Super neat little spot for breakfast or brunch! Flavors were all very good and if you're looking to step outside of your comfort zone they have some unique takes on Mexican food. Very nice ambiance, clean, and trendy. Service was very quick, we ordered and had our food in a matter of 5 minutes (this was when it was busy and all the tables were full already)! What really stands out, though, is the space -- it's small, but incredibly well thought out. You can tell a lot of care and intention went into every detail, and it creates an atmosphere that feels both personal and elevated. It honestly feels like the kind of place a professional designer would put together, but in a way that still feels authentic and lived-in. Everything flows -- the branding, the layout, the vibe -- it just works. There are a couple small quirks (like grabbing your own silverware even though food is brought to the table), but nothing that takes away from the experience -- and once you know, it's no big deal. All of the staff is really nice. One of the staff members got up from her lunch time to help clean a table for an elderly couple. My husband and I went there for brunch. He got steak and eggs and I got the tres leches pancakes. The quality of the food is amazing. You can tell they use really fresh ingredients. Service was also really fast. There's so many drink options. I wish I could've tried all of the Mexican-inspired lattes! read more

Service was slow, but friendly. However they really need to update how they charge for sauce. Ordered a quesadilla and asked for some chipotle sauce since none was supplied. I asked for some and was told no problem, then once it was ready to be placed in my hand a surprise cash payment was demanded. Was charged 80 cents for this little cup of sauce. Seems pretty ridiculous. read more

The food tastes like it's made in small batches by people who care. The tortillas are so fresh, real and authentic and the owner is so sweet and funny! Love her. One of the staff members could be a little more aware/attentive, but... that's kids these days. All in all I give this place 5/5 stars. Soooo glad they're here in Springfield. this is a very unique and high quality cafe. the espresso and coffee program are absolutely spot on. there are so many incredible food items. mostly cuban, maybe? tres leches pancakes are decadent and delish. concha breads, burritos, chilaquiles, cafe bon bon with lechera (sweetened condensed milk). highly recommend for a special breakfast experience :-) read more

Overall it was just ok for me. The coffee was ok and by the time I was given my coffee it was cold, The food was hot and made to order. The chilaquiles had good flavor but the meat have a lot more fat than I would like. There isn't much parking and it does get busy. I had to order to go because there was no room. The potato's had no flavor and the beans were ok. The staff were very nice and I can see why people like this place but the coffee to me was not the best I have had. It tasted liked water down cinnamon. the lack of seasoning on the potato and tough meat over powered the chilaquiles sauce. I have had better food and coffee. It might be different if you eat there but unfortunately for me the items I had were not the best. read more

(Chorizo casero, marinated chicken, mozzarella cheese, & chimichurri sauce). i also got a specialty coffee drink, offered iced or hot but i got hot. both were legit so yummy. great flavor and seasoning! this place also had pretty good speed! we ordered on a saturday at like noon and only waited about 10 minutes for food! my husband got the Tacos Dorados, and he loved it!! it was also pretty reasonably priced. i would say about $20-$25 for two meals and a coffee and a bottled coke. this place is a little small, so if you are going with a large group or at a busy time, a table might not be available. they also have a drive thru! read more

So happy my friend took me here during my visit to Springfield. From the cute, cozy atmosphere, to the kind staff to the delicious coffee and food, it was quite the highlight of my trip. All of their lattes sounds amazing, so I was happy to hear I could get a flight if four. I went with churro, hotchata, sopapilla cheesecake, and marzipan. It was hard to pick a favorite, as they were all perfection. For my food, I went with the Chichaloco Burrito with the chimichuri sauce. I don't eat meat, so they left out the chorizo and bacon with no problem which I really appreciate. It was spectacular. The eggs were well seasoned, the potatoes were cooked to perfection, and the chimichuri sauce was so good I wish I could have bottled it up brought home with me. read more

I enjoyed the Breakfast Burrito and my girlfriend love the Chilaquiles. My cold brew was just the caffeine bump I needed for the drive back from Branson (to STL) and my girlfriend's Cafe De Olla (which I snuck a sip in while she was grabbing silverware) was excellent. Drinks were out super quick which was surprising with how busy they were. So glad we made a stop in Springfield to try this spot out. read more

This little coffee shop was recommended to us by a good friend who is a local. Now we are coffee snobs as well as snobs about our Mexican food because we are from Cali.... This place is spot on! The coffee was delicious, the young lady that served us was personable and loved her job and loved serving people. She asked questions and I answered her..." let's be adventurous and she suggested the Mexican Mocha...I think that's she called it...I'm sure I got it wrong...I have to go back& try it again as it was perfect! My husband and I were in MO for a few days and as I was looking up small coffee shops El Cafecito showed up. We came here at 8am on a Sunday and were the first customers there. The young girl at the front was so sweet and the place itself is awesome. As a woman who currently lives abroad and is born and raised from Miami, but also has Guatemalan ancestry this place was it. I wish I had taken photos of our food, but we woofed it down so quickly - I had the chichaloca burrito and hubs had a big burrito - both delicious! Paired it with an horchata latte (amazing not too sweet) and an apple pie latte (hubs liked it but the caramel was a bit too sweet for him). Before we left, we bought some of their cute clay mugs. If you haven't tried this little coffee shop, you must! We will hopefully be back before we leave :) read more

This place has good potential in my books. However today at our first visit we waited FOREVER for our food. There were multiple groups who ordered after us and they got all of their food before us. After a while i had to go up to the front to ask what the issue was. But as soon as i did that they called for my name. We waited so long that our baby got frustrated and that's what upset me. Because she was fine at first. So once we got our food we had to speed eat to leave. It was upsetting because the food isn't cheap. Hopefully this was a one time thing and not a common occurrence. read more

Recently moved to Springfield and have had the opportunity to dine here twice now. If I could rate on food quality alone, it would be a definitive 5 stars. I also enjoyed their lattes. Customer service was absolutely abysmal. The manager was overtly berating her own employees as I was looking at the menu. I had ordered two coffee drinks as well as the chia seed pudding- in the process of picking it up from the counter, said manager condescendingly "instructs me" to hold it like so as if I were an invalid. Very off putting. Quaint atmosphere with amazing food but owner/ manager needs to work on her hospitality. read more

This place is so quaint and cute! But the food is TOP notch. My husband got a special of the day which was the torta cubana and it was huge! He enjoyed it. I got a gingerbread chai latte (not pictured) with chilequiles with red sauce. The chilequiles were so spicy! It caught me off guard but they were insanely delicious. I am so disappointed by the complete lack of service. No greeting, no interaction, completely ignored at the counter for almost 10 minutes by the staff of at least 6 people. "For here or to go?" That's all. Chilaquiles were way overly salted and the burrito was luke warm. Tables and chairs were dirty and wet. I so loved the food when I first went but likely won't be back. It's a shame but the acts of simply being nice to your paying customers and providing a great experience isn't important to them apparently. read more
