I was in Palm Desert this last weekend when I decided to make dinner and was craving a freshly made sourdough bread. I am big supporter of small business and this caught my eye and I was not disappointed! The sourdough loaf was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. I also purchased a slice of the orange pound cake and a delicious chocolate chip cookie. Both amazing and it's always nice when you have an owner who appreciates their customers! Stopped in and picked up a morning bun and baguette. Both were very good. The morning bun had hints of cardamom - which I wouldn't usually like - and orange which was tasty and not too sweet. Friendly service. Would recommend! I came around 2pm and I would say over 60% of the goods had been sold. They do have a somewhat limited menu with various kinds of breads and cookies primarily and a few extras such as coffee cake, scones. and the morning bun. A great option but wouldn't work for people looking for the variety of pastries typically offered at a coffee shop for example such as muffins, croissants, or anything with cream/custard/filling. Notably there is very limited seating with 1 table inside and none outside yet as they just opened. No restroom either. Parking is in a plaza lot so no issues there. read more

Well, mom and I went the other day and it's very clean and the service is very nice. The best thing was the sourdough bread that my mother bought she loved it and she also loved the cinnamon roll pastry. I got the baguette and the coffee cake and the cinnamon roll and the walnut bread. It was good, but I don't think I would buy it again because for the price it wasn't exceptional. Next time I groom my dog next store I'm going to buy the sourdough bread for sure which is around 12 or $13 and was exceptional. read more

I had a morning roll and devoured it in the car, it was too good to wait lol i got some crackers that are also so delicious and cant wait to try the bread when i get home. I went to try the morning bun but they were sold out since it was early afternoon. Ended up trying the blueberry upside down cake with lemon curd and the coffee cake. Both were delicious. Coffee cake had just the right amount of sweetness and crunch with the crumble topping. Blueberry cake was perfectly tart and sweet. My husband and I really enjoyed them. I'll go back to try their sourdough and focaccia. I bet they're also really good. read more

A Bakery a Jewel in the Desert! First the shop is soooooo clean, the owners Keth & Allison are so proud of what they do, and what they do is giving us the best all organic bread , quiches, cakes, cookies, etc. in the Desert. You can see them working with a smile in the back of their shop making all those wonderful goodies with state of the Art ovens, storage and ustensiles. The staff is just the nicest. From the moment you walk in, you're hit with that amazing fresh baked smell of bread, butter, a hint of sweetness.. it's honestly hard to leave. Everything looks beautiful, and even better, it tastes just as good as it looks. I tried a few different things and every single one was spot on, but I have to call out the coffee cake and cookies in particular. The coffee cake was incredibly moist with a perfect crumb and just the right amount of sweetness.. honestly one of the best I've had. And the cookies? Soft, rich, and packed with flavor. The kind where you take one bite and immediately wish you bought more. Even something simple like their bread stood out.. soft on the inside with just the right crust. You can tell everything is made fresh with real care. What really made the experience though was the service. Everyone was friendly, patient, and clearly proud of what they're making. Absolutely obsessed with this adorable little bakery in Palm Desert! Everything we tried was incredible--the zucchini chocolate chip bread was perfectly moist and full of flavor, the coffee cake was rich and delicious, and the morning buns are truly to die for. They have the most amazing hint of orange zest that makes them stand out in the best way. On top of that, it's such a cute, cozy spot and you can really feel the love put into everything. I'm such a fan of "a bakery" and I've been buying their baked goods at the farmers market since they launched. I'm thrilled that they finally have a brick and mortar and the bakery is lovely. there's tons of parking and the bakery is well lit and sparkling clean. the vibe is sunny and the owners are hands on and always smiling. I visited on a Sunday so the goods were limited. they still serve the la Quinta farmers market. even still, i was able to get most of my favorites; sesame crackers, sourdough bread, molasses cookies and savory scones. every morsel was as delicious as ever! they were sold out of the focaccia which is another fav. and virtually sold out in general. good for them! read more

Went by there and got a round loaf of sourdough. I am telling the truth-- best sourdough I have ever had. I had a chicken breast sandwich on toasted sourdough when I got home. I am pretty sure I dreamed about. It isn't exactly cheap ($12 I think), but TOTALLY WORTH IT. I will never eat another sourdough without wishing it was this one. Ever. Yummmm. read more

I wanted to give a little feedback because A Bakery is honestly amazing. The bread, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and morning buns are some of the best I've had. The only issue is that every time I come in, most of the morning pastries are already sold out, Even today, only about 45 minutes after opening they were gone. I'd happily buy more there were more available. I know selling out can be a good sign, but I think there are probably a lot of customers like me who are leaving empty-handed. Consistently selling out so early will eventually lead to customers not making the trip because they assume items will be sold out. They may even stop visiting altogether. Hopefully you'll consider increasing production because people clearly love what you're making! read more
