Despite what another had said about the 'sad state of the shrubbery', the inside is spacious and well-maintained. The ambience of the interior absolutely makes up for the perhaps less-than-stellar exterior. Our server was professional and prompt. The chips were served with a bean dip and salsa (both quite good). Menu had plenty of options, most $12-24 on average (with some upwards of $40). We came during happy hour and the house margaritas were at par with expectations. I ordered the cherry pork tacos and my lady ordered the chimichangas (con pastor). WOW, those cherry pork tacos were divine. Portion sizes were fantastic. The $/plate was reasonable to me. Will absolutely be returning. Unlike what another said, appearances are often deceiving and the exterior certainly did not reflect the genius cooking on the inside.

I had the street tacos Mexican style with steak. The give your chip salsa and beans we also ordered queso.

Food and serves were great.. we mix the queso and the beans with our chips and it was amazing. I would highly recommend El Agave and will be back. My street tacos with steak were not skimpy and you had a great amount of lime to go with the Mexican style..

Expensive and food was just okay at best. Menu is huge, should probably focus on doing fewer dishes and doing them better.

My experience this time around was a little bit more of a let down hence why I had to take one star off. When I went few months ago, I had burnt coffee which I chalked it up as a one time error. But it happened again with this visit, so that told me they don't really pay much attention to their coffee yet they have a whole menu dedicated to coffee. I also made a reservation on a Sunday knowing it fills up quick and that it might be hard to get a table, however, it was an hour and half before they close which means they tend to slow down around that time. Also, when making a reservation, it'll ask you if you want bar, dining area or patio. I chose dining area. Yet they called me an half hour before to see if I wanted to sit at the bar, which I told them twice in person I do not want to, and as a result the hostess gave me the annoyed/judgmental look down when I wasn't looking. As someone who has owned a family restaurant business for 30 years, that's a big no-no in terms of customer service. It's just rude and unnecessary. Also, they kind of really try to get customers out by 2, which is when they close. By standard at most restaurants, they need an extra hour after closing for customers to take their time with their meals rather than rushing through it, especially if you will sit them 20 minutes before closing time. I felt rushed, and I don't like that feeling at a place I'm trying to enjoy my meal. Would I come back here? Absolutely yes because their food is really the best for brunch in the area and it's cleaner. It just shouldn't be an excuse with certain things like what I mentioned above. P.S. if chicken and waffles happens to be one of the specials, get it. It's by far the best dish I've ever tried there and also my top 3 chicken & waffles that I've tried anywhere. SO GOOD!

Much to his dismay, they were out of the one item he even decided to come here for. To his defense, when several dishes on the menu have that one item in it, it takes away a lot of food options. He had trouble picking his alternate dish since his 2nd choice was catfish....and the way they serve it here is whole which he doesn't want to work for his food. Not overly salted which many places can be. The perfect portion size that we didn't even need to take anything to go. Honestly impressed. Even more cool is they try to source ingredients locally when they can so it's helping our community. Very excited to have found this place and will be back for more! We did try some of their specialty drinks and will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu whenever we get the chance. We came back for a second visit fairly quickly because we kept thinking about the food! We got some breakfast bowls and added protein to it. Again, this place did not disappoint in the slightest! Happy eating!

It disappointed me because I generally dislike seafood in red sauce, but honestly, that wasn't their fault so I still gave them a high rating. Service was friendly and playful. Pretty efficient and seemed to like their job. It is a beautiful restaurant with a pretty amazing view, even if the water is at very sad low levels.
