Back in November we ended up going to Sherman's 2 times, and we did it again last week. It was so nice, we went twice! The food is as good as it gets for NY Deli cuisine this far west. I opted for the 3 meat sandwich, I almost had to unhinge my jaw in order to take a proper bite. The sandwich was piled high with pastrami, corned beef and BBQ brisket. The rye bread was soft and delicious and absorbed the mustard and meat juices quite well. The matzoh ball soup was nostalgic, healing, and delicious all at the same time. Melissa was very accommodating with the shorter than their recommended lead time of about 3.5 weeks versus 4 weeks in advance and was very responsive throughout the entire process through email with the final confirmation over the phone. On the day of the pick up, they also remembered we were coming in from LA and followed up with us to make sure we were going to get there before they closed at 4PM. They had a wide variety of flavors to choose from that could be cake, but we settled on traditional chocolate, one of the flavors that allow for a custom design. We sent them an inspiration photo of what we were looking for along with the color scheme and they absolutely knocked it out of the park on the looks. The cake was well received by everyone at the party. Since I was unable to get one of their more daring and creative flavors as the custom cake, I did go ahead and order a dozen of their Dubai chocolate cupcakes and very much enjoyed them.

There is also a wonderful water fountain outside you can sit near. Plenty of room for everyone. Many small groups for people similarly enjoying their treats and spending quality time chatting. This sourdough bakery is super cute, the staff is always top notch and genuinely friendly, and everything we've tried has been excellent. The sourdough is exactly what you want: just the right natural tang, a soft interior, and a crisp crust. They also carry and make so many other amazing items beyond the bread itself. The staff gives solid recommendations, and even when they have things we've never heard of, they take the time to explain them well. Their baked goods are consistently fantastic, and the citrus-marinated olives never even make it all the way home because we end up eating them in the car. We do not live especially close, but whenever we are in Palm Springs and have the time, we make it a point to stop by.
