Very consistent, good Mexican food. Hot sauce is poppin! We have been going here since they were located at oak view mall and have tried most of the menu and have not been disappointed

Six months ago, I discovered El Alambre and raved about their Carne Asada burritos. Those are still excellent ....but now I can't get enough of their tamales and queso tacos with carne asada! Their tamales and tacos are really moist and full of meat and flavor.

Five stars all around the food was amazing some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. I got the marinated chicken over chilaquiles and it was delicious and spicy. I personally love hot sauce and my dish was so spicy that I did not need extra sauce which is a rare thing for me. So if you like heat it is a must try. My husband had the marinated pork burrito and he ate the whole thing with a little bite for me!! We will definitely be back. The restaurant is very small with only two tables and a little bit of counter seating. We did opt to eat there which was fine for us since there were only two of us. The men working at the restaurant were very nice. We mentioned it was our first time and he really walked us through the options and made great suggestions!

Another place I drive past weekly, if not daily. Decided to check it out and was not disappointed! Ordered the alambres, with side order of 1/2 arroz 1/2 frijoles. So much food! The alambres was amazing. Sauteed steak, bacon, chorizo, bell pepper, onion and cheese. Served with street taco sized corn tortillas. I prefer the frijoles over the arroz here (normally I prefer the rice over beans at most places), but the mix of the beans and rice was delicious.

The Mexican food in West Omaha is bleh at best. The local not-to-be-named chain that everyone tells you you've got to try when moving to Omaha just doesn't cut it. It's average at best. There are a couple we enjoy (e.g., El Vallarta) but as far as authentic Mexican food, I'd not found it out here. So, I was excited to give El Alambre a try in this location at 168th and Harrison. And, let me tell you, it's good. I've only been a couple of times and can only speak to the options I've tried. I've had the chicken and chicken adobado tacos and they are both great, though I prefer the adobado. Plenty of meat, two fresh corn tortillas, cilantro, onion, and guac. So good. I had a tamale the other day and it was very good, too. I prefer a thicker masa with my tamale and this one fits that bill. I went back for more a few days later but they were sold out or didn't have them ready yet? So, it may be hit or miss with tamales on availability. Maybe I just caught them on an off day. The location itself is fairly small, a few tables, some counter seating and not much else. So, for me during COVID times takeout is the way to go. But, I definitely plan to add this to my rotation of lunch/dinner options when looking for Mexican food. It's great.

I've been meaning to go to this place for months and finally one night we just decided to go for it! So glad we did. Many people on the Omaha food lovers page were commenting that this was some of the most authentic Mexican food in West Omaha and the majority doesn't doesn't lie. The prices, even, were extremely affordable. We spent just a little under $50 for a family of six (2 adults and 4 kids) and I kid you not, we had enough leftovers for two more additional meals. We ordered carne asada nachos, carnitas burrito, Carne Asada burrito, chorizo platter, Birria bowl and Carne Asada platter. The nachos alone were shared by three of my kids. Everything was loaded and the meat was generous. Our only regret was waiting so long. We will definitely be back!

Nice find for Mexican food takeout. They do have a few tables to eat in, but it encourages you to take home.

I travel for work and eat a ton of Mexican food! This is by far the best steak taco I have ever had. Their burritos are also great and huge!

Meat was dry, rice was dry, beans were okay. The tortillas were kind of stale. The service was great.

As a Texan, I'd say there Mexican food is just ok. But for Omaha it's really very good.

Not only is the food incredible, but the staff are the absolute best and the ambiance is very welcoming and comfortable. We started with some chips and dips, and the queso was delicious. It was the perfect amount of spice but still creamy and cheesy. The salsas were also very flavorful and a great start to our meal. I chose to get the carne asada for dinner and it was absolutely AMAZING. The steak was so juicy and tender, and seasoned to perfection. I was so impressed, and it was perfectly paired with some tortillas de maiz, the guacamole, and rice and beans. I would absolutely get this meal again. The service was fantastic, and it felt like a true family restaurant. The chips were so good, and the salsa was spicy but not too much for people with sensitive palates. I love this style of chips, not a thin restaurant style but a thicker, more savory bite. We went through one portion before our food got to us and they brought more out when I asked. I highly recommend the tacos. I made a mistake and asked for birria not quesabirria tacos, so make sure to specify that if you want quesabirria (with cheese). But, the birria was good anyways! I also got the taco macho (see the pic for what's inside), and wish I would've ordered 2 of those! My husband got the huitlacoche and squash blossom tacos and they were both so good. I was so impressed they had huitlacoche as an option, I've never seen that before! The drinks were ordered and delivered from the server, but she said since they're working on a liquor license they have a bar next door that makes them. If you order a drink with your food, they charge for the drinks and food separate for that reason. I liked my jalapeño margarita! My husband got a cantarito and said it's the best one he's had from all the places we've tried to far!

The streetcar boondoggle is not affecting their block so parking is available. Decor is calming. I did not opt for an adult beverage as they were a bit pricey and I needed to retain focus. Settled on chicken enchiladas. Very tasty with some kick. The cheese was drizzled on top rather than baked through. Service was exceptionally friendly, I suspect from the bartender/proprietor. Would definitely return if in the area, but for now I am generally avoiding streetcar construction chaos. If you are downtown anyway, go.
