I came here altering eating a couple tostadas from an other place. So I was already full and I didn't think these tostadas would be so damn big. This place was also a little overwhelming at first. There's a different line for the different items offered. I ordered two of each of their black clams and red clams. These were really good by themselves and would probably order a concha sampler next time. But their ceviche de Camaron was where it's at. One was very filling and damn delicious. I didnt try this place on my first Ensenada trip, I'm glad I tried it on my second trip and will definitely be visiting them kn every trip going forward. read more

Been to this food cart in Ensenada twice! It's a staple now anytime we are on a cruise and port in Ensenada. I ordered the aguachile the first time and the ceviche tostada the 2nd visit! The seafood is incredibly fresh! If you a fan of spicy seafood, definitely order the aguachiles! Be warned though, it is quite spicy! The ceviche tostada I ordered the 2nd time was so fresh and had a variety mix of seafood (octopus, shrimp, etc.) Everything on the menu is very reasonably priced and portions are huge. If you're ever in Ensenada Mexico, this is definitely the spot for some seafood! It's always packed so you know you're at the right spot. There is no seating area, just order, stand and eat. The portions are good and the taste is amazing. You see them prepare your order right in front of you. I have tried a few different things yet my favorite is the camaron chipotle. There's plenty of hot sauces, chips and tostadas to go with your food. My wife and I watched a Youtuber visit this food cart and tracked it down on Saturday, December 31, 2022, for lunch. This place had a line, and the seafood was ridiculously fresh. I'm talking like just caught, off the hook fresh. We ordered the extra-large, 32-ounce cup of ceviche for 300 pesos ($15.50). The guys cut and prepare the ceviche at the cart, in front of you, with lots of lime. They have six different kinds of ceviche, all of which contain tomato, onion, avocado, ketchup, lime, cilantro, and cucumber. The six kinds of ceviche are: Campechano- clam, squid, scallop, shrimp, sea snail, mussel, oyster, black clam and octopus; Guerito- clam, octopus, shrimp, and scallop; Clasico- shrimp, octopus and clam; Rey del Mar- clam, black clam and oyster; Cocido- shrimp, sea snail, squid, and octopus; and Bichi- shrimp with clamato. All of these are super fresh and made to order. I had the Guerito and loved it and my wife had the Campechano and loved it too. I never heard of this place while I was doing my Ensenada foodie research, but I stumbled upon this cart while I was walking around the main tourist shopping spots in Ensenada and there were many people crowding around it. It was close by the Bandera Monument (the huge Mexican flag). The seafood is fresh and the price is affordable for what you're getting. I got a fully loaded seafood tostada to go and they separated all the ingredients so it doesn't get soggy. All the seafood tasted very clean and delicious. This is really a raw seafood lover's dream. The service was great. Some of the workers there spoke fluent English so I didn't have any problems ordering. However, what I noticed after I ordered is that each side of the cart has lines for different dishes. One side was for seafood cocktails and the other side was for tostadas. read more

We were lucky enough to try something off the menu. I believe it was a complete assortment of all the seafood they had. And it was FANTASTIC. I snarfed that whole thing up not only because we were strapped with time, but really, it was delicious. What made it even better was it was compliments of the tour! This place is almost always a stop for us on the way to Valle de Guadelupe. Fresh seafood and usually open when La Guerrerense (the cart, not the restaurant) isn't. El Guero is right across the street from the cruise ship dock and usually has a line but service is fairly quick. We usually get the Especiales, Aguachile, and Guerita. The Ceviche de Calamar is also delicious but they usually sell out of it around lunch time. Order first and pay when you finish eating. There aren't any tables or chairs so prepare to eat standing up. And bring cash. read more

This place was recommended by family as the best place for Ensenada style cheviche and fish tacos. The tables were dirty and no one would clean them. The service is horrible after waiting more than an hour they finally sat us. We waited more than an hour after ordering the waiter told us the kitchen was closed and we were not going to get all of the food we ordered. The salsa bar was empty there are not condiments. Totally bad experience and I would never come back. It is zero stars but it will not let me. I wanted to introduce my kids to ceviche, so I scoured places that were in driving distance from where we were staying. This place had amazing reviews, so we decided to visit. We went on an off time, so it wasn't too crowded. It was super easy to find. We all got a regular ceviche tostada. I've never had ceviche on a tostada so it was new to me as well. I usually have it just on a plate. It was delicious!! So worth the drive down. It had a perfect touch of lime to it. It wasn't too fishy and tasted amazing. You can also add hot sauce to it if you want. One of my kids liked it, and one of them didn't. But one of them is insanely picky, so don't go off his opinion. If you want fresh seafood AND street food, this is the place to go!!!! It's clean and always packed, it's a favorite for locals and tourists. I got a Tostada Guerito I believe, with everything in it. For $1 you get a tostada with ceviche, pico de Gallo, and it's contains shrimp, oysters, octopus, clams, mussels, pretty much anything you can think of! FOR $1 PEOPLE!!! This is a block away from the stand called La Guerrense where Anthony Bourdain visited, and I promise it's just as good! There is a difference though: this stand has more variety of fresh seafood that is topped on the tostadas (what I ordered) and has a very fresh flavor. You can add your own toppings as needed. The other location is more savory and seasoned, I ordered the fish tostada and it was not only spicy but really flavorful with a lot of seasoning. Some people love that and some people don't like spicy and want to taste the fresh seafood there eating, so that's the different but they're both AMAZING! My recommendation? While exploring the area we found a bunch of locals surrounding a food stand and we knew we'd found our spot. The mariscos at El Guero was fresh and packed with flavor. My wife and I had a few raw oysters to start, then we shared an octopus cocktail that was straight from heaven and melted in our mouths. We wished we could've eaten all our meals during our get-away from this simple little cart. It's a little chaotic ordering and paying and talking to the employees, but totally worth it for the amazing seafood. I love the fact that everyone just stands around the cart or on the sidewalk as they scarf down their meals. There's no pretense or attitude here; just stellar seafood at cheap prices. At first look I wondered what was being given away and then I realized all those people were in line for seafood! I knew it was a must try, so we stood in line for about 15 minutes until I realized there are THREE lines--ceviche tostadas, cockteles, and the in we were in, of course the longest one, mariscos tostadas. Worthy another visit, probably just for the CAMPECHANA. All of the mariscos tostadas were full of juice and the actual tostada was soggy. This mariscos cart was recommended by our horseback ride tour guide. A definite winner as we were there for about thirty minutes and saw at least three different deliveries of fresh seafood from the market. The location is convenient and the employees were very helpful. We were fortunate enough to find a young gentleman who spoke fluent English and was able to direct our orders in the appropriate direction. My wife and I will never turn down an opportunity to eat some raw oysters and a dozen is exactly what we started with. They were shucked with squeeze of lime juice being the only addition. I remember our horseback tour guide saying that the waters in the All Saints Bay were very salty and that whales migrated to the bay to birth because of the salinity. The oyster liquor was by far and away the most briny that I've ever tasted. Almost face cringing, a beer would have been nice to temper the saltiness. We followed the oysters with a fairly large portion of the fish and shrimp ceviche tostada. It was loaded with marinated seafood. I think we finished this in less than five minutes. Finally, we finished with the mixed seafood tostada. This dish again was loaded with seafood, dominated with clams and shrimps. What amazed me was the speed at which the young man preparing our food diced a cucumber without a cutting board. The process is the same as other carts where you order, eat, and pay later. The peso conversion will be done for you and they will accept your American cash. Our food came out to a veritable bargain of under $20. I would recommend everything that we ordered and I'm certain that the other seafood is just as fresh and just as delicious. The scallop was the one dish that we wanted to try but were not able. I can't speak for other carts, but I don't see why I would stop at any other mariscos cart if I'm in Ensenada again. read more

In a town full of touristy "meh" food, this is real-life, honest-to-goodness, amazing Mexican seafood served in the ultimate authentic environment: on the street, eaten standing up, with salsas that will kick you in the --- errr, tastebuds --- if you don't go easy. Also the luna de miel (honeymoon) salsa is the absolute BEST salsa I've ever eaten. My friend and I agreed all the flavors popped. The place was surrounded by so many locals eating here. People said that they came from all over.
