We drove to the local Firestone, but the wait would have been too long. The manager at Firestone suggested we try Herman Power Tire about a quarter mile down the road. I'm glad he did, because the fine folks at Herman Power came through for us. Despite the place being busy (a good sign), the lady at the counter assured us that the wait time would be minimal. She sympathized with our haste to continue on our trip and gave our case top priority. That was kind and unexpected. The lobby was homey and comfy with several leather recliners, a couch, a TV, a large freezer stocked with complimentary ice cream bars, and a table piled high with reading materials. I considered skimming the latest issue of "Good Housekeeping" but opted instead for something lighter: "The Holy Bible." Before I could finish reading about how I should be stoned publicly for practicing the occult and necromancy (Leviticus 20:27), the technician returned with some good news. He had found the culprit: a roofing nail imbedded in the left rear tire. He checked all four tires and completed the repair in less than thirty minutes. Even better: the entire bill was just $16, including tax! I seldom leave a review after just one visit, so I contemplated returning to Nacodoches next year, hammering a roofing nail into a different tire, and seeing if the service we received on our first visit was just a fluke. I really just wanted an excuse to try the complimentary ice cream and give it a scathing one-star review for containing carrageenan. My dad rejected that idea (stick in the mud), so I'll have to assume that the staff at Herman Power Tire are always so kind, helpful, and expedient. If you need your vehicle serviced in Nacodoches, then look no further than this place!

They stay very busy due to their quality work, so plan on dropping your car off if possible. They communicate well regarding repairs, and have even passed up higher dollar services when they weren't required. Not many places have the integrity to turn down extra money when the service isn't truly needed, but I trust the guys at Boatman.

Wal-Mart told me I had a Strut leaking. I called Boatman, asked how much would it cost to replace…read morethe (2) two front struts? They said, bring it in so we can check. After driving our car, the guy came in and said, it sounds like a Honda issue. That when applying the brakes, it makes a weird sound. I told Ben that a couple bolts from the Caliper bracket had fell out. So we dropped off the car this morning and I called about 1:00 pm. They said the car was ready, we paid CASH $4,000. HOWEVER. OUR CAR IS STILL MAKING THAT WEIRD NOISE WHEN BRAKING. They had the front end apart to R&R the Struts. I guess they figured that the Brake issues wasn't worth worrying about. Just got off the phone with Lee. He seemed surprised as well. And just bring it back? They had it for half a day. The guy who test drove it seemed concerned? Please, someone tell me, What, what am I missing? I even told Ben, while the tires are off, if they could make sure those bolts to the caliper bracket were tight. I called to ask for an…read moreestimate to replace the fron wheel bearings in my truck to see if their pricing was reasonable. The very curt employee who asnwered the phone said that in order to do that, they would have to do a complete vehicle inspection for $90. I explained that I do not want a full vehicle inspection and would like a rough estimate for the bearing replacement. The answer was "No". So let me get this straight: They are willing to give up the business of anyone who refuses services that they did not ask for...... This is a ridiculous policy and yet more evidence that Firestone is a horrible company to deal with. I have yet to have a positive experience with them.
