Fast friendly and good cafe. Great selection of pastries and sandwiches. Right around corner from our hotel. Service was quick and friendly even though I couldn't speak Catalan. But we communicated. Universal language of cafe! Nice chill place to stop and eat and enjoy cafe or take it to go. Good ambiance. Got to while here.

Simple quick way to get a great breakfast to start the day. They have plenty of seating, so you can enjoy your pastries and drinks indoors in a cozy setting. We got the ham and cheese sandwich (which was really brie and prosciutto), an ensaimada, and hot drinks for 12EU. Really reasonable and affordable! The ham and cheese sandwich was even toasted up for us so that it was got and crispy. The ensaimada is not as sweet as it looks, even when covered with powdered sugar as the dough is more breadlike than a pastry. Paired really well with a hot latte drink to start the day.

This was the only restaurant open early enough for breakfast before my tour. Barcelona is a late city and most breakfast places are not open until 9:00 but El Fornet is open at 7:00! They have quick options like pastries, coffee, sandwiches and yogurt. The service is friendly and quick. They have ample seating and wifi so it's a great place to recharge and catch up.

I loved the cappuccino with a dash of cinnamon sugar and extra velvety foam!!! My croissant filled with pastry cream, a Catalan specialty, was so enjoyable!

This cafe is part of the El Fornet chain that has at least 10 cafes in Barcelona. Good news it doesn't feel like a chain. Located close to Passeig de Gracia, Casa Batlló, La Pedrera and luxury stores (Chanel, Louis Vuitton and the like) El Fornet is a great place to go for a quick bite. I was asked to stop taking pictures for whatever reason, minus one star for that.

Was okay! Cute cafe chain. The sandwich was not so good. Kinda pricey in the end. The cashier person rushed us :(

I think this might be the Catalan version of Panera. Nothing bad, but nothing awesome. Slow service.

While we were in Barcelona rushing to make an appointment I noticed this shop out of the corner of…read moremy eye.. it looked so good that we decided to come back just to try some of their treats and boy they did not disappoint. We tried one of their chocolate desserts, a chocolate chip cookie and a matcha drink. All of them were great.. so great that I ended up buying a pistachio brookie to go. To this day we regret not buying more stuff to bring back home. The service was great and quick. The place was clean and cute to dine in with a few tables! Overall I'd definitely stop by if I'm in Barcelona again!

Had to try a gluten free bakery while in Barcelona of course (one of many). Chok is for chocolate…read morebut they didn't sell any actual chocolates... but there was a rotation of special flavored cinnamon rolls, rookies, brownies, mini cakes, cookies, and cheesecakes. There were a few loaves of bread but mostly there were those sweets and it seems they have those all the time. We got a regular cinnamon roll because the flavored ones didn't have as much of the frosting on it which is the best part, and a pistachio cream rookie... no im not sure what a rookie is but it looked like a Levain cookie (the famous one from NY) as it was a mountain of a dessert. We had both treats heated up... although they weren't actually hot lol. The cinnamon roll was on par with others I've had, maybe even slightly drier but the frosting was amazing and I still enjoyed it a lot. The rookie was quite decadent and the inside was an almost cake texture? Still quite tasty but I think both would've knocked it out of the park if they were actually hot and ooey gooey. Five stars because it wasn't bad but I can't say I'm super impressed. I will be going to other gf bakeries over this one
