Amazing service and recommendations. The recommended items were incredible and the salad with personalized dressing was incredible. They took the time to recommend and took us to another level.

I was recommended by a local to eat at this restaurant. This was my best dining experience in Sevilla. The restaurant is close to the Triana bridge. Excellent service, super friendly and helpful staff. I ordered several tapas to try different flavors. They were all very tasty with a high quality. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent restaurant. Everything was first class. We had a vegetarian paella which was absolutely out of this world. I highly recommend the mushrooms Al Ajillo. They used larger mushrooms than the criminis we use in the US. More like an overgrown chanterelle. We had a bottle of Rias Baixas which was reasonably priced and very tasty.

Solid place for lunch or dinner in Sevilla, I'm pretty sure the kitchen doesn't close so definitely a plus! Side note- If you aren't aware, it's very common for the kitchens of restaurants or cafes to close around 3 or 4 pm in Spain and not open after about 8 pm. During this time they'll offer you sandwiches and other things that they have made and ready. El Cairo has yummy food and it appears like the locals frequent this place, which is definitely a good sign! We had the paella & a ham/cheese platter the first time & ended up coming back for the paella a second time but instead we order croquetas de jamón. Everything is very yummy & the staff is nice. Definitely stop by here if you're in Sevilla!

If you guys are in Spain visit this place for sure. Pepe is such an awesome guy! I dont think I can put into words how much I love this man! He's like the grandpa I never had that comes out of a storybook that everyone wants but thinks doesn't exist. No bullshit. Lol this place is where I discovered my obsession for Gin and tonic with a lemon wedge(not lime) the two taste drastically different trust me always get a lemon wedge! The Gin the have here is called "Wint" I think I spelled it correctly not sure but it's a white bottle, try it! I literally popped in daily for some ham and a drink. The other food is good as well but these were my go to and to see Pepe's cute face!

BEST paella I've had. I studied abroad in Spain for 4 months and was never disappointed here! I would never eat paella anywhere else after tasting El Cairo's!!!

Our hotel concierges recommended this restaurant to us. While it was busy, we were able to walk in without a reservation. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you have a large party. We started with the avocado, pineapple & shrimp salad. It was an excellent marriage of flavors. Next we had croquettes. They were traditional & very good. We ordered the house salad expecting greens and veggies only, but were surprised to get an assortment of fish too. It was different. The seafood paella was what we were waiting for and it was excellent! The shrimp melt in your mouth and the rice has nice flavor too. Juan was an excellent help.

The food was spectacular (falls in my top 5 ever!) and the service, plus ambiance were top-notch. Table for two, 5 tapas and 3 drinks.... Cost? Under $40 USD. I came here due to a yelp recommendation because like most westerners unaccustomed to the Spanish way of living I was hungry at about 7 pm and needed something to eat. Yay yelp to the rescue. The place was crowded and there were no seats available when I arrived. There were many small groups congregated around tables and a few couples as well. It isn't obvious how to proceed once you come in the door so I probably stood there awkwardly for a few minutes near the door before making my way to the bar to what looked to be a vacant seat. A gentleman informed me that it belonged to his girlfriend so I was forced to now stand awkwardly next to the bar. Bar tender to the rescue explaining that if I waited he was pretty sure someone would leave soon and I could order a drink while I waited. I ordered a sangria and also inquired about food but was told that I need to have an actual seat in order to order food. After nursing my drink for about 20 mins when I was about to pay and head out to find somewhere else to eat, a spot finally opened up and I was treated to the most delicious steak and potatoes and zucchini tapas. This had to be one of the most delicious things I have eaten on this vacation. When I finally vacated my seat to save a pair of new arrivals, there was a line outside of people waiting for the opportunity to eat here. I might chance it again before I leave Seville. I highly recommend for the food and friendly waiters but wish there was a way to turn seats over more quickly. One guy kept insisting he was saving his girlfriend's seat but in the 90 mins I spent there she never showed up. Who knows if she ever existed. Bread comes free with your tapas order and really complimented the meal.

So, you walk in buy a drink and show up towards the end of the previous show so you can grab a seat upfront for the next show. We did this and landed premium spots right in front of the stage. The drinks were mediocre and we dint order any food. But it was worth it for the flamenco show. There was a show going on when we arrived around 10:50, so the main entrance was closed off, but we went through the side entrance and ordered drinks at the bar. I got a small glass of the orange wine, since I heard that was the specialty in Sevilla and wanted to try it. It was a sweeter wine but had a slightly bitter after taste. There were already a lot of people there, so it was a bit hard for us to see the performance, but from what I could see, it was really good. When it finally ended around 11, the lights came on. My friend and I didn't want to wait around for the next performance, so we finished our drinks and left. They also have plenty of seating outdoors in the courtyard, so if you want to just grab a drink but not watch the show, you can always sit outside and chat.

The best food I had in all of Seville.. stopped by this place for late dinner during my recent trip…read moreto Seville and this place did not disappoint. We ordered their roasted lamb with cous cous, garlic shrimp croquetta (that was the croquetta of the day), pork cheek stew with potato purée and the chocolate panna cotta for dessert. We also ordered their sangria and tinto de verano. Every dish we ordered was AMAZING - tasty flavorful well seasoned melt in your mouth meat bursting with flavors. We devoured every bite and it was hard to pick a favorite. Both the lamb and pork dishes were 11/10. Not just the taste but the presentation of every tapa was fantastic. Their drinks were also great. The dessert was to die for. This place is super packed during peak dinner hours and there is barely any room to stand. Since we walked in around 11pm, we got a seat and were well taken care of all thru the night. Also noticed alot of veggie options on the menu which was great. Service was awesome ambience is chic. I am certain I am going to crave their tapas once I am back home. Highly highly recommend this place when in Seville.

Where do I begin? Let's talk about the ambience. To call this place rustic would probably capture…read moreit best, it's really probably more like a cafeteria or a school room at a very old school. Tables perhaps a bit close together, not terribly comfortable. Loud, busy. As far as the service, it was our impression that our waiter was the only person serving the 30 or so tables in their dining room. Suffice it to say the service was not fast and not good. Inexplicably, every time we ordered a Coke we were asked if we wanted a Coke Zero. If I wanted a Coke Zero I would have said the words Coke Zero. Even when I asked for another Coke, he again asked "Coke Zero?" It took next to forever to get the check, and forever to get a cappuccino. At one point I took it upon myself to point the waiter to a table behind us that had been desperately attempting to get his attention. This was all not good. As to the food. First, our fault for not knowing what tataki meant. We did not expect to receive salmon that was seared on the outside and raw on the inside. So that one is on us, although we also think the meal came tepid at best. The lamb on couscous was dry and tough. The pork cheek stew was actually pretty good if a bit gluey. The calamari was good. The sushi as they called it was average. What they called the tiramisu was more like a pudding with some liqueur and chocolate on the top, and a little bit of breadish stuff in the bottom. Not my idea of tiramisu, and probably not yours either. So we could not get too excited about these various dishes. But what was particularly frustrating and bizarre was that two people sitting across from us ordered food that looked absolutely delicious. So we got to sit there wondering why we didn't order what they ordered. They ordered a large beef dish with potatoes which is on the menu, and we think they ordered a large octopus meal although we are not sure. Everything they had looked better than anything we had. So it may be that we somehow just picked the wrong items. So it was a strangely frustrating meal. This place has good reviews and we expected good tasting food. Unfortunately it did not work out that way, and the ambience and service were negative contributing factors. I can't entirely write this place off, only because the food other diners received actually looked very good. But I don't think I would go there again.
