Pretty standard Tex-Mex place , nothing particularly good or bad about it. They serve their beers with a frosted mug. I ordered the appetizer sampler as my meal. The chicken taquitos were dry but were saved by their green salsa. The quesadilla was stuffed full of toppings and was my favorite part of the meal. The lady there was very nice and their guac dip is great! However...I ordered an $8.50 burrito and water that ended up being $17.not noticing until I drove off ..I'm frustrated I asked for onions and jalapeños added to my burrito and instead of a simple charge for adding TO MY BURRITO....especially in replace of my "x the meat,x the cheese,and x the sour cream"...which I still paid for...she gives me entire side orders in separate containers of onions and peppers at like $3 each! That's insane especially since I only have one small burrito! Waste of food and money! I could've went somewhere else I'm on a road trip not a vacation ...I can't afford highway robbery for canned jalapeños and onions!!! Update:- the food SUCKS!!! the burrito that fell apart all over my car had a blonde hair in it!!! Seeing as I'm Hawaiian and the waitress was blonde...iM PISSED! Not so good tonight. Granted, we came late (30 minutes before closing), but still the food quality was noticeably poor. Particularly, (1) guacamole was AWFUL! It was frozen, pre-made garbage. We've had better from HEB. Shame, shame El Burrito (2) beef taco was served in a raw corn tortilla. Nasty. (3) rice and beans served cold (4) Chile rellenos was not breaded and fried. Instead, it was a soggy mess warmed up in a microwave. To make matters worse, cleaning crew came into our dining area and began sweeping the floor right by us. Other staff members joined her and began talking loudly, tapping the silverware, etc. Incredibly rude to us diners in the middle of our dinner. All in all, we should've gone to Taco Bell for a better quality meal. Definitely will not return here any time soon. read more

I loved eating here as a child. But, as an adult I can't decide if the food has changed or if I have changed. My opinion started to change after I once found a dead moth in my chicken enchiladas- I haven't ordered enchiladas since. I've realized that I prefer to mix the charro beans with the rice because the rice is bland. If I want fajitas I go elsewhere in town because El Burrito's beef fajitas are just too tough. Oh, and they actually charge now for substitutions! I've stopped eating here altogether because I've come to the conclusion that the price of the food doesn't match the quality of the food. On the positive side, their wait staff is incredible and I still love the salsa there. read more

First time in this restaurant, was curious how it tasted after having lived here in Livingston for 6 years. Walked in with wife, young girl greets us without a smile, just the words, "two?" No smile or welcome greeting. While waiting for our food, the bus boy was cleaning a booth adjacent to ours, and was knocking and banging our booth. I gave him a dirty look and he apologized. Waitress came with food, and literally tossed the two plates in front of me.She didn't set them gently down, she just tossed them. I kept quiet so as not to upset my wife on our first trip here. I ordered the soft taco meal, and although it was smothered with salad greens, something I'd never seen done before, the tacos were VERY DRY. Again, I resisted making a scene, but was really not a happy camper. When we left, the cashier did have a smile and asked how was everything, and my wife said that she was ok with her meal, but I wasn't. Canned chili served over tamale, meat stuffed chili relleno (whaaat?), chips were served with bland canned salsa, queso was NOT QUESO but was orange Velveeta-looking cheese, they didn't know where their shrimp originated from. If you are in Livingston and looking for someone who isn't home (or walmart) You can bet your bottom dollar they are at El Burrito, otherwise known as the best Tex-Mex restaurant on the planet. The food is simply amazing, no matter if you are a fajita man or a lady who loves her enchiladas you will be delighted. Their salsa is probably the best I have ever tasted and I am a salsa junkie. My wife can't get enough of their chili con queso dip, which is great but give me the salsa! I have been a El Burrito fan since I was a young kid and will never stray. The servers are beyond awesome. Ms Debbie and Ms April are two of the nicest and most attentive servers you will ever find. The prices have gone up in the past 30 years but they are reasonable. My recommendations are Fajitas, Fajita Nachos, Satilo Dinner (a burrito and an enchilada smothered in queso) or the Botana Mix(4 mini quesadillas and 4 mini taquitos served with pico, guacamole and queso. 30 years in business speaks for itself. read more

They were gonna charge me for a pint of each because I didn't order at least $20.00 worth of food, only $11.00. The total for both pints was about six dollars so I declined them.
