or go to a bar and possibly see a former SF Giants player or a former "Forty Niner "and go to the Studio on Chestnut and pose for a photo like your a model wearing clothes made by a fashion "designer" and then go shop at Ei Home located on Chestnut between Pierce street and "Steiner" read more

Ei Home is FABULOUS. This is a darling gift shop with an incredible selection of wonderful items. I particularly love their Jelly Cat selection. It is so much fun to browse and buy here. Super cute store filled with home goods and gift ideas for everyone! We stopped by to kill time before a dinner reservation nearby. It reminds me of Therapy but with more unique items. The staff were friendly and helpful with answering any questions. My sister ended up getting a small ring with a dangling heart charm ($40) and I found a small bow tie for my baby shiba ($20). I visited this cute store over the weekend & they have a large selection of candles & home fragrances including reed diffusers, perfect as a gift or for your home in addition to a variety of cute & whimsical home gifts. They have one section specific to unique San Francisco items, perfect for a visitor to the city or for a keepsake or gift. I bought some ice cube trays (one produces large, diamond shaped cubes) & a silicone, sloth shaped tea diffuser. I didn't see any shopping baskets but my hands were full carrying my items. This store has a lot of really cute home items and an impressive selection of different candles. I'd recommend the Frasier Fir by the brand Thymes. It smells amazing and exactly like being out in the woods. I've bought it a few times because I use it up quickly but now since it's summer I'm going to hold off again until fall. I also really like their selection of ceramic coasters with different painted designs. It's fun to mix and match and they bring character to the apartment. read more

Stopped here as I was searching for a gift for my mom's birthday. I was very surprised; i think this place is a hidden gem compared to the other boutiques along this street. There are so many candles, kind of pricey but their uniqueness and variety compensated for a $40 candle. I think this store is great for gifts for family, friends, and coworkers. There is a great selection of handmade cards and cool things. I would definitely come back and highly recommend. The cashier was also nice. He wrapped the candle in bubble wrap and paper, which I found really helpful and nice because I didn't ask. read more

I came across this little shop during a morning coffee run, the shop qas closed so i came back later when they were open. They had lots of nice things to pick from. They have lots of home decor, books, trinkets and san francisco themed gifts to choose from. I picked up a few trinket dishes to give out as gifts. Hours later i came back when i noticed i needed a few more gifts for people at work. I came back and bought more and i also picked up this cute chonky stuffed cat. I saw it earlier but when i came back i coulsnt stop thinking about it so i had to bring him home with me its just the most adorable thing ive ever seen. I placed candy in the dishes and going to give them out at work, the look so nice and the quality of the dishes are amazing. The person behind the counter was very friendly and attentive and made my shopping experience enjoyable. I recomend shopping here for gifts if you are travelling. Since we are required to stay in place and the store is currently closed, I emailed the address posted on the store front and inquired about availability of a couple greeting cards from the website. Eric was responsive and flexible and I went the following day to pick up ( curbside) my purchase of rifle paper co. cards. I received 15% off my purchase. I live right around the corner from this cute shop and will definitely be supporting them not only through COVID-19, but when things open back up. I used to love this place when it was on Union Street. It was cool and classy with rare artwork and furniture from all over the world. Unfortunately, it has degraded to a place that sells tacky trinkets, socks and coffee cups with the word "F#%k " on them. It's funny everywhere you look , you see "F#%K, F#&k and F#%K. The atmosphere is coarse and degrading. It's disappointing that the owner has taken the load road by selling junk. I won't be going back. read more

I am impressed with the service of this place! It's a cute store on chestnut & what drew me in was the furniture sale sign. It's not really a furniture store but they have a few pieces if Asian chest? Tables for sale. They actually sell candles, diffusers, jellycat books & stuff animals ! The jellycat stuff animals r very plushy, soft, &!well made. It appears they have a store on union st. & the EI stand for Eurasian interiors. Ruth, lady at the cash register, gave me the wrong book which I didn't realized until I arrived home. Naturally I'm Somewhat upset since I live about 45 min away & wasn't sure when I would return to chestnut st to exchange the book. Ruth was so nice. Nice store but horrible customer service. They shipped an item we bought as a gift, they wrapped it poorly, and the item broke. We went back to the store and they said there was nothing they could do, and offered no other deal. This was for the store in Hayes Valley, not listed on yelp. read more

TERRIBLE customer service!!!! I never usually write a bad review but the salesman at the Union Street store (which is closing but still wanted to let everyone know) was so rude when I brought back a candle that he sold me a week ago which caved in after 10 mins of it being lit for the first time and now the wick is trapped. I tried fixing it but nothing worked. He told me that I would have to call the candle company and that there was nothing he could or would do about it. Then he tried blaming me for the candle melting that way and after telling him politely that I was disappointed that there was nothing he could do he yelled at me and basically ran me out of the store. I have worked in retail and that is not how you treat a customer or a human-being. Ei has lost my businesses and I am extremely disappointed with this company.
