Well, mom and I went the other day and it's very clean and the service is very nice. The best thing was the sourdough bread that my mother bought she loved it and she also loved the cinnamon roll pastry. I got the baguette and the coffee cake and the cinnamon roll and the walnut bread. It was good, but I don't think I would buy it again because for the price it wasn't exceptional. Next time I groom my dog next store I'm going to buy the sourdough bread for sure which is around 12 or $13 and was exceptional.

Delicious bread. Wonderful staff. No other place like it for bread in the valley. These bakers are the very best.

Ordered the New York style hot pastrami on rye with coleslaw and a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. The pastrami was the highlight. Piled high, tender, and full of that classic deli flavor with just the right amount of richness. The rye bread held everything together well and had a nice bite to it. It's the kind of sandwich you have to take a second to look at before figuring out how to eat it. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp, a good balance to the sandwich, and the cream soda was cold and refreshing. Also ordered a slice of pistachio cake to go. Absolutely delicious. The place has that old school deli feel, busy but in a good way, and full of character. Service was friendly and efficient even with the crowd. Definitely a spot worth stopping at if you're in Palm Desert and want a proper deli sandwich.

Service was excellent. Seated immediately and ordering minutes later. Got extra cream cheese on request and our coffees were diligently refilled. The main attraction was the pastrami sandwich. Totally to my wife's taste, extremely lean and stacked high. She had to take half home. I tried an omelette with corned beef and loved it. The everything bagel was perfectly acceptable, not too "bready." So: service good, pastrami good, and bagel good. Everything good about a deli is covered.

Back home in Fenwick, DE, there used to be a small shop near her house that served homemade ice cream from a local dairy farm it was excellent. One of our favorites there was butter brickle, a rich, creamy ice cream with pieces of toffee mixed in. At Handel's, they offer a great deal where you can get four flavors in one container for around $8, and the scoops are very generous. We really liked the salted caramel, but they have close to 30 flavors, so there's definitely something for everyone. Seating is limited to just a few tables outside, and the line can get pretty long. On warmer days, you might want to keep the AC running in the car so your ice cream doesn't melt too quickly if you're taking it to go. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Palm Springs hopefully soon.

I went back today (April 14, 2026), and I'm happy to say they absolutely followed through. Whatever the issue was has been fixed, and the Butter Pecan is back to being excellent again. Really appreciate the responsiveness and care for customers. I'm a very satisfied customer and glad to see this flavor back at a 5-star level, delicious once again!

We came in on a Sunday and it was completely empty--just me and my two kids. The lights in the large kitchen behind the glass were off, and most of the lights except the ones near the counter were off too. There was only one person working. It felt a bit quiet and subdued. My kids' excitement about going to an ice cream shop quickly turned into confusion and wariness of my promises. While the cashier had to make all 3 of our shakes after taking the order, she was super friendly and patient throughout, even offering my kids extra toppings and sample popcorn on the side. The great service could have easily been th best part of the experience had the toffee not tasted so good. I ended up getting the toffee popcorn and the toffee bites for myself--both were delicious. It is not inexpensive so I'm not sure I'd say the taste fully justifies the price. That said, the toffee is really, really good, so I'm trying to make it last as long as possible. Overall, I'm glad we stopped. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to seek it out, but if we were nearby again, we would definitely stop by.

We went in "just to look" (famous last words) and walked out with 3 cupcakes: vanilla bean, red velvet, and salted caramel toffee... plus a mocha tres leches parfait because self-control is seasonal and clearly out of stock!! Every single bite was the kind of good that makes you close your eyes mid-chew and ignore whoever's talking to you. But let's discuss the real star: the frosting!!! I was fully prepared for standard whipped cream or buttercream vibes, and instead got this cloud-like, silky situation that tasted rich but somehow light enough to justify eating an entire cupcake without emotional consequences. Tiffany herself let me in on the secret.... it's Italian meringue buttercream. So basically, classy buttercream that went to finishing school. Tiffany is also an absolute gem... warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what she's baking up. You can taste the love (and the butter, but mostly the love)!!! If you're in the desert and your sweet tooth starts whispering reckless ideas, listen to it. And definitely support this family-owned local spot. We'll be back for "research purposes" and to satisfy our sweet tooth!!
