Went back tonight and it was just basic and barely not awful. 1- we got 5 plain beef tacos, 3 small drinks and it was $85.00!!!! Absolutely insane given the quality of the meal. 2- food was just plain and bland. Margaritas were minimum alcohol in them. 3- only reason it is getting 2 stars is the waiter. He was kind and courteous and very helpful. Too bad the food, drinks and prices weren't as great as he was. So disappointed. read more

Worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in the back where there was little to no A/C airflow, and it was extremely humid.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We politely asked if we could move closer to the front where it was cooler, and were met with rude looks as if we were asking for something unreasonable. After being seated, our waitress repeatedly checked on every table except ours. We waited over 10 minutes without even being greeted or offered drinks, and I eventually had to flag down another server myself. Even then, the drinks took another several minutes and were brought out one at a time with long gaps in between. It then took another 10+ minutes just to place an order for queso and our meals. The food itself was mediocre at best, but the service was truly unacceptable -- easily a 0/10. I will never, and I mean never, come back here. Customers should not be treated this poorly. read more

I love my Mexican cuisine truly. This spot did not disappoint. Most of the time, on quick trips like this one, I keep it pretty simple. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area is nice and spacious. This is my 2nd review and it's still 5 stars for me. 1) you absolutely must try the tableside fresh guacamole. 2) I tried their wings today and had the Tequila Lemon Lime Pepper flavor and the Chile rub. 10 pieces were $17 Both were good but if you are a fan of lemon pepper, these are decades better. 3) They have a wide selection of margaritas and tequila. I used to hate tequila, but I guess my taste buds have changed. Today I had a beautiful pink "Dahlia Margarita " $9, and their Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita $10. The birria tacos were a no go for me - just a bunch of fat in the bottom of the taco - gross. A pile of raw onions, and overwhelming cilantro. It was also overpriced, not very flavorful and by far the worst I've had. I gave 1 star because the barbecue chimichanga was good in a previous order. They charge a fee for to go orders, so I guess it's best to sit in and then ask for a to-go box when the food comes. I don't know. It didn't work for me today. read more

The guacamole was pretty good and the fajitas were hot and sizzling. We did find some plastic in the cheeses dip from the cheese they use to make it. A very solid Mexican experience. It's not much different from your basic Monterrey, San Jose, or Moctezuma's restaurant, but good nonetheless. The restaurant was very clean and the service was pretty good. The only downside is that they gave me what I call a "hand-sanitizer margarita," or, a margarita that's made way too strong. I'd definitely come back here, but probably wouldn't get the margarita next time. read more

WWe went to our favorite restaurant for my birthday meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We like El Jimador's food a lot and the way the restaurant is decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have an extensive menu, including a large vegetarian section. I ordered number 11, (although seafood is not a plant/vegetable!). They brought me the first part of the meal, but not the other three items. I showed the manager what I ordered and he said: "Oh, we don't include that anymore". I said it's written on your menu. They would not bring the fourth item, grilled vegetables, which was why I ordered that dish. I pointed out to him that would cost him only $3 or $4 to honor what his menu offered. He was adamant that the menu had a mistake in it, which I pointed out is not my fault. I just want what I ordered off the menu. He would not back down, or compensate us, just politely apologized and said the menus were wrong. So I never did get my whole meal. We are disappointed. read more

A group of 10 of us came on a Saturday night and was sat right away. We were nervous that there would have been a wait but there was not. We were greeted right away and drinks were brought. There was a misunderstanding with the back with two of the drinks at the table. They were supposed to be on the rocks but came out frozen. The server went back and fixed it for the girls at the table. When it came to ordering everything came out fast to say it was a group of us that went out. I enjoyed my steak meal that I got. It came with a corn salad but it was not the best. It tasted like corn with Mayo and cheese on top. I was not a fan of it but the steak was good. I had enough to take home for the next day. When it came down to the checks there was a mishap where they brought out an extra drink and charged the wrong person for it. The girl was able to get the drink taken off since she did not order it or drink out of it. This is gonna be a full food review of this place. From chips, drinks, and food. I will be giving my full honest review of this food. Let's start with the chips, the staple of a good Mexican restaurant. I give the chips a 4/10. No salt on the chips and they are on the thicker side. Once you add your own salt it goes up to a 6/10. The salsa. It was a hit for me. I love some cilantro in my salsa. Gives it that fresh taste that I love. I give it a 7.5/10. The bowls for the salsa are a bit small. I love big cups of this stuff. I could've drank it. Drinks. The waters were fresh and clean tasting which is always nice. The margaritas we had were the skinny margs. Very refreshing drink. Can tell they took their time to make it. Not too strong though so if you're hoping to get lit, I'd request an extra shot. Margs 7/10 The food. Carnitas with tortillas on the side was awesome. The pork was a little under seasoned in my opinion but the onions had all of the flavor for me. The beans were perfect and the tortillas were warmed for us as well. The bathroom. It was clean and it was a single bathroom with a diaper changing station. 6.5/10 Customer service. Very friendly staff and met all of our needs. read more

Not the best place for big parties, seating is bulky and awkward. Food was excellent tho! I had Los Alambres...yummmmmy!!! Plentiful portions. The bathroom was exceptionally clean. The cheese steak burrito description is a burrito COVERED in cheese dip. This extremely dry burrito arrives and I immediately deny it as it is not the meal I ordered. The waiter takes the plate away and returns moments later with the same dish stating the queso is inside. The burrito was fine. Cheese dip and margarita 10/10. read more

My friend and I sat at the bar. I ordered a grande skinny margarita. Per the menu, it is $14 and made with Casa Noble tequila. I watched him make the drink with 1800 silver - a substantially subpar tequila but did not discount the price. The shots were $13 each...an entire bottle (750 mls) retails for $34...this place is a ripoff! I don't usually write reviews but i had such a great experience here tonight that i am writing this in hopes that a manager will see it. I have certain dietary restrictions, which can make my orders quite difficult. I ordered the Mexican soup without rice and a bowl with just chicken, lettuce, cheese and sour cream and our server was more than accommodating. The food was delicious and I'll be back within a week. Bleh! Worst experience ever!! Completely messed up mine and my fiancé's orders. My fiancé is allergic to tomatoes and they didn't take the tomatoes off or offered to remake the dish. Still had to pay for it even being messed up. Service was terrible to say the least. Food was served on plates that were so hot my fiancé's hand literally was burned. No warning about hot plates were given. Lettuce was added to my quesadillas which we're just supposed to be chicken and cheese so I really don't know where the lettuce came from. It was gross. We love all the El Jimador locations and were super excited to have one open in our neck of the woods. The restaurant itself is beautiful on the inside. We sat outdoors and the tables were spaced out with umbrellas and also very comfortable. The food was stellar and authentic as you'd expect from El Jimador. The stand out item was the chorizo queso, oh my goodness. Their margarita list is very creative and the drink selection is solid. Staff was extremely friendly and you could tell they are taking COVID protocols seriously. Looking forward to this becoming a regular spot. read more
