We were concerned about this place being authentic but I assure you it was. Our waitress spoke very little English and couldn't tell us the soda options which I found endearing. The actual inside of this place is well lit and quite at lunch time. I can see this place being a hot spot for drinks since there are margarita flight options. I had a Bueno salad add chicken and it was great. So flavorful I didn't need dressing which is good because it doesn't come with any. The tortilla strips and the tortilla chips with the salsa were very fresh and warm. I feel like tortilla chips at a Mexican restaurant is so important and vital to the overall experience of the food you get. My bestie got the pork carnitas and he loved it. He even ate his leftovers cold, and it was delicious according to him. The tortillas came warm, however they did bring him flour tortillas after asking for corn but again the waitress doesn't speak very much. The salsa had a mild kick, and a heavy tomato based flavor. The queso cheese was pretty basic. The steak quesadilla was huge. They stuffed it with meat and a good amount of cheese. Came with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream and cheese. Like a little salad. I wish the steak had a little bit more seasoning and was cooked not as long as it did. It was good though. My wife and I visited Que Bueno after breaking our 2 month keto journey lol... and it was mostly worth it. The chips and queso are good, but the guacamole dip is where it's at (there's 2 on the menu the dip which is what we had, and the pricier homemade guac). For entrees I had the chicken chimichanga, which was covered in queso and pretty tasty... but I will say it was a bit dry, but pouring some salsa on top helped. My wife had the enchiladas verdes - which is both of our favorite Mexican dish to order. Unfortunately, it was very very dry and definitely needed some help - maybe some sour cream, salsa or anything really. Finally got a chance to come here and we had a great experience. A friend recommended this place and they were right on the money. Our go-to starter is the choriqueso mixed with the salsa. I didn't even get a chance to taste the food because I waited for 20 mins standing there and never was helped or served. after waiting for ten mins, saw a server , went to her and she put her finger up because she was making personal phone calls . so I was nice enough to wait another 10 mins and still no help or server. for it to be a very small place, and only four people and two kids to be in there, I didn't understand. so off of the customer service along I wouldn't recommend them and truly believe they need to be put out of the location and let someone else benefit from it that will give good customer service to new customers. read more

Exactly one week after that, we were charged the exact same amount again on our debit card number, but we weren't even there that day. This was my first time trying Que Bueno. I went during lunch to try some of their lunch specials. I was greeted at the door by smiling faces & a clean restaurant. I was given my food quickly. I tried the beef chimichanga (7/10). I enjoyed the cheese sauce but the beef was a bit dry. The rice was amazing (9/10) & the refried beans were a bit salty but good for the most part (8/10). The decoration is classy and the background music was not so loud as to be distracting, but not so low it was barely audible. I got a side of queso dip to go with the complimentary chips and salsa. The Family Foodies visited Que Bueno for a late lunch on 9/7/24. If you are craving well seasoned and flavorful Mexican food, this is the place. This is a hidden gem in an unassuming storefront beside Publix. The place is very clean and the music was awesome. I was dancing in my seat. We tried the mixed fajita quesadilla with rice, a chicken soft taco, a chicken enchilada, a cheese enchilada, and a beef hard taco. The fajita meat with onions and peppers was the best we have had around this area and so was the beef hard taco. Because of the lateness of our meal, we had the place to ourselves along with our waiter's undivided attention. The food was spectacular and when we are craving Mexican again, we are making the drive to Que! Bueno while skipping all the other so-so Mexican places on the way. Went to the Irmo location tonight for dinner. Different staff than what we usually see. Hostess sat us in a requested booth. Server came to ask about drinks. Asked if pitcher of Margaritas was on happy hour? She stated it was not 4pm yet when happy hour starts. It was 3:50pm. I said we would wait. She came back at 4pm and said oh it's the weekend we don't have happy hour. I said we always come on Friday night for happy hour. I told her I wanted the pitcher of margaritas for 34.99 on the menu. She stated no they are $38.99. I showed her the menu and pointed out the one I wanted. She said no. I said we are leaving! she said does that mean you don't want the cheese dip? I can tell you we will never go back or recommend this place. I have been in their loyalty club also. Terrible service and the food has always been hit or miss! I want to start this off by saying that we had Mexican food the night before and still came to this place to try for the first time because of the pictures of the food and the reviews. Now on with my review. The food was cooked to perfection, very fresh and fantastically seasoned!! The pico was so fresh that it seemed like they make it to order!! The service was impeccable as everyone that worked there were like worker bees. Even the owner was working behind the bar, taking orders to patrons and cleaning tables. This is a review for the new Que Bueno in Lexington. We ordered the house Margarita and a Salty Paloma with ChoriQueso dip appetizer. They offer complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is fresh homemade with chunks of onion and peppers. Both drinks were great (the Paloma was as good as any in Columbia) and the dip was good. I ordered the Birria with rice--one of the best in Columbia. My wife ordered a Beef Burrito and Refried Beans. She loved it. There is a beautiful patio and parking in the rear. Que Bueno moved into the old Comfort Scratch Kitchen location which is generally hard to find but I recommend putting in the effort to get here. The atmosphere was bright, happy and relaxing. The service was spot on with tons of attentiveness even mid-afternoon. We spoke to the owners and they seem to be very nice people. We ordered the Quesabirria and Que Bueno Chicken. The quesa birrias were basically birrias tacos with an amazing sauce and the owner brought out a special hot sauce for added flavor. The Que Bueno chicken was amazingly tender and flavorful. The best item was the Diablo margarita made with top shelf habanero tequila. We look forward to our next visit hopefully with all of our friends. read more

Once we were seated and offered the menu, the pickings were few and far between. The quesadillas were very thin and short on the cheese while the vegetarian burritos really had no taste to them. The staff was friendly and seated us quickly - food was good - I had steak fajitas and my husband had the burrito and side taco. Plenty of food. The queso had good flavor, still a little runnier than we're used to. Guacamole was good. We noticed a manager was keeping tabs on the staff - ensured prompt service!
