Don't let the name fool you. Great food at amazing price for the area. Has plenty of outdoor seating which was nice on a cool night. I don't drink but the drink menu looked quite varied. Service was excellent. If you are in the Stephen Avenue area this is definitely worth a stop. read more

My cousin and I came at a busy time, but our server was super sweet and spent time with us when we couldn't make a decision. Beet & Goat Cheese Salad: This salad was amazing! Perfect goat cheese to beet ratio with sweet almonds to balance the flavors out. I also love the fact there was rosemary on the salad! You can add protein for $2 more. This is a great spot for drinks and appetizers after work or dinner later on. They have both inside and outdoor seating. The service was good and our person checked back with us several times to make sure we had what we needed. The wings were cooked just right with a very generous amount of bbq sauce. We have been in Calgary for about 5 days, we have experience some amazing food, hospitality and service from China Town to the Belmont Diner but today we decided to try El Furniture Warehouse and were sadly disappointed and I must admit frustrated by the lack of service. Granted it was lunch time and the outside dining was busy but we were told to sit anywhere inside, after waiting 20 minutes to be recognized and seeing others being served that had entered the restaurant after us we departed, I really wanted those beer batter tacos. Wait staff walked past us numerous times, so it wasn't like they didn't see us, maybe it's because we were a same sex mixed couple or it could just be good old incompetence. I had been to The Warehouse in Montreal and Vancouver and I'm so happy it is now in Calgary as well! Food is very tasty and it is only $5.95 any item on the food menu. The portions are decent and will let you satisfied, but you can always order something else since it is such a good price! I sometimes make it for the Power Hour which is 8oz beer for $2. It is very common to order more than one 8oz beer so the server usually asks how many you want... haha. The place has a good atmosphere and servers are very friendly. What an amazing find! Visiting town a friend suggested this place for their great happy hours. Small sizes but with the price tag you could try maybe 2-3 of them. I tried the lager 8oz beer for $2 and mushroom burger with fries and honey garlic chicken wings. The have a lovely Ambience with dim lights and big window if you feel like people watching on Stephen Ave. Even the washrooms are cool on their design. Look at the floor. The service was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu and her preferences and it was always very attentive refilling our beverages that we had to stop at some point :) I really enjoy the menu and service here. It's probably my own fault. I am not familiar with the area and just walked in. I was probably the oldest person in the room by about 20 years. So loud my server couldn't hear and gout my order wrong. Food was ok, but the portions were small. I think if you are going with your college buds and you are only buying drinks, it's probably fine. The food is surprisingly good! I have been to the warehouse in Toronto and there is always a long line up there. But their food is terrible. I was expecting the same quality in Calgary but it's actually good. I ordered the General Thai chicken bowl. For $8 it's a really cheap meal and fills you up! This is the first place that I ever went to as soon as I landed in Calgary & in Canada for the first time. It was 12 am midnight and they were still open. The food you get for the price is unbelievable. It's delicious. You may try their spicy chicken sandwich. The fries feel so fresh. I liked their chicken tinga tacos. They are great too. This place is a cute bar vibe. I went for some drinks and food during the day and I really enjoyed it. I would say the overall experience was very good, food, drinks and service. The only mishap that happened was I requested dip for my fries and the waitress totally forgot. She was very sweet about it when she realized and got me fresh fries, so I wouldn't say it really negatively effected my overall view of the place. I will go back for sure!
