Stopped by and showed it to Howard the owner, and even though he was short handed today, he said let me see what I can do and started working on it right on the spot. 30 or so minutes later of him carefully working on it, I had it back in my hands with no signs of damage and as good as new. Not only was he super nice and an expert at his craft, but he didn't even want to accept payment. I couldn't believe the gold of a person that he is. I will always remember and talk about my experience today to anyone I know and will never go anywhere else if I ever have any upholstery needs. Howard is a genuine angel. read more

I just picked up my hassock which I took to Eidem's Upholstery to give it a new life. It is now gorgeous--and shows great care to detail. I requested a specific type of stitch and Ed, one of the upholsters, did it beautifully--I am in awe of the workmanship and they included extra stuffing, as well! I would highly recommend this artisan upholstery shop. As a bonus, the hassock was finished earlier than quoted. I don't think I could have purchased a new hassock to match the same quality as my now reupholstered one. I didn't want to toss this little hassock when it began to show heavy wear and tear. I recently called 5 upholstery shops in Seattle to do a unique project, wanted to turn a queen size mattress into a V-Berth mattress for my boat. Howard graciously accepted the challenge when others hung up on me. He only had 1 condition that I help with the project. I gladly accepted. While in his shop on Saturday, I noticed how busy he was, customers came in and out picking up and dropping of furniture. One customer a lady stood out. Howard did some minor repair on a piece she had brought to him. When she asked how much do I owe you he said, "nothing".. After she left, Howard mentioned the lady during a conversation with a co worker and bragged about her volunteer work she does for the community.. He was just giving back in his way I guess.. Back to my mattress, Saturday turned into Sunday & even though he was closed he came in to finish my V-Berth.. We worked with Howard before and were satisfied. This was two years ago. This time around we wanted to hire him again to work on another sofa. He kept giving us the runaround (e.g wasn't responding to voicemails or emails). We finally got a hold of him and set up an appointment to have him give us a quote on the work we wanted done. We were extremely impressed with Howard and his fabulous upholsterers. My old hide-a-bed couch had 12 years of human and canine abuse and was in dire need of an overhaul. Howard was extremely patient and informative and we chose a black recycled leather to recover it. We also needed new foam for the seat cushions and had some extra padding put into the back. Not only does it look amazingly sophisticated Howard was also able to get the work done with only 2.5 weeks! The price was completely reasonable - we would have paid far more for a new couch that looks this good and we were able to keep a piece of furniture that had a lot of sentimental value. I had an old psychiatrist's couch given to me which was in very shabby and deplorable condition. The fabric was split apart and the inner springs had given way. After discussion with the owner, I went through their selection of fabrics on sale and found one I I loved. It retailed originally for $85 yard and I got it for $20 yard!! The owner picked up the piece at my home and once completed, delivered it to me. Several times during the process I stopped by to visit and found all the workers employed there willing to talk and show me how my piece was coming along. The progress was a bit slower than promised but the results were stunning and well worth the extra week. My couch is beautiful and the springs were tightened and restored. I was completely satisfied and highly recommend this shop. read more

It is very difficult for me to write this review. I actually never received service from this company. I originally contacted them because of their favorable Yelp reviews. I was looking for a repair job on my sofa and also for a re-upholstery job on a chair. I sent a request through their website, but I also stopped by the shop one day since I was actually driving by and was in the neighborhood and the gentleman in the shop gave me the email address of the owner Howard and said it would be better to contact him directly by email. I sent him a very detailed email and photos of the 2 projects. He did reply regarding the sofa, but didn't give me a response as to the chair and also to the timing and logistics of picking up the sofa. He had also sent me text messages. It was very confusing. I repeatedly responded to both his text messages and his emails repeatedly over and over again, again requesting further information regarding the sofa and the chair, asking for quotes and further information, again sending him photos. I had to continually follow up by text and email asking for response, each time feeling like I was starting all over again. This went on for over a month. In one last attempt I sent a final text over a week ago asking one more time, finally giving up on the chair project, but still asking him about the sofa. Still no response from him. I have decided now to give my business to someone else. read more

We are so impressed with their service. They allowed us to take as many fabric books as we wanted home with us to make sure the colors fit with our lighting and decor. There was no pressure or upselling at all. Once our fabric arrived, they picked up our loveseat to take back to their shop a week before Christmas. They said we would have it back in time and we did, even when half their staff was out because of the flu and colds that were going around. Once they had the loveseat reupholstered, they let us come in for a sit test to make sure we got the firmness or softness we wanted. These guys never returned my phone calls and several years later, they keep asking me to review their service. I don't usually give poor reviews for a company that I never actually used, because I don't think it's all that helpful. But it's bad practice to keep asking for ratings (they've send me multiple emails to two different accounts) when I never actually received their service. If they have two of my email addresses, they should also have a record of the fact that I never gave them any money. Maybe they're great. But I wouldn't know because they never called me back at the time we needed them. read more

I called for status report on sofa Sept. 15 & received no reply. Called Sept 16 and Harold answered & said he would bring sofa to my house (assume it's done?) after 3pm today. He talked us through fabric options, how to save some money on the trim, promised he'd get it done by Thanksgiving, and did all those things. I took an old bench to another upholstery shop before going to Eidem and they gave me a exorbitantly high price to replace the broken springs and recover the bench. Then I went to Eidem. I could tell they were extremely busy but they took the time to look at my bench and showed me how to take it apart and easily repair and recover the bench myself without new springs. The price they quoted for them to repair it was much less than the other shop. I was very impressed that as busy as they were, they took the time to show me how I could do it myself which is what I plan to do. read more

Howard and the rest of his crew are awesome! I had an old chair that has been in my family for a while and needed some work. I called around town and gave measurements to get some quotes. Howard's prices were the best by far, and in the end the work was amazing! My wife and I are extremely happy with the finished product. He went over a lot of different fabric options and prices with us. He was extremely helpful. Chair looks better now than it ever has. Howard even helped accommodate getting it back to us in a timely matter. He said it would take a few weeks, I told him we had a party coming up and he said he would get it done before that date. I had no problem communicating with them, any time I called I either got an answer at that time or a call/email back shortly afterward As an added bonus, I don't know if he does his normally, but he dropped it off at our place since we lived on the way to his wife's work and had to drive by our place anyways. Then, I ended up choosing filling that was too hard, and asked if they would redo them for free with the softer option. Have an almost 70 year old club chair that was at death's door. Howard rebuilt it and reupholstered it and it is solid and beautiful. I used them twice--a glutton for punishment? The first time I walked in to check on things just as they were in the middle of recovering my two chairs--wrong. Fortunately they were able to remedy their mistake. So could have been worse. The second time I stopped by to check the fabric I'd ordered for a window seat--and they'd accidentally used it on someone else's project in process! I reordered the fabric (at their expense, fortunately) and eventually got my seat. At the same time they made 8 dining chair cushions rather than the 4 I asked for (they didn't charge).
