Holy Guacamole! I've been wandering around Europe for 2 months, and I came in here from the Google reviews, the tacos are exactly what you need! The meat was fall apart good, the toppings were just enough for your taco, and the meal filled me up perfectly. The staff speaks English, Spanish, and French, they're incredibly helpful and warm. My waitress recommended the three top selling tacos and sent those my way, I'm glad she did- I'd have been lost to choose. 10/10! The inside is a tight fit, with small tables outside as well, inside is mostly 4 seaters with a 2 seater individual table by the window, the music is loud enough to hear and quiet enough to easily hear your company. After spending a majority of the day at the Versailles palace, my wife and I were ready for dinner. After browsing a plethora of options (there is not a shortage of dining options in Paris), we agreed to Mexican food. Ironically, the restaurant that we chose, El Guacamole, was a five minute walk from our hotel. Although the inside and outside seating of the restaurant was quite busy, an employee was able to quickly seat us at an indoor community bench that had just become available. We placed orders for the following: Frozen Margarita (wife), Frozen Passion Fruit Margarita (myself), Nachos Con Queso, Choriqueso Quesadilla (wife), and Deshebrada de Res Burrito (myself). The delicious drinks arrived five minutes later and the food arrived in less than 15 minutes. The Nachos Con Queso was a delicious starter that we shared and set the expectations for what I thought would be a good overall meal. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Respectfully, the food lacked flavor. My burrito probably would have been good if served with sauce, same with my wife's quesadilla. We both used the remaining sauce from the Nachos Con Queso to add the desired flavor. Knowing that we had to doctor up our own food, I cannot give a positive review in good faith. We reside in California where the bar is set pretty high for good, authentic Mexican food. Therefore, maybe I should have lowered my expectations for Mexican food in Paris. This the name of the restaurant we went to but it might have been a different location. Does this compare to the Mexican food you can get in NY or the SW or Southern states or Mexico? No. Was it a surprisingly decent and affordable late night spot to find in Paris? Yes. Service is quick and friendly. All of the tacos kind of blended together for me flavor wise but the guacamole was decent and I found it filling and welcome after a long day of wandering through museums. read more

After being in Paris for 6 weeks, my friends and I finally decided that we needed Mexican food back in our lives. Even though I saw that this place had 3 stars I decided to give it a chance anyway. There is a "deal" of €10 for 3 tacos and a drink. I chose a chicken one, a carnitas one, and a beef one with horchata as my drink. The tacos were not terrible, but they were far from amazing. The texture of the tortillas was interesting, but not in a good way. My friends ordered ceviche and although the seafood part was pretty good, the chips were stale and they had a difficult time finishing their order. The horchata tasted kind of fake, but I guess I couldn't really expect anything else. I would not really recommend coming here unless you are desperate for some diversity. read more

It was a busy, sunny day near the canal Saint Martin and this restaurant was obviously overworked and understaffed. The tacos took AN HOUR to prepare. The industrial nachos took 30m. The service was all over the place: people who ordered 30-40 minutes after us got served before us. Half of the menu items were unavailable. Service wasn't apologetic at all just : "We're getting slammed". It wasn't so much getting slammed as the staff doesn't seem to have worked in a busy restaurant before.... Where do I start... as a Mexican, I will tell you this is by no means Mexican food. It is bland, with a strange flavor as nothing I have ever tasted before. By far, this has been the worst place I have ever ate at. The kids did not even eat, had to go to a different restaurant. An evening with my sister , we passed many times in front of this Mexican restaurant and tonight it's the night... We are trying it! It's still quiet, 7pm on a Saturday night. It's a sunny day so there is the choice between seating on the terrace or seating inside which does not feel too dark with the massive glass window. You both went for the menu at 10 euros! So cheap we thought! But honestly that's the perfect deal! You get 3 tacos and a drink and the portions was just right. I tried the tortillas with pork (gringa) one with chicken (pollo) and the third one was with chorizo. All of these come with cheese in it. The taste was fine, I won't say it's the best Mexican I had because it is definitely not. Not sure what is missing but it has done the job of feeling my belly for the night without me complaining. Therefore I can recommend if you fancy Mexican food around canal st Martin and the staff who seems for sure to be Mexican would welcome you nicely with their nice Spanish / South American accent read more

Being from California this isn't authentic mexican food. Overpriced accompanied with low quality ingredients. Horchata comes from a pre-mixed jug. Margarita comes from a pre-mixed slush machine. For only have around 10 items on the menu, you should be able to make these two items fresh instead of being lazy. I got the beef burrito which came with guacamole (no flavor) and processed cheese. Pros: They had Modelo cerveza & spicy green sauce Cons: Not authentic, overpriced, lacked flavor, and no pride in what they served to customers. read more

This is a nice taqueria. I've been here several (more than enough) times and I know the cook and I've met the owner. They are very nice people and the service is amazing. The food is actually quite authentic and tasty but rather expensive for tacos. Sure it's the price to pay for authentic mexican food in Paris, but considering how casual this place is; I think it might be a bit overpriced. I must have tried everything on the menu already and I do recommend the food. Give it a try and you'll enjoy it. Have a Mexican beer while you're at it. read more

I moved to Paris about a year ago from Los Angeles, by way of New Mexico, and today I was seriously craving a burrito (if only to keep my equilibrium balanced, since I had sustained myself for so many years on a burrito-based diet). Lucky for me, within the past year Paris has experienced a mini Mexican fast food boom, so I was not without options. Unfortunately, the reaction I've had to most Parisian burritos has ranged from mild to severe disappointment. I had not yet had a burrito here that I would consider decent. That's until I went to El Guacamole, in the 10th. They make what I can say without reservation is a legitimately decent burrito. And that is high praise, for a tacqueria that's far, far away from Mexico. It may not have been 100% authentic, but it sure was tasty. At 6 Euros for a burrito it would not be cheap for America, but it was a good value for crazy expensive Parisian standards, which don't seem to correspond to any other reality. Also, the people working there were friendly, which does count for something in grumpy France. If you're in Paris and, like me, you have a hankering for a burrito that cannot be quelled, then I would highly recommend stopping by El Guacamole for a tasty treat. read more

I'm writing just to warn people that what el Guacamolé is calling 'pollo asado', with a description of 'grilled' or 'grillé'... is actually not grilled- it's roast chicken made from all the chicken parts! Shame on me for getting Mexican food in Paris, but I was desperate and it was 9pm and I wanted takeout. It's not good, but I've had worse. The strange creamy, green sauce it came with (some guacamole thing I guess) was actually really tasty, so giving it 2 stars. The red sauce it came with tasted like tomato soup! The waiter took our order down on his phone and still forgot the chips and queso. The tacos don't have much flavor but the chorizo was so good. I even ordered an extra. Coming from states and studying in Paris there comes a time when one misses Mexican food. The bad reviews are kind of shocking to read because I haven't encountered any of these problems when coming here to eat. Except maybe one time they forgot to put cheese in my burrito but that's well forgiven. Honestly I come here as often as I can because of the food and people. Plus I love their margaritas. The best is when it's sunny outside and you take it to go and eat by the canal. 5/5 for me, because they're a small place and they try their best which means more to me than missing cheese in my burrito. read more

Tacos were legit. Carne Asada was pretty authentic. Guacamole was good but needed some jalapeños. Margaritas cold and strong.
