I have been to El Jaripeo in Little Chute several times and have never had the service we had today. It is our 55th wedding anniversary and wanted it to be special. First when they finally took our order, it was wrong. They only brought half of it. So we sat there waiting for the rest of the order to come. Meanwhile what they brought was getting cold. No one ever came back and asked if I wanted a refill on my lemonade. I finally flagged a waiter down to say we needed boxes for our leftovers. That took almost 25 minutes to get that. Then we waited more time to get our bill. We finally had to walk up to the cashier area and wait for someone to come to tell us what we owed. I thought it was going to be free with the kind of service we had!!! My husband insisted on leaving a tip and I was against that. The servers weren't very friendly this time either. Elizabeth is such a sweet server. She was fast to take our order, and brought our drinks and queso quickly. I had carnitas tacos, which are always wonderful. Tonight's photo is of my husband's Chipotle shrimp tacos. Not going to fib, I may have eaten a shrimp or two before I took the photo. These are not some cheap, tiny shrimp, they are large, lightly grilled deliciousness. As always, a delicious meal. read more

I phoned in a take out order. The person who answered the phone was polite, knowledgeable and made certain that he had my order, correctly. It only took 10 minutes or less and was scrumptious. Carnitas tacos and and order of shredded beef tacos. Everything was fresh and appealing. We'll definitely order from there again. Well.. let's start off and say the restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. Other than that the service was slow and the food was just meh. The saving grace was the queso dip, probably some of the best we've had. However the salsa tasted like marinara sauce and the tacos had no flavor. Outstanding service and food! Stopped here for the first time with my father. We both love Mexican food and this restaurant did not disappoint. My father had the Mahi mahi tacos, and I had chicken tacos with zucchini, squash onions, and peppers. Both dishes were delicious! Great homemade chips with salsa! Very nice plating. Thursdays they have a two for one margarita special! I love margaritas! I had a peach margarita, and a raspberry margarita, both blended. The peach margarita was very strong and really didn't taste very good, but the raspberry margarita was great. I definitely felt light headed after drinking both of them, lol! Been coming to this chain for about 10 years now, with this location being the newest and the flagship. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I've tried almost every item on the menu over the years. One thing that I never see on the menu at Mexican restaurants up here in northern Wisconsin is frijoles charros. For those of you who are unfamiliar of what they are, they're somewhat like bean soup but much-much tastier. Being one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area, I kept asking the owner, Antonio, if he were to ever consider adding the dish to the menu. Being the amazing restauranteur he is, Antonio was gracious and nice enough to prepare enough for me and four of my friends especially for us. Wow! I was floored and very thankful. How's that for customer satisfaction? If you haven't tried this place yet, please consider doing so. However, bear in mind that El Jaripeo offers authentic Mexican cuisine (comida Mexicana). So, if Tex-Mex is your thing, this place offers so much better. :) read more

Terrible service, very long wait for food, I'm outraged. I wasted so much of my time. Who will give me back my gradual time and nerves?

Very very poor service, won't be back, y'all had your chance. Where to begin . . . took almost 5 mins to be seated, after for a booth, got a table. Female server caneup to the table and said exactly this"what kind of drinks", c'mon man we're gonna spend money here! We ordered drinks she brought then back and we didn't see her for nearly 20 mins, the place wasn't busy on a Sunday mid afternoon, altho there were many signs for help because of short staffing. It just got worse, the food was ok, only reason I rated it a 2. We won't be back, y'all had your chance. read more

I have been to El Jaripeo many times. I always order the molecajete or the enchiladas. It used to be great! Now it is hit or miss....I ordered toe moleccajta the other night and the bowl was half full of liquid. Super unimpressed! read more

I'm on a quest to find real authentic Mexican food in Northeast Wisconsin. So far this is pretty close. The prices are average but the portions are huge. The special platter was two full plates of food that I couldn't finish after sharing the appetizer. The fruit smoothies were very good but also a little pricey at $4.99. The food was good but not super flavorful--it still was more of a Midwest Mexican restaurant experience than a true authentic experience you may have further south. Definitely worth a try but I'm going to keep looking before I crown this one. read more

Food quality is good, if service was better I would have given another 1.5 stars. Stopped on our way back from a camping trip. Shredded chicken chimichanga had very good flavor and was very generously topped, The Mrs l. Got a veggie Chimmy and was very pleased with it. No follow up from waiter asking for refills or how our food was, had to chase him down to get the bill. i have a new favorite restaurant! ive eaten here 3 times, gotten something different every time, and i have never been disappointed, and the food has never been bland. the tamales are moist and meaty. the burritos are big and flavorful. the chimichangas are crispy and cheesy. my mother ordered a seafood quesadilla and it was stuffed with seafood. the mexican rice is the best ive ever had. there's generous portions and the food is still amazing as leftovers. read more

There were six of us for dinner. My wife and I, my son and daughter-in-law and their two young teens. First young teen had mac n cheese (doesn't appreciate authentic Mexican food yet). Teen number two had the chicken quesadilla grande (scraped the plate clean). My wife had the Chiles pablanos (loved them). The daughter-in-law had the beef chimichangas (said they were yummy). My son had the burrito jalisco (delicious and big enough for two). Now to my entree, the carnitas fajitas . OMG! Fried pork tips, saute onions and bell peppers and tomatoes, with a generous serving of rice, beans, guacamole and sour cream. A very generous serving, it was, by far, one of the most delicious authentic Mexican meals I have ever had. I never had to use my knife, because the the pork was so lean and tender. Worst Mexican food I have ever had and I really like Mexican food. I ordered the Steak Cali (California). They put french fries on the bottom, then mushrooms, green peppers, onions and some other green veggie I did not recognize, Then the Ribeye steak goes on top with some sort of green liquid topping. I asked for the french fries on the side instead of underneath everything, which they did do. The green (slime) on the top looked terrible and tasted as bad as it looked. I scaped it all off. The vegetables were very burnt, and I mean very black and burnt. I took the steak off of that mess and cut it up and rolled it in the three totillas that came with. The steak was tough and loaded with gristle and very hard to chew. The wait staff did not show up very often and when she did, I told her about how bad it was. She said " would you like me to bring you another one?" I said with this meal tasting this bad, why would I want another one. She then said I will tell the kitchen staff. Ok why tell them when it is obviuos they do not care because of that dish they sent out to me. Why not tell a managaer or owner. Would have been nice if someone came over and at least acted like they cared, I contacted them through their website and told them of my experience twice. Totally ignored me. Don't care about the food or customers. And by the way I was sick the whole following day. Eat here at your own risk and if you go, know that they do not care. read more

Ordered corona beer& were brought corona premium, didn't like it, they should have offered us another choice, corona was on the menu. The burritto's were huge with not much meat & lots of veggies & onions. We had a biŕthday boy, just dropped the icecream...no song, no happy birthday greeting. We ordered for delivery, one of the things we ordered was a taco salad. It was ridiculous. Barely any lettuce, a tortilla in the bottom for a "shell" I guess, and some horrible chicken strips, sort of. If you can't make a taco salad for delivery, just say that, don't put this mess together and over charge for in. It was also super watery in the bottom so the tortilla was extra disgusting. The also sent no chips or salsa like you would get in the restaurant so that seemed like an additional rip off. The Valley has a TON of Mexican restaurants and now food trucks. We'll definitely choose something else next time. read more

Ordered through eat street and paid 7$ for an order of guacamole then paid and extra 2$ for chips and salsa. My guacamole size was just as small as the salsa!!! Also only got 1 tiny bag of chips. food also was not very tasty. Waste of 30$! read more

Good food and great margaritas. Would recommend coming in on Tuesdays for the two for Tuesday drinks. Never have had a bad experience here!
