Goodness gracious, we couldn't tell enough jokes about going into and (mostly) "coming out of" the closet. We told all of our friends where we were so they could join us in Chueca, and, like clockwork, they'd make some sort of pun upon arrival.
So that's a fun way to start off a visit. Very elegant sort of place with purple lights, espejos, and chandeliers. The bartender and staff were especially nice, but with one fatal flaw - the drinks took agesss to arrive. In fact, I'm fairly certain I saw one of the employees leave the bar and come back with a can of olives in tow (which means, logically, they were not prepared for the sudden order of 4 martinis). Later, we would find out that it was the bartender's first time making a dry gin martini, so we gave him a little leeway. Eh, I've definitely had better.
Most of the tables were occupied, so perhaps we just came on an "off" night. I'd give it another shot but only if I was walking right by it and needed a martini/gin tonic riiiiight then. Otherwise, I'd probably scope out a different spot. read more
