The worst porta potty service in Tuolumne county. Never had a good experience with them. They would come by and say they cleaned them and write on the door and everything that they cleaned. When they were in fact NOT cleaned. I call and the front desk lady is rude and told me the tech said he cleaned it and so it was cleaned. I was astonished and said they absolutely were not. She was rude and said they would have someone come clean it out again. Just do it the first time good lord! They can't even clean a porta potty efficiently either. I am located RIGHT NEXT TO THEM and when they come and clean our porta potty out all they do is pump it. They don't hose it out or anything. It smells like years worth of pee in the urinal part next to the toilet. They don't refill the hand wash station, sucks when I wanna wash my hands because that's the only water I have to clean them and I can't even do that. The people doing this job if you hate it that much then quit cuz you're giving this company a bad wrap my guy. I truly did not wanna have to give this review but I'm so tired of dealing with them on this matter. read more

Can't give less than one star apparently. Selling a house and requested an inspection. Technician arrived early (before we did), so they tried to charge us for "wait time" even though we were there on time. Waited 3 days for the bill after many calls and voicemails to try to pay to ensure the report was to us on time. Took another day of voicemails to get the extra charge removed. Had to have them come back out to get an estimate on something found in the report...3 days later still waiting (even after expressing beforehand that this was time sensitive and urgent). IF you get a chance to talk to someone on the phone they are RUDE and dismissive. Still waiting for repair estimate even though it doesn't matter much now, as this was super time sensitive and the time has elapsed. I've also left 4 more voicemails that have been left unreturned (typical) since last Wednesday. I would actively pay more money to use ANYONE else. I don't know how the remain in business. When we called to schedule they were the only ones who had time in their schedule quickly; now I know why. read more

We were super happy they could fit us in their schedule for immediate service, & thankfully left us with the ability to use our toilets! We had a toilet back up with sewage we called 1st thing Monday morning & they did what they could to send a pumper truck & inspect our system. Mitch came out & thoroughly checked everything & pumped the tanks, after investigation he found a pump & leach field issue which will require another tech visit, which we hope they will be able to resolve. When in need of a septic company choose wisely after my last 30 days that means choose any company but stay clear of EL DORADO SEPTIC CO. Had preventive worked performed on 10/2 the young man in doing work broke a conduit pipe (he strapped it back to repair?). Discovered on 10/6 a water line 5' under for a drip line system was also broken called on the 10/6 spoke with CS person unfortunately she was the only one I was able to speak with since I was denied request to talk to office manager or owner. This employee lacks in communication, professionalism, etc she told me repairs weren't warranted for any period time (not only on there septic work but on anything they break on your property) I then requested a more qualified worker do the repair since it was 5' down again request denied she sent the same young man out to repair on 10/7. Typed owner a 2 page letter faxed & mailed 10/11 asking to contact me to discuss how to proceed since a lot of TUD water was wasted and wouldn't get the next bill until Dec & that line used for watering would not be used again until April. I did immediately receive an invoice I paid a portion and stated was waiting to hear back from owner about the dispute re what they broke and repaired well 3 weeks later still have not heard back from owner! But I did get a email back from the office manager on 10/31 was it to apologize for the inconveniences they caused me for damaging 2 things on my property or stating they would assist with the extra TUD charges etc NO it was to inform me the unpaid balance was overdue and would be turned cover to collections. Sad the young man said he was sorry for breaking the conduit & water line but the company itself has never even said those 2 words "we're sorry"! read more

I had to have an old system replaced - tank and leach field. The folks at El Dorado, from office to crew, were professional and efficient. The guys doing the excavating and installation were cordial and informative. They did not mind my many questions. Spencer is the most proficient backhoe operator that I have ever seen. There were extra touches that I appreciated. The septic tank was located in my fenced yard. Spencer and Adrian made sure to rig the fence back up every afternoon before they left so that my dogs could go out in the yard again. Spencer also rerouted a water line to my horse troughs so that it did not run through the leach field. read more

You know that scene ... the toilet starts bubbling, the sink drains slow, and this awful smelly mystery brown liquid (yeah, we know what it is) fills the showers and tubs. And it's late in the evening on a Thursday. And you have guests coming for a week Saturday morning. And you're desperate. I called and left a message on the answering machine, desperately telling my story, promising everything short of my firstborn if they can squeeze me in the next day. I got to work Friday morning, phone in hand, waiting for 8:00 to arrive so I could call El Dorado and beg. At 7:57 my phone rang -- it was Renee calling to get me on the schedule. El Dorado arrived and pumped the dump!! The two young men -- one the owner's son -- were helpful and respectful. Use this company at your own risk. After coming out to look at a back up in my septic system, it was determined to be from a clogged sewage pipe before the septic tank. They were unable to clear it with a jet. Without ever inspecting the system itself, they quoted me an outrageous price to replace the entire septic system. I then call a regular plumber who snaked out the inlet pipe and pulled out a ball of hair and grease. Problem solved and I have had no more issues. When I addressed this with the owner, he was generous enough to refund my money for the service call, but they will no longer do business with me because I wasn't happy being scammed. Septic tank serviced this morning by Randy, who was prompt, friendly and polite. He worked efficiently and was knowledgeable, explaining why he needed to deploy a small tractor to access the septic lid (mine is buried about 30 inches deep). When he completed the job, he returned all the soil to the original dig-out spot. My property has lots of trees, and he was so mindful of them. A dog parent himself, he tried to calm my excitable Jack Tsu, which was very sweet. I hope El Dorado pays Randy well, with benefits, and hangs on to him. He represents the company very well. Had a issue with my leach lines and called El Dorado Septic. Secretary was extremely polite and she had someone come out the same day. She said around 1:00. She called around 12:45 and said driver was running 30 min. late. That's amazing!! For one 30 min. isn't even late anymore. And they called to let me know. Amazing!! Randy the driver is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Got the problem fixed and told me how to prevent it from happening again. El Dorado Septic company performed a septic inspection on our property. The septic technician left the septic lid off the tank and left the septic hole open and completely exposed. The septic was full to the top with liquids, feces, and fluids. Upon arrival to the property, I noticed the septic tank was uncovered, leaving the septic tank entirely exposed. I had two children under the age of 5 at the property at the time of this discovery. My children ran dangerously close to the septic hole, and while running after them was when I discovered the exposed tank. I called the company two times before receiving a callback. The office manager Renaye C. informed me that we instructed her technicians to leave it uncovered. That was false, and we did not refuse to have the septic lid placed back on the tank. She quickly backtracked her story and said the technician did replace the lid, only after telling me it was left uncovered because we requested the lid to be left off. That was not the case. As the customer's daughter, I had to cover the lid myself with wood planks, concrete slabs, and cones. Renaye (office manager) hung up the phone on me after I asked if she had children and if she could understand the danger in this situation, and how easily a child could fall into an uncovered septic tank. Any child, animal, pet, or adult could have fallen into the septic tank. El Dorado Septic Company's incompetency demonstrates a reckless disregard for the safety or lives of others, children, pets, and wildlife. No full septic tank should ever be left uncovered under any circumstance. El Dorado Septic Company, their technicians, and their Office Manager fail to possess the necessary skills of a safe and competent septic company. Nothing like arriving at your cabin after work in the snow, only to be greeted by the dreaded red light glaring and lighting up the dark like Rudolph's nose on your septic tank! Yet, there we were. We only slightly panicked as we don't have much experience dealing with potentially messy situations. After trying to paste back together the soggy directions to the tank, we discovered the previous owner's number to El Dorado service in the drawer. On a Friday, after work, we think there's no way we'll find anyone to talk with about this situation. Without much hope, we left a message and built a fire while waiting because the heater wouldn't come on, when it rains, it pours. I sat there without much hope, bundled up, thinking looks like we were turning around and going home; I could deal with no heat because of the fireplace but no powder room; well, it's a wee bit chilly out to be au natural for my liking. Then, no longer than a half hour or less, the phone rings, and it's the owner, Shawn! After asking a few questions, he reassured us don't change our plans, to enjoy the slopes, and he would be out and handle what needed to be done; and if something were more serious, he would let us know and make a plan. Saturday rolls in, and we enjoy a fantastic day of skiing and perfect weather - and realize we didn't hear back, so maybe this is a good sign! And low and behold - Rudolph's red light was off, and there were footsteps in the snow affirming Shawn arrived and handled it! The rest of the weekend was saved, and he called this morning to follow up and make sure everything was working out. Have a external septic for our rv we rent through them went in to pay and my husband called to have tank pumped within 24 hours our tank was removed we called up and we we're told that the lady inside was new and had instead of a scheduling a septic pump thEy scheduled a tank pick up. The gentleman who picked up the tank Unhooked the septic hose and caps they diD get a new tank out within hours but the septic hose for the rv was split and leaked we did geez I'm sorry it was a miscommunication but i have to pay for new hose which isn't cheap but thankfully they were prompt in sennding the bill within 3 days. I had recently bought a place near Twain Harte. El Dorado Septic did the septic inspection before I bought it and found no problems. The first weekend at the place the septic pump alarm went off on Saturday afternoon. I called the after hours tech who said he'd be out Sunday morning. The tech came out and determined the problem was a minor issue with a stuck float. Since they just did the inspection a few weeks earlier, they didn't even charge me. I was really surprised at their level of service and that they got someone out to my place on a Sunday morning. read more

Terrible service. They don't clean or service their porta-potty. They promise to service their units weekly but leave them dirty for months smelling. Need to constantly call them to come service and still wait couple more weeks. They claim their service is 'a courtesy based service' they also overcharged me by $321.75 after paying them over $5,000 for terrible service. using their porta-potty service for a year @$150 a month I decided to look into nicer Porta-Potty structures than El Dorado septic services offers. When I found a nice porta potty to purchase online I called eldorado to find out if there would be any discount in servicing my own unit versus renting theirs as I have for the past year. I was told that it would be $55 per clean out. When I asked why it was more per month then I was paying to rent their unit which was cleaned 4 times a month the salesperson Stacy had no explanation. In fact she glaze right over that point end seems to have no common sense and relating to my complaint of their pricing structure. I spoke with the manager Renee and she was no help either. As it turns out Foothill septic services has nicer units and I'll be doing business with them from now on. They could have exercised a little common sense and kept a long time customer. Instead I had to explain to them why their pricing structure lacks common sense as if I was trying to teach a three year old that very concept. read more

I just had the pleasure of using El Dorado, truly unsung heroes! I have an old system, that has been modified with lots of root impingement. We had a main line block (most likely roots) Multiple plumbers (three to be exact ) were unsuccessful. All plumbers agreed the main line was compromised, crushed or dislocated. I decided to excavate the whole system and check it from toilet to tank. I called Eldorado to simply locate the tank for me, I was already up to my elbows is dirt, when Matt showed up. He immediately located the lids, helped me dig, and refused to leave until it was fixed. I did not need to excavate the system, the lines were good, it just took some elbow grease! He was polite, professional, and we are now "Good To Go!" Thanks again Matt! read more

I own a vacation cabin on Sonora Pass. Last year the leach field failed and we called El Dorado Septic. The tank was pumped and rinsed and then the system was inspected. They found one of the leach lines inundated with roots and unsalvagable. I received a quote for repair and it was scheduled for repair this Spring. I was unable to be there for the project but I now have a system that is as good as new. They were true to their quote, extremely friendly and attentive throughout the entire process, and nothing less than professional. Their work was also very reasonably priced. I arrived at my cabin shortly after their work was done expecting much cleanup and rehabilitation of the backyard. I was wrong. The yard was level, brush removed piled neatly to one side and I could not have been happier with their service. It doesn't get better than this! read more

Inspected my septic for me a month later it failed the owners comment was what do you expect for a 20 year old system.

I had El Dorado do an inspection on an old system during the sale of a house in Crystal Falls. Upon inspection there were roots encroaching in the primary tank, secondary tank and tail line and distribution box. A water test was performed and 1 of 3 leach lines failed supposedly from root interference. About 2 weeks later another inspector showed up and performed another water test of the leach lines and said"yep one leach line failed". Based on these redundant inspections an estimate for repairs was developed. The company could not effect repairs prior to close of escrow so i was required to deposit the high end of the estimate as good faith for the borrowers loan approval. The day after close of escrow a repair crew was dispatched to do the repairs. The leach line didn't have to be replaced. When the distribution box was removed a bunch of roots came out of the failed leach line, which later passed water testing. Other repairs and root removal were done properly and the area was placed as close to before as possible. A covering of straw was placed over the effected area to prevent rain erosion. The repair crew deserve 5 stars. Problem is why was a second inspection conducted when we already knew the list of discrepancies from the first inspection and how odd that the final cost came to exactly what the high end cost would have been and they never even had to replace the leach line, which was the brunt of work needed. Guess that's the advantage of having to pay up front. These are life experiences we may only go through once so i feel it's important to share. So, if you find yourself in a situation where you have a second inspector show up to confirm what the first inspector found. Send him home and find another company. As for the rest i'll just chalk it up to experience at having been caught in an escrow debacle that gave the advantage to El Dorado Septic read more

This is my very first yelp review and one I had hoped not to write. We purchased our home in Sonora 5 years ago. The septic tank failed inspection and had to be replaced as part of the purchase. This was done before we moved in and we were not here during the replacement. After moving in we quickly noticed a horrible smell all day but was much worse early in the mornings and after sunset. It smelled as if we lived next door to a sewage treatment facility and or had a rotting animal carcass very close by. One morning I decided to find the culprit and discovered it was coming from near the location of the septic tank. Here I found a large area with a whitish powdery looking substance where the odor was strongest. Apparently this was contents from the old tank left within 30 feet of our home. Here I also discovered large pieces of the old septic tank left scattered. Under these large pieces was more of the white substance and the smell was disgusting. I immediately called El Dorado and told them about this. I wanted to speak to a manager or owner but after telling of my situation the woman who answered the phone said she would have someone call me. I called back a few times after not receiving that promised call and to this day have never spoken to anyone in management from El Dorado Septic. Every year after the rains more remnants are discovered. Last years rain uncovered a very large sharp piece which was exposed near where I have to walk to get down the hill. I again called because this piece needed to be dug out and removed. I have easily disposed of a garbage can full of pieces and the larger pieces were taken to the dump. We are having our tank pumped of course by a different company and to save money I uncovered the lids. What did I discover yesterday? More pieces of the old tank thus prompting the writing of this review. If this was only an issue from 5 years ago I would never have written this but because this in ongoing and my most recent phone call just months ago I feel it is needed to warn others to not use this service. These pieces are not small and should have been removed during the replacement. read more

On July 15, 2015, El Dorado Septic Service pumped out my septic tank at Cedar Ridge. The pump operator, Matt, was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Matt removed the sewer elbow with my permission. The elbow and sewer line were full of tree roots and I was given an estimate on what it would cost to perform a complete repair. I wrote a letter to the owner, Shawn Darr, and I questioned whether some of the recommendations (a clean out, popper valve, & abs pipe) were really necessary and couldn't they just replace the elbow. Shawn contacted me immediately by phone and explained why the enhancements were recommended (and now required by code) but said that if I wanted to keep the existing sewer line the way it was, they would do that. Shawn sent a crew go to my house to install a new elbow into the tank. When they saw the condition of the sewer line and the amount of roots it contained, they replaced the pipe and the elbow which were both 45 years old. When I saw how big of a job this was, I insisted on paying for it but Shawn refused to accept any payment for the service. Now I feel guilty for the amount of work they did. This is a well run company were the customer is definitely king. I think they are extremely reputable and the price of their services are very reasonable. I highly recommend their services.. read more
