    Dry rub wings

We wound up settling for this restaurant today but were not totally disappointed to say the least. The place was packed at lunchtime and we received awesome and prompt service. Food quality was very good and we both agree that we would try this restaurant again another time.. My wife had chicken wings and fried mushrooms and I enjoyed a chili cheeseburger. The only thing preventing a perfect score were the mushrooms which were just a bit overcooked. We would visit another time...

I called in to place a pick-up order for lunch. That process wasn't bad at all. Their customer service was decent. I heard great things about The Kingsman, so I was excited to finally have a chance to try it out. The taste and quality of the food were substandard. I was disappointed given the money I spent and the mediocre food I received. The mozzarella sticks were cold and lacked cheese pull. The philly cheese steak was okay. It was a good size. The fries were cold and old. They tasted terrible. It's kind of sad that I didn't have the best experience. I may give them another chance and just emphasize the request for warm or hot food.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the outside. It's in a strip mall and the outside is very unassuming. But boy do they bring the flavor!! We started with the pretzels and beer cheese. The pretzels were salty and buttery. The beer cheese was delicious. I had the rib-eye pimento cheese burger. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had! It was juicy and the homemade pimento cheese was spicy cheesy goodness! My son had the Salisbury steak special with collards and Mac and cheese. Disappointed in the mac and cheese but the collards were delicious! Salisbury steak was good. You can tell this is a little gem that packs in the regulars.

We always have a good experience at Kingsman. This time I got the liver and onions which was delicious. That buttery toast is everything!! Our waitress was super sweet & helpful. This is a place that my family and I come to often, can't wait to go back!

Me and my husband went out for our Anniversary dinner, unfortunately had a terrible experience. Our server, Kayla, seemed to not be aware she had a table through our whole service. We waited long times in between drinks and ordering, as well as on appetizers. When asking for refills, we were met with a hand wave and nod but nothing was brought. I ended up packing my salmon up to go. And was met at home with a hot outside, but undercooked and cold salmon. Serviced combined with undercooked salmon, we will not be making this our next date night, hopefully others receive a better experience than we did.

Six of us went here for lunch today. We were able to find a table for six in the back room at 11:30, so it was good timing. The waitress took our orders fairly promptly and brought back all of our drinks, balancing all six glasses of tea and soda with her arms. Great job! We ordered two Kingsman Throne burgers, three Patty Melt Specials $9.99, and a sirloin sandwich. Sides were onion rings and one green bean. The Patty Melts were "Double Patty Melt (Special on Tuesday)" and were excellent. I didn't use the thousand Island dressing that came with them, but really enjoyed the Patty Melt and the onion rings. Every single one of us thought the food was excellent. Service was great. This was the first time there for everyone but me, but we all enjoyed it greatly. I know that first time I stopped in here was on a Friday night and the "Seat yourself" sign at the front sort of surprised me. I doubt if I'd try to get in on a Friday night, but lunch seemed to be fine - at least for today.

The entrees are lined up waiting to be topped off and served up hot.

I would probably go again but as with most places right now, the food wasn't exactly worth that steep of a price.

Our first experience was outstanding and we will return...OFTEN! For starters, our server was a professional. She is working on her 3rd level certification as a sommelier so it was truly a pleasure talking wine and food with her. Her recommendations were spot on all night long. Next, the menu is the most creative in Columbia. This restaurant is more Charleston-like or big city like with its menu options. Our biggest challenge of the night was deciding what to order. My wife ordered the Gnudi with brisket and is still talking about it. I rolled the dice and decided to try the squid ink pasta with lobster as a test, and I can honestly say they got an A++. I've eaten squid ink pasta in some of the best restaurants in New York, Boston and other major cities, and this was the BEST I have ever eaten. I almost didn't write this review because I selfishly don't want to have to fight for a reservation when this place gets busier, but I DO want it to flourish. Columbia needs more restaurants like City Grit. My only suggestion for them is to offer Valet parking because I had to park so far away that I was sweating by the time I walked all the way back to the restaurant after dropping off my wife.Otherwise, this is a fantastic dinner experience!!!

The waiter was so attentive and kind. The ambiance is beautiful.. The restaurant was kind of hot and the wine I chose was hot as well. They were able to chill I quickly but I ended up getting a different wine. I ordered the crab farro, the lobster eel pasta, whipped feta, baked chicken, and wine. I don't think this is a bad restaurant. Maybe I should have tried brunch vs dinner. The smoked chicken was some of the best chicken I have ever had. Tender, Smokey, and bursting with flavor. I did not enjoy the crab farro, I believe it was more grain than crab. The whipped feta was a little tangy for my taste. I am willing to try this restaurant again. Maybe brunch as that was most of the photos I saw.

Service was good and very friendly, portion sizes were extremely generous, and well priced. That said, the food wasn't great. Very greasy all around. My frittata had a ton of mozzarella cheese which added no flavor but a ton of calories, one bite of the grit cake and it had very little taste but a lot of fat in it. I had brunch here once before a few years ago and I remember there being some healthier options on the menu and I don't remember it being this greasy. J.Ja

The drinks were blended very well and used fresh lime juice, which was nice. The appetizers -- the kimchi fries and the boneless wings were pretty standard. The fries were crunchy, but we felt like there was more cheese than there was kimchi and sauce, so we've had better kimchi fries elsewhere. The cheese was very gooey though. The boneless wings weren't as crunchy as they could have been, especially coming out in a stone dish, but the garlic soy sauce was still pretty good. Our mains were really good -- the japchae, which I ordered with fried tofu, had the right texture and flavor, and was delicious yet spicy. The tofu was a little bland though. My partner enjoyed the squid and pork belly dish and said that the sauce was similar to the japchae sauce. The portions were pretty normal and not too big, so we had a few leftovers but not too many. The prices were also pretty reasonable as well. Overall we were really happy with our food here and would come back if we ever visited again.

We ended up stopping at The Grand around 9/9:30pm on a Saturday. Upon entering the hostess informed us they were currently only serving the late night menu. We said no problem and elected to grab seats at the bar. There were several empty tables and a few empty seats @ the bar. However, the only two seats together at the bar needed to be cleared from the last patrons that were seated. We stood there for over 20 mins while Jacob continued to walk by never acknowledging us or the fact that we couldn't sit. When he finally cleared the dishes he just walked away, never cleaning the area. When he returned he still never greeted us or apologized for the wait, the mess... nothing. Jacob: What are you having? Me: Well hello... Jacob: Yea... what do you want? Me: Wow... ok. For starters can you please whip off the bar so we can properly have a seat. There is still food residue here from the last customers. ** we get a visible huff** He wipes down the bar and we proceed to order drinks, while he never really speak any more it's all via motions and body language. Amongst ourselves we check in with one another to confirm that we both were feeling very unwelcome. Instantly we decide that we will not be ordering anything additional and will be leaving after this one drink. Which is just as well because Jacob never returns. Someone , whom I can only assume was of a mangement status, asked if Jacob was helpful and we promptly and simultaneously said no and that we would like or bill. She shook her head in utter disbelief and disgust but then she also disappeared. Just so happened that Diamond, whom was on the other side of the bar happen to walk pass. She stopped and asked if we were ok after witnessing our frustration. We explained that we wanted the check and why we were leaving. She was super apologetic and closed out our tab. Her energy literal turned the experience around and if she would have came to our rescue sooner we would have considered staying. Thank you Diamond. Just A Note: Unfortunately, bad first impression because The Grand seems like it may offer a good time with the bowling lanes in the back.
