I loved the patron grill but sadly we recently were going to get some orders out and I happen to look at the menu. It's a cute place. It has odd ambience and terrific service or it did. What I'm sad about is the prices that they have gone to. Ouch yes the food was good and they gave you plenty but it's not a high-end restaurant and they have gone a little bit crazy. I don't know if they still have lunch specials, but I won't be getting dinner there anytime soon. I know the cost of everything has gone up, but most of us didn't get that with our income so if you want to keep your customers, you might want to rethink the prices of some of your basic items read more

I belive the prices are still going up been coming here for 20 years and my wife and my self normally spend under 50.00 dollars. Food was so cold and nasty. Services was even worse. No refills and never seen our waiter but one time. Was horrible experience. Definitely do not recommend this is my second time here and it was even worse than the first time!! This is just so ridiculous getting cold food and paying so much money for trash! Went into this place today.. I start with this I did grab a pitcher of tea and take myself. The bus persons name was Julie super nice can't remeber my waitress. For a reason was rude and said I'm takeing that pitcher bringing you a glass which see never came back to refill thanks for that. Julie was the reason I would promote her and fire that waitress.. the girls at the cashier after I told them about my experience started laughing. My favorite plate is the molcajete. $18.99 and you get chicken, beef, cheese, shrimp, chorizo, nopal, and jalapeño in a hot stone. Delicious and a great value! I've had quite a few Mexican food restaurants in my day. This one takes the cake for the worst food I've ever ate in my life. I went with my girlfriend, I got the Vaquero plate and she got the señorita plate. They both had tacos on it, which came out extremely soggy. The meat smelled like peanut butter for some reason and I would honestly take my chances with the meat that is in Jack in the Box tacos. The sauce on the enchiladas was good but the enchiladas themselves were very hard. Almost difficult to cut with a fork. The rice was bland, which was actually a nice touch because it didn't taste bad. The beans were so watery and tasted like the can they probably came out of. The guacamole was a disgrace to Mexico, it seemed like nothing on our plates were done well or done right. I've never seen guacamole that color or that consistency. The service was pretty good, which was actually one of the nice things about the meal and the queso was OK but I've had a lot better queso before. The ambiance was nice, it was karaoke night and they had the wildcard game on. It's just you could not pay me to eat here again and I've had Mexican food from good to bad to authentic to tex mex to everything in between and this is the worst food, not even just Mexican food. Obviously a Livingston resident fan favorite based on the number of cars in the parking lot for Sunday lunch. Upbeat Mexican music greeted us at the door, and a hostess quickly seated us, even though it was indeed a busy place. Chips and salsa arrived pronto. Salsa is excellant. If you live in the Lake Livingston area, this restaurant is a staple as everybody loves coming here, and they have great food and drinks! My family and I usually come here every other weekend on Sundays after church. The service is excellent and attentive, and you get your food fast! The good: - decor is awesome, both inside and out- TONS to keep your eye busy - the flavored margaritas: I had a frozen coconut (lime frozen with coconut flavored liquor) super refreshing! - the salsa and chips: crispy, textured, and the salsa was warm and flavored -service, our waiter did a decent job. Didn't catch his name The bad: - where's the A/C? Mind you, we were seated I the bar area, so every time the patio door opened, we got blasted with late-summer heat from outside -serving size: hubby's dinner portion of fajitas came with 3 three inch slices of chicken, and three 3 inch slices of beef. (I'd be concerned to see what the lunch portion was!) - my chalupas (flat tacos) we're so soggy that there was no way I'd be able to pick them up to eat them. - the stuffed jalapeño appetizer was surprisingly bland (think heavily breaded mild jalapeño with concession stand cheddar inside) Overall, not impressed. I enjoy my outings to this restaurant every single time we have been there. Angela is my favorite server, but they all work hard to give you outstanding service. Currently my favorite has been the the various fajitas dishes.. try any of them... I've been exploring all the different plates when I've been there. My old favorite was from the appetizers side; the Nachos Bloncos with chicken fajita meat.. but recently I have decided to try other dishes. I have not been dissatisfied at any of them. I really like the inside of this place. The grotto-like walls make it feel nice and cool in the heat of Summer. Maybe it's a good place to kick back a few margaritas, but what would you eat? They follow the horrible trend of cooking the salsa they serve with chips, which essentially turns the salsa into a cilantro-flecked spaghetti sauce. I had some version of chicken fajitas. They were served on a sizzling platter, but the chicken had been stewed and was dry. The vegetables were good, but the guacamole was cooked. I don't know if that was intentional or not - I've never tasted cooked guacamole and there's a good reason they don't cook it - but it was served in a thin tortilla shell atop the sizzling platter. It was cool when it was served, but by the time I ate it the guacamole was piping-hot. I think that's a dumb serving idea. read more

Pretty good, very well established place. The music was a bit too loud, but it didn't take away much. Our server was quick on her feet, but she had a LOT of tables and she looked stressed.
