Not too impressive on the outside and I literally had to squat to see the full menu from the line but this place serves excellent fish and shrimp cerviche. I honestly wouldn't be able to taste the difference if someone did a blind fold test but I just enjoyed the lemony flavor. The tostadas that come with the cerviches were incredible but you might need to order extras since I ran out fast and still had cerviche left. Also tried their fish taco which was tasty. I like how there's more fish than batter. Just didn't think the fish taco was worth $4.50 since it's kinda small. Parking can be challenging since it's a small area but be patient. read more

We ordered the popular empanadas de camaron (shrimp), SO GOOD!!! It was my first time trying this. We also picked up a few tostadas de pulpo aka octopus, it was huge btw they give you alot of meat. The aguachiles are always my go to in this place! Everything is so fresh and delicious. The pescado tacos are also really good but when I went back to buy a $5 avocado they took over 15 minutes and my taco was cold and the tortilla had fallen apart. Wow!! So I will try to express my First time at El Ceviche Loco . I was going to meet with friends, but was not sure what to bring to our to our get together. I called my dad and asked if there was any place that had Ceviche Platters. He sent me to El Ceviche Loco. I was going to South Gate so I said ok I'll try that place... I needed a platter, but.. in order to get a platter, you -MUST ORDER AT LEAST 1 Day in advance. Since I needed the Ceviche same day, the other great option was getting Large orders of Ceviche. I ordered that, I received enough Tostadas, Hot Sauce, and what I ordered was enough. I also want to thank Karen for the excellent customer service. She gave me advice and information about how many people can eat with what I ordered. And not just that. My Friends LOVED the Ceviche. I am referring more people. I have been visiting this location for years. They have all my favorite dishes dishes. The consistency on the spice can be off on certain days but I think that is just due to who is cooking that day. In the summer it can get really crowded and the service can get really slow and messy, but I'm willing to put up with it because of the food. Sometimes the ladies can be a bit rude, but I think it's just due to being busy I do, however think they need to improve their pick up process, especially when there is a long line to order there. I would suggest everyone make line whether it's pick up to eat there. The line will flow quicker and you don't feel like people are cutting in line. The price is fair for the amount of food you get and the ceviche is just plain yummy. There are 3 ways to get your ceviche: fish or shrimp or mix of both. Their soups are also hot and delicious. They're basically empanadas w/crabmeat, cheese & a little shrimp in it. Do yourself a favor & order one! Lorena, completely ignored my mom at the pick-up windiw when she asked for something. Ana lacked eye contact and treated you like just another person customer she's trying to get rid of, they're not approachable at all. Idc how busy an establishment is, you acknowledge your customers. If my Spanish was better I would have taken it upon myself to put that old bitter woman in her place. My Mom mentioned that she's spoken to someone about those two women in the past & the person reassured her that she wasn't the first to complain about both of their off-putting behavior. Rosa on the other hand is extremely attentive. Always giving wonderful service & making ppl feel at ease about ordering and/or asking for something. Another thing to keep in mind when ordering at this place is 8-10 times they screw up your order. Especially when you call in, so be sure to double check your order before driving out. We even witnessed two different ppl complaining about their order being wrong while we waited for our food. They have three choices of beer here. New to me. Tecate, Corona & Modelo. Okay, I have been eating at El Ceviche Loco for the almost 9 years; ever since my boyfriend rolled me up there on his Harley when we were long distant dating. I was a naive guera from Utah. I'll be honest, I was a little timid at the time. However, this white girl from Utah feels perfectly comfortable coming here by myself for the BEST Ceviche in So Cal. Even better than some I've eaten in Baja, mainland Mexico and Cozumel. Shoot, I would be confident bringing a bowl of it to a party with my Mexico born friends! Yes it is that good! Today we had to drive up into the Valley to pick something up, on the way back down the 5 my boyfriend whispered exactly what I was thinking. "Loco." The like was same as always, out to the street, however, I had food in front of me within 15 minutes. The outside seating is always clean, thanks to the gentleman who is always there, to sweep up, clear tables, and spray them down with cleaner. Oh, and when my boyfriend dropped his Horchata, he was right there with the mop to clean it up. Today we got three tostada pescado, and one tostada mixed seafood. OMG so god! Of course we ended up bringing half of it home. There servings are so big, and we are always starving when we arrive. The fish is so fresh, it's like they get it straight from the ocean every day. The seasoning is on point. They always give you extra lemons, because they don't overwhelm the fish in the marinade. Today's bonus was getting to meet Waldo, the owner. Super friendly, and excited to hear that I'd been coming for years. As a guera, I stand out just a little. Lol. He offered us a couple T-shirts, that he just gives out, and he even went and got us an extra order of avocado, because we forgot to ask for them with the tostadas. He even brought me an empanada de camarón to try, and it was SOO good. I know what I will be ordering with my, ONE tostada next time! I highly recommend El Ceviche Loco!
