I know I know. I already have reviewed this place a couple of times. I don't even know why other Mexican eateries open up in Beverly when La Vic is here. Every local gets food here. Every one. The food cannot be touched. By anyone. Enchiladas are great, burritos are standouts, brisket in anything tastes so good I you would think I'd made it. So tender so good not fatty at all. Truly, it's just great. And busy and packed and not cheap but not expensive either. So good. We go twice a month and have been since it opened. I was visiting from out of town, and my family recommended this restaurant. I ordered the torta steak con queso, a Mexican steak and cheese sandwich. It comes with lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo, pickled onions, avocado, jalapeños, and pureed beans. I opted to omit the avocado, jalapeños, and beans. The sandwich was super flavorful and delicious. I usually don't like red onions, but the pickled onions on this sandwich were a tasty touch. Next time, I'll be getting extra onions--it was that good! The food was well-packaged, seasoned perfectly, and served hot. I was initially hesitant because I'm not usually a fan of Mexican food in the U.S., but they did a great job. We found this place after running late for a show at Off Cabot. My wife jumped out of the car as I went to find a parking spot. It was a perfect pit stop. First off, the gentleman that greats you at the front of the restaurant was awesome. very helpful, understanding and friendly. He helped with the take-out orders, as well, which got customers in and out. My wife ordered a taco dish, which she loved....see pic. The amount of people coming in to pick up orders was amazing. My husband and I were visiting from Chicago and were craving some tacos. We found La Victoria, and absolutely loved the flavor! We ordered guacamole, chips, the pastor tacos and the burrito patron- we would recommend all, the food was delicious! For vegetarians: the veggie options are relatively basic, and still expensive. Think 10$+ for just veggies, beans and rice in a burrito. Because I love La Victoria Taqueria and their authentic, quality food, I've given them a handful more chances to redeem themselves and I believe they have. The service is great; they are very friendly and helpful, even though they have so many orders. It's nice to see that they are really busy, because I remember when they first opened and was shocked that they weren't more popular. Now they are, rightfully so. They have great food, whether you get the tacos, the burritos, the bowls, or the tortas, you can't go wrong. Their tortas are the best though. I've tried the marinated chicken, steak and vegetables, and the chicken is my favorite, as the veggies are very fresh but unseasoned. I do wish the burrito was grilled itself to make it crispier rather than soft, but still a great choice. Great prices too! Not overpriced like most Beverly restaurants. Food - I was a regular customer for a few years, but quality is not good anymore. This week, (JAN-15-2026) time got 2 burritos and they both were dry, most rice than anything else, the black beans were hard, the meat was not of 1st quality and the wheat tortilla was hard on the edges. Don't know what's going. The price also went up considerably. From a prior experience, the tacos, as well, lack fillings. No buying from this place anymore. read more

It is a cute and small dining area, the staff was friendly, and they were willing to make quesadillas for my son with corn tortillas. He said 9.8/10 on delicious level! I am so confused how my review is so drastically different from the overall 4.5 rating but I had an awful experience here. I don't know if something changed or I caught them on an off day, but I ordered a chicken burrito add guacamole to go and it took 25 minutes, while the place was empty. That's fine if the reason is because everything is fresh and made to order, but that was not the case. When I ate the burrito it was terrible- hard beans, too much rice, and dry, overcooked chicken. Came here as a recommendation from a patient I took care of at work. Boy was I happy I did! Staff were incredibly friendly when I called to ask if there was indoor dining and when placing our order. Fish taco had a plump moist filet (not fried), topped with a flavorful sauce and fresh pickled onions. The quesadilla was more so a flatted burrito which I preferred as there was meat and cheese in every bite rather than the traditional semicircular shape where the outside is just the tortilla itself. We got the cow tongue with sour cream and cheese added. It had a beautiful cheese pull affect and the warm gooey feeling to match. The cow tongue was tender and cut into bite size pieces. For the tortas, we got the dos caidas which is pork carnitas and chorizo with added jalapeños. I loved the bread used and the fresh slice of tomato to offset the heavy salty meats. The carnitas was seasoned well and the chorizo bits were finely chopped up. What made the meal even better was the array of homemade sauces that ranged in spicy levels significantly. There was a deep red sauce that had a smokey and pepper taste as the most mild. Then the light green sauce was made from jalapeños. The light orange sauce was made from habaneros which packed the strongest but best punch. It was just enough to where we could still enjoy the flavors of the meats and sauces for the food. Overall excellent experience and would love to come again. I can't find a single thing to complain about. read more

Homemade chips and guacamole was good! I got the choriqueso to eta after the reviews on here were so good. Someone's photo on here made it look bomb! Butttttt I didn't care for it. Too much chorizo and not enough cheese. I actually think they over cooked my cheese as it was not drippy and very brown. The cheese actually looks exactly like the bread if you look at my photo. We ordered online and then informed the staff that we wanted to eat at the restaurant. We selected a table outside as it was a beautiful night. Our order was completed early and was absolutely outstanding. We have been eating Torta for years, and these were clearly some of the best ever. The meat and cheese grilled together is a nice touch and all the flavors blended perfectly. The fish tacos were a hit as they came beautifully presented had crunch from the slaw and the fish was perfectly prepared. The chicken plato was quite tasty and very filling with the beans and rice. While we sat and ate, at least 20-30 different orders were picked up as this is the go to place for a fantastic Mexican dinner. The restroom was so/so but was as expected for a take out joint. This place is absolutely incredible! The food is authentic and made with love. It is the type of food where you have to sit in silence after! They have hands down the best tacos I have ever had. If I could worship the surtido tacos I honestly think I would. They are juicy, tender , perfectly seasoned - I could go on forever. I go here so often and almost every time my order is PERFECT. I have had maybe 2 or 3 mishaps ( if you can even call it that) and they have been so incredibly helpful and willing to fix any mistakes. If you order a burrito without rice and beans inside (which, let's be honest, is just filler you could get on the side anyways), it comes LOADED with your protein of choice. The chicken can be a little dry sometimes, but the steak is great. Be prepared to wait a while when you order - even if you schedule an online pickup - since it's usually packed. read more

The tortas here could compete with any torta in the entire world i am confident of that. Okay - now that's out of the way...my husband and I stop in here once or twice a month because we crave the fresh and delicious flavors from the tortas, tacos, burritos, and sauces at Victoria. The choriqueso torta is a dream. I think it may be my favorite sandwich of all time :-O The meat (mexican sausage) and melted cheese are delicious and abundant, but that's almost a given. It's the addition of the black bean spread, avocado, tomato, pickled onions, jalapenos, that each add an element of salt, fat, acid, heat. ITS THE BOMB. I had the Victoria torta last time, which pairs carnitas with ham. It, of course, was amazing as well. The salsa here is so fresh, and we always make sure to get a side with chips. We have been customers of Tanqueria Victoria since they opened and have always found them to have delicious food at very reasonable prices. Until recently. Our last order a few weeks ago was "just OK", but tonight's order was PITIFUL. Since it's Cinco de Mayo we decided to order early to avoid the rush. Not sure if that was a mistake or what, but this was easily THE WORST meal we've ever gotten there. We both decided to try the fish tacos and I could not have been more disappointed. The fish pieces were tiny, especially on one order, and the toppings were almost nonexistent - I got ONE radish slice on my entire order!!! One slice. We did not make special requests to leave anything off and what we got looked nothing like the pictures I've seen and was completely blah. Had I known this is what we were getting, we would not have wasted the money. The only good thing I can say is thank goodness the salad is still the same -- Love the pickled onions and the dressing! I know this has been a tough year+ for everyone so we're glad Tanqueria is still around. I hope you can get your quality back up to where it's always been so I can update my review to reflect that. read more

I am not sure what I'm missing here, multiple friends with good taste have recommended this place to me, I have visited twice. Both times I ordered burritos , the second time my partner came with and ordered a burrito as well. I have eaten many many burritos, only a few in Mexico but MANY in the mission (SF) and in LA. This was sooooooooo dry. All three of them. Extremely dry. All different types of burritos, all dry. The chipotle salsa was good. This place is so cute, I will try the tacos I guess, but i really don't get the rating. Will definitely update my review if my 3rd visit proves me wrong! read more

Wow wow wow, this is a go to place for me. We all know Mexican food on the North Shore of Boston isn't fabulous, but this place will give you some hope. The tacos are authentic, the tortas (kinda like a sandwich) are awesome and the burritos are great if you need to eat something on the go. I tried the enchiladas for the first time today and they were great, like everything else. I think I will still stick with my tacos for next time though because that green cilantro lime sauce is to die for. read more
