The food was great. I ordered the Chicken quesadilla and it was perfect, tortilla was toasted and crunchy on the outside and the cheese and chicken ratio was exactly as it should be. Fresh Guacamole and a side of beans and rice made the dinner complete. I ended up with lunch the following day. The waitress was at the table moments after I took the last sip of my drink asking me if I wanted another....she was back with a fresh one in under 60 seconds. Love this place!!! read more

Great takeout spot! The food was amazing and great portion sizes. Chips are great and a side of guacamole is very large. They package everything so well so nothing spills. My wife and I got a gift certificate for Christmas and are glad we did. We started with a glass of wine and a very tasty house margarita for me. The chips and salsa were outstanding. Fresh and warm. We tried a couple of chicken and cheese empanadas to start. Wow, very authentic. My wife hade the chili Colorado and I had the beef enchiladas with the red sauce. Both were great. The beef melts in your mouth. I got black beans in place of the regular beans. It had small pieces of pork in it. What a unexpected surprise. It was so good. Add another round of drinks. We split the flan for desert. Homemade and off the chart. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this new place tonight by accident (we were wanting to grab some tacos at La Vic's and didn't realized they were closed on Sundays). We were pleasantly surprised. They start every table off with some homemade chips and salsa as well as refried bean dip. The salsa left a lot to be desired but the bean dip was addictive. The margarita was delicious and you can tell they make them fresh and don't just use a pre-made mix. My boyfriend got the red sangria, super sweet recipe but still okay (he liked it, I like a more wine-forward sangria personally). I got one of each their tacos (chicken, beef, pastor) and a papusa. The pastor taco was the best of the three, but I'm also a bit biased because pastor tacos nearly always take the cake for me anywhere I go. Super simple, authentic tacos though where the only extras on them are onions and cilantro. The beef was good and the chicken taco was fine (in all fairness I am hardly ever blown away by a chicken taco). My boyfriend got a steak burrito which he said was really good, it was stuffed with all the good stuff). The papusa was the star of the show on my plate, the red sauce they serve with it was SO good I wish I could've taken some home with me. Their salsa verde was also really nice, just spicy enough. The service was great, super friendly staff even though there was a large party coming in just as we were sitting down. Our waitress also let us try their horchata on our way out and it was REALLY good. We'll definitely be back! Happy to have an authentic Mexican place open up around here. read more

My husband and I enjoyed our first visit to El Jalisco very much and happy to have a new Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. Service, food, and decor were great. We both had the fajitas. Vegetables were cooked perfectly. Lots of cilantro on top and beans on the side were better than most. Only suggestion is less salt on the steak and shrimp. House margaritas are tasty but a little expensive at 10.99 and considerably higher than mojitos. Maybe add to menu what type of tequila is in the house margarita that makes it premium. Loved the included starter of salsa and bean dip. Fun, upbeat music in the background too. Overall, we were impressed and will be back! read more

Three words: Mexican Style Corn. It is so delicious!!! 4 stars just for that. We got it spicy and it was just perfect -- hot and juicy and flavorful. I like the fresh daily vegetables in the veggie burritos, which are huge -- but I can't give 5 stars because the rice to bean ratio is significantly subpar. Too much rice and only about 3 pinto beans in the whole burrito. I wonder if there was some mistake or miscommunication. I will try them again soon and post an update about whether they step up their bean game in the veggie burritos! Glad you've moved to Cabot St, El Jalisco; keep up the good work. read more

El Jalisco was great. My friends and I went in a few nights ago and everyone was very happy. Our food was delicious and the margaritas were great! My girlfriend and I decided to try El Jalisco two Saturdays ago. And we're so glad we did. My girlfriend got a chicken enchilada and I got shrimp fajitas. We both appreciated the freshness of the food and found their recipes to be very flavor filled. We really feel that this place is an excellent addition to Beverly's culinary experience. We used to love Cielito Lindo which used to occupy this space. We have been waiting for something to replace it. El Jalisco now occupies my spot as the best Mexican restaurant in the area. read more
