We've heard about this place...and people act like it's so great. Both once we tried this place; we got nothing out of it overall...and the cost...They sure (do not) give it away. The best thing on the night: spinach enchiladas. Those...were excellent and may be the best we've ever had. But wait: The tamale: it was beyond horrible in taste - and that was just the first bite. I couldn't hardly believe what I was tasting - so I had a second bite. After that one, I was done and (was not) going to eat another bite of the tamale. And for me; that's really saying something. Because I (don't waste stuff...and I eat something all day long; when it may (not) be the best dish. So that's really saying something....when I (don't) eat something. The beef enchilada dinner - "meh" is the best way to describe my entree. If spinach enchiladas are your jam - then go here and enjoy. But for the other selections, there are far better options than this place. read more

Ate here for the first time today with friends and we all were very pleased with the variety on the menu and the quality of the food. I got the luncheon burrito bowl and it was very tasty. The pico de gallo and lettuce was very fresh as was the avocado. The chips and salsa are flavorful with just the right amount of heat, even for the one in our group who doesn't like spicy. The chips are light and fresh. My husband got garlic shrimp with rice and beans and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to returning and trying more of their menu soon. read more

I use to really love this place! The past two times I have eaten there the food quality was not acceptable. My food was served cold, the plantains were hard and had no flavor. I really liked the Patacons, we would go there once a month or so on a Tuesday for the patacon special. They have done away with specials and the quality. It's too bad really, it was my go to place for a quick dinner when I didn't feel like cooking at home. I certainly would not rush back unfortunately! read more

Wow! The husband and I stumbled upon this gem a few months ago after a day of flea marketing nearby. We have been back at least once a month since. Mundos has consistently high quality food and service. We have never ordered anything we did not like. I recommend the Queso Loco and the pork belly tacos. Also worth a mention is their bar. First time Mundos dining experience--and it met all my expectations and more! I am particular about my ethnic and international dining experiences and Mundos deserves every star. Service was great and the food even greater. I did not plan to get an appetizer but wanted to try the Tostones. I did not add the meat option and it was delicious--next time, I will order it as a meal or make sure I have someone with me to share it with. I ordered the Mofongo and it was amazing! The shrimp cooked to perfection and the sauce brought the meal together--it was one of those "I'm so full but can't stop eating this" type meal. Passing through town on a road trip and stopped for a late lunch/early dinner. So many unique menu options, we weren't sure what to order. I WILL BE BACK! This, by far, has been the BEST Latin American food I have had, since being in SW MO! For starters, the do Margarita Flights - YUMMY (I really liked the Mango Margarita!!!) The Guacamole was AMAZING! Freshly made and they let you salt to taste, which I love! Some places have been know to over salt the guacamole and that makes it awful! I only wish it came in a bigger size to share at our table. The size it came in is good for 1 to 2 people. The Fried Plantains were delicious. They came with a cilantro/mayo sauce, which really brought the flavors up on this dish. It's nice to be able to order different flavors from all over Latin America. There are so many choices that I will be coming back and trying them all. I ordered the Seafood Street Taco. Since I had quite a few appetizers, I knew just one Street Taco would be plenty. Another person ordered the Vaca Frita, which sounded delicious. However, when it came out, the Brisket was dry and not very good. . Thankfully, our Server(who was the Owner) was awesome and took that off our bill. He explained how the dish was supposed to be made, but said if we order again, just let them know not to make it dry and they would make to our liking. Another person ordered the Cuban sandwich and was pleased. The other person in our party ordered just a Hard Taco with Mexican Rice. They said it was good, as well. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to eat at in Ozark, MO. It's in a strip mall and kinda hidden (when you go at night), but TOTALLY WORTH IT! My husband and I almost accidentally found Mundo's. (If you're familiar with northern Ozark, MO, it's behind B-29 Cafe.) The menu features recipes from Mexico along with South American and the Caribbean. We've loved everything we've tried, and it's become a favorite restaurant. The bar is good too. We had lunch at Mundos recently. They have a really cool restaurant and the menu focuses on Latin American dishes. It's a huge menu with something for everyone. My husband ordered the California burrito with steak and I had the patacon with steak. Both of our meals were delicious. Highly recommend the patacon as it is a plantain dish that is covered with your choice of meat (or vegetarian) and a ton of veggies, cheese and a wonderful sauce. Loved it. Our waitress was great.
