Everything was so good that it left me to wonder, is anyone in America doing brunch like THIS?! It was that good. They are doing brunch better than many spots in America. Everything tasted fresh and was well seasoned. The benedict was up there with one of the best I've had. The French toast was sensational. The brioche was so tender and butter that you didn't even need syrup (well, it doesn't come with any anyway). But it was still moist and delicious that it didn't need it. I also ordered a banana and raspberry smoothie which was good, and my husband kind of made a custom soda made of mango puree and their in-house sparkling water. It was actually good! Was not aware that Barcelona is known for their French toast but you can bet I do now. The eggs for salmon Benedict were excellently poached and the Hollandaise was perfectly paired with the salmon. The shashuka reminded me of an omelette but with pasta sauce and ricotta. Really tasty. UGOT it goin on!! We stopped into this cute corner restaurant craving a more Americanized brunch. The interior is adorable, French style coffee shop with homemade cakes and pastries as well as a beautiful brunch menu. We honestly wanted to try it all, but started with the bacon Benny and shakshuka with chorizo. Our server was SO nice. She greeted us with a smile and had no problem answering our questions. Everyone speaks English but we did our best with our Spanglish. As for the food: UGOT TO GO HERE!! Coming from Vegas, I take my brunches seriously and they did not disappoint. The hollandaise.. hands down the best I've ever had, and I do consider myself a sauce connoisseur, a sauce boss if you will. The shakshuka was executed perfectly. The right balance of tomatoes and roasted red pepper. Both the egg in my shakshuka and the poached eggs on the Benny were cooked to perfection. Beautiful whites with a runny yolk cascading down homemade brioche. UGOT me goin. I think we licked our plates clean because it would be sinful not to. We were absolutely satisfied in every sense of the word. However.. we had to try their French toast. We went with the classic. Pear confit, thin slices of fresh pear and strawberries atop THE butteriest piece of homemade brioche, with a small heap of mascarpone. So good. I didn't even miss my American syrup. The ice Americano was strong and awakening but delicious. I didn't think the French toast would fill me up but they were just right! The potatoes on the side were also cooked to perfection. I also got their special mocha coffee which was great! Ugot seems to be one of the new favourite place for brunch of my friends and I'm happy that we managed to find seats and enjoy a good brunch. It's very small, so it's probably not great for groups larger than six people (which is pretty standard for most European cafes) I ordered the French Toast, which is marinated in Gran Marnier and topped off with either ricotta or mascarpone cheese and a couple pieces of fresh fruit. My husband ordered the eggs benedict with bacon and said the brioche was one of the best ones he's ever eaten. I also ordered an iced cafe con leche which came in a huge glass with simple syrup on the side to add to it.
