Ahhh such a good group of staff here. There's a breakfast time, a break between 12-1pm, then the kitchen reopens at 1pm. The restaurant is opened during break for coffee, but the kitchen doesn't make food. I prefer restaurants that stay open even if kitchen is closed, at least I can sit for coffee. You know how Madrid restaurants don't accurately put their hours online... ahhh Both coffee and the food were good! I had the mushroom risotto, a bit salty but flavourful. And everyone is so kind here. You do have to pay for bread (on the side) though, for about 0,50€

Just finished wine and sparkling water under the shade.

Good location near Retiro Park and The Prado. Wine was good not great. They brought the standard tasty potato chips and also some pickled shallots and olives. Kitchen was closed when we came at 3pm. Service was good but slow. Outdoor seating area was nice but a little dirty. Didn't spend time inside. Overall decent place to have a glass of wine outside.

Canonigos salad, delicious! I do not have this green leaf at home in America so i enjoyed it as much as possible today

Love the duck confit, couscous and canonigos salad is out of this world, highly recommended and well located by paseo del Prado. Customer service sucks a little but in general Spain has bad customer service, focus on finding quality food and you will be fine.

    Gazpacho and sangria

Great place to grab a bite after the Prado. It's in a quiet area--seems like a million miles from Ritiro or Puerta del Sol. Good mix of fish selections, and land based foods. As with most small restaurants, there is only one server, so the service is slow. But food and sangria are good!

WOW. Best meal we have had in Spain. The risotto was amazing. The bread was awesome. We may just eat the rest of our meals in Madrid here

Located just outside of Puerta de Sol. This is a great place to enjoy Espana tapas and a drink!…read more The tapa portions are very large: the small size anchovies, contains two pieces of bread with 5 white anchovy fillets, diced onions, green olives, drizzled with olive oil. For a savory entree, I recommend the oxtail stew: 10 pieces of delectable oxtails in a brown gravy sauce. This tasted more like a beef pot roast, rather than a tomato style gravy. The oxtails are paired with thick cut fries.

This spot was the one for our first Tapas dinner for this Madrid visit. Roomy inside with some…read moreoutdoor seating. Empty as we were early for dinner around 7 so we took a table outside. They do have a Sister location next door -difference is less Tapas and Paella is on the menu. We started with Sangria and the Alhambra house brew. The Beer was billed as an IPA but tasted more like an Ale-very good. The Sangria was a bit sweet and refreshing. Complimentary Manchego cheese was a nice touch. Our Server warned us that their Tapas are larger than the typical size and she wasn't kidding-more like Tapas on steroids. We started with the Goat Cheese with onion and blueberry sauce. I don't think I've had fried Goat cheese and this was delicious. Blueberry sauce takes it over the top. Tortilla Omelette (Spanish Omelette) was filled with eggs/onions-very good. Last Tapa was the Cured Iberian Loin. Again, big portion. The surprise was the flat chicken breast and peppers under the Loin. This one was ok. Decided to share the Rice with 1/2 Lobster. Sauce was tasty mixed with the Rice as well Lobster. Not much Lobster though. Service was excellent with our Server patiently answering all of our questions. They've been around for almost 100 years. Don't miss the Goat Cheese Tapa!
