Most tire places were already closed and we needed a tire patch done asap. We were looking around online and most places weren't open until later monday, we were able to find this shop just 5 min away from our hotel and they were able to get us in and out Monday morning with a quick tire patch. They did a fast job would definitely recommend this shop.

Steve Brown put the car on the rack and evaluated the condition of the suspension parts and the front office provided me with a quote to replace the needed suspension parts, 4 wheel align the car, and replace the tires. After authorizing the work I picked up the car the same day they completed the repairs and installed the tires. The cars suspension system is completely restored and drives like the machine that is was from the factory. Excellent workmanship and clear communication from the front desk. This has been one of the most satisfying repair experiences I can remember. They only charge $10.00 over their cost on the tires. The performance on the recommended tires for my all wheel drive with the suspension upgrades is absolutely amazing. If you need alignment work Steve has the experience to get the job done right the first time, and they preordered the parts so he could complete the work the same day it was dropped off.

They found a more cost effective solution than ford would have and had it fixed in less than a week, for not much money. Mr. transmission, who did a free scan for me, and sent me their way from next door. Nick at the front desk said he could fit me in, which I greatly appreciated so we could potentially get home the same day. I thought we were in good hands considering they worked me in same day. Sadly that's where it went downhill. He didn't give me any sort of initial quote or disclaim there would be a "diagnostic labor charge". Since the guy next door did it no charge, I assumed it was the same with Alpine since this wasn't discussed. Additionally, he did say we probably needed to change the spark plugs, which I assumed wouldn't be too bad- you can get iridium NGK's for around $35 / 6, plus a little labor for the install. Daniel swapped a coil pack to rule that out as the potential issue, and said its most likely rocker arm- a 10 hour job - obviously we couldn't get that done but we'd be ok to drive home and get that fixed when we had more time. When we got the bill, we were horrified that it was nearly $700 for 6 spark plugs plus labor. Once I took a closer look at the bill at home, I noticed some shady and dishonest practices. The initial "estimate" I was never actually given was $145, which would've been reasonable for the scope of the work. However, while the car was there about 2.5 hours, I was charged for 3.8 hours of labor (I was double dipped obviously since Daniel is listed for both labor hours), which I'd call out Daniel wasn't actively working on the car the entire time (the car was sitting outside, and so were we). He also took it for a 30 min test drive around lunch- you can probably figure out what happened there. As soon as he would've drove it off the lot, you wouldn't need to get far to tell you the spark plugs wasn't the culprit. Also, we got charged for $36 worth of "shop supplies"- not sure what was "supplied" other than simply swapping spark plugs, which were sold to us way over retail price ($20 each). Lastly, looking at the invoice, on the back it states you wouldn't be charged more than 10% / $25 of the repair estimate unless determined additional repairs were necessarily. This tells me something went seriously wrong and there was a clear lack of communication. We had even brought in some doughnuts for the guys.. we felt completely taken advantage of. If we had been transparently quoted $680 up front, we would've certainly gone somewhere else. Worth mentioning, I emailed the owner going over the issues and discrepancies, and after a week, never got a reply. Not surprised! Also an update- we took it into the dealer, and they said Alpine misdiagnosed the issue. Instead of being a bad rocker arm ($2,100), it was a bad coil pack ($18). Seriously glad we got a second opinion, and I would strongly suggest going elsewhere to a more honest and reputable mechanic!

I was VERY displeased to learn when I called in to find out where the camper was (who checks a storage lot every day?) that Mat Dog had kept it for 8 DAYS before contacting me to let me know they had it - and that contact only happened because I went looking for it. Temple (the owner?) basically told me that they could wait 10 days legally before they had to call. But why would anyone wait that long?? Oh right - because they charge $30 each day - and why not make $300 extra dollars by avoiding resolving an obvious issue. They could not meet me when I tried to show up that day during business hours - but said they wouldn't charge more than the [unnecessary] 8 days, only to have the driver that met me the following morning reply with 'we charged you for 12 days'. And that was on top of towing and booting charges. Almost $600!!! If I owned a towing company - and wanted to do as their website claims: "to serve the people of Carbondale and the surrounding area as best we can... We pride ourselves on the reputation that we have built over the years for excellent customer service" I would probably start by calling an unsuspecting person on DAY 1 to let them know I had their property, and not just let the bill rack up for the sole purpose of financial gain at their expense. And I've owned a successful company in the valley for over 17 years - and have seen unethical companies come and go during that time. At no point was Temple interested in making this right. No 'hey - my bad for not calling you... I'll just charge you for the tow and 2 days'. That leaves me with no other conclusion than this company is run unethically, and as such - I recommend avoiding them at all costs.
