I've always been a fan, but this was my first time visiting this location. I went with my neighbor and she happens to be a regular lol. Our service was amazing, they continuously checked on us and offered recommendations based on my questions. Our food arrived within 10-12 minutes and was nice and hot. It was so good, I almost didn't have enough left for my late night snack. My daiquiri was perfect and hot the spot. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants! I usually get the fajitas and they come out HOT! Parking is right out front and can fill up quickly so I usually take advantage of their happy hour deals. I ordered burritos to go. When you takeout is ready in 10 minutes that's a problem. Sure enough bland soggy burritos. Chicken was in large chunks, with A covering of sauce. Ground beef was tasteless. I am not a spicy food fan but I like food that has some taste. I had been once when they first opened and it was barely palatable. This time was worse. Also, it was very expensive. When I first moved to Cincinnati this was one of the first Spanish restaurants I have tried and has remained a favorite over the years it's my "go to" Spanish place I absolutely love their quesadillas, the cheese they use is soooo good Their chips and queso are always a must have My favorite food items to get range depending on what I'm craving but you can't go wrong with their chimichangas And fajitas I always get the pollo chipotle which is chicken with shrimp in a queso / chipotle sauce The have a pretty big menu and all the food is delicious read more

On Tuesday's, this restaurant advertises $2 street tacos on a sign in front of the restaurant as you enter. The employees will do everything they can to not honor that deal. One time they claimed I had to order hard shell tortillas to get that price. Having been there around 5 times, they brought out the taco platter with rice and beans to upsell it twice. Not sure if all the locations operate this way, but avoid this location. I tried tipping $4 and $5 on a $6 dollar tab, it didnt change the outcome. read more

Order delivery. Carne Asada tacos and guacamole dip. The carne asada and rice in beens were so over seasoned with salt they were inedible. All went in to the trash. I made a meal of the guac and the 8 chips that came with it. I wish these place would learn to do a few things well instead of trying to do so many items extremely poorly. Visited this location for the first time after loving the Redbank one.. absolutely amazing! First thing I noticed was the beautiful dining area with such a great atmosphere. My fiancé and I received our chips and salsa right after sitting down (I was super hungry so I was very happy ) our server got our drinks asap as well, I got a house marg and he got a Pepsi. Our server, wish I knew his name, had slicked back hair and so attentive. I got a pollo poblano salad with the sauces on the side.. my fiancé got a pick 2 combo with the chimichanga and quesadilla. He loved the rice and beans, along with the cheese sauce for my salad. I 100% recommend visiting this place, not one bad part of my night .. thank you El Jinete!! read more

I've ordered El Jinete a few times through DoorDash, the first time routed to the Montgomery Road location and the next two to this location. With the Montgomery location, everything came out great. This location, not so much. Every time I got the chicken fajitas there was always a lot of chicken, which is great, but from this location, oddly, there were just a few onion strips. (I'd also requested no peppers, so I basically just had chicken with a little tomato.) Both times I went ahead and sautéed an onion so I'd have enough. My last meal, all the chicken/onion came with a ton of black burnt grill bits I had to pick off as they gave everything a burnt, bitter taste. I'm hoping if I order next time I can request the other location. read more

Nice place, decent service, poor food. Our visit to the Deer Park location wasn't great. Drinks were okay. Happy hour prices were good. Then the food came. Avoid ordering this location through door dash at all costs. The quality is abysmal, which hurts to post as someone who loves the Montgomery location. Ordered a chicken quesadilla. None of the fixings (lettuce, tomato, guacamole, sour crème) were included and it was soggy. Also ordered beef hard tacos. So soggy you couldn't even pick them up without them falling apart. Would never order from here again. Had I not previously tasted the original Montgomery location on multiple occasions this would be on the list of worst takeout I've ever had. read more

This neighborhood location has a great thing going in Deer Park/Silverton. We ventured to the upstairs top floor dining space as we have tried main floor and patio seating in the past. I work nearby and didn't realize this place was having their grand opening until I stepped outside and smelled the most irresistibly delicious aroma caught in the Deer Park air. Am I excited to have a Mexican restaurant across the street? Sure. Was the food as good as it smelled, absolutely. I ordered the quesadilla Tropicana, and yes, I will have that again. This is a great place to eat. The food is always fresh, service is always great. I have had a baby shower here in their private room, I have had meals catered at work and I come here at least once a week for lunch or dinner; I can tell you over the years each meal had consistent taste and flavor. El Jinete doesn't look like much, but this place packs the Mexican punch your tastebuds need. The tacos were my favorite. They are incredibly simple, which is what I love. Super great and flavor meat with cilantro, lime, onion, done. The quesadilla was on the good side of okay. Not even close to enough cheese. Excellent rice and beans. The worst thing on the plates was that guacamole. It is an insult to Mexican food everywhere. Runny and looks like they put it in a blender. Thank goodness I had my own avocados. We had the pleasure of eating at El Jinete for the first time, tonight. This was flat-out GOOD food. I had the shrimp enchilada and my wife had the steak Fajita. Both were excellent and truly fresh, homemade meals. I told the waiter they "got me" with the red habanero pepper sauce. He said it was all heat and no flavor and asked if would I like to try this stuff they make in the kitchen. This was wonderful, a deep, flavorful hot sauce with a kick, but mostly - fresh flavor. Ugh! Where do I even begin... we sat down right away ordered drinks and we're given 1 salsa and a basket of chips for 3. No worries should tied us over till we can order. We then waited 45 minutes to order our food and the only reason we got to order then was because I spoke up and asked if we could order. The server verbatim said to me no not yet when I asked if we could please order. They weren't very busy at all. I could then see that I had irritated the server and he was not happy with us.This place is really close to my house and I wanted to love it so I tried to ignore his nasty attitude and dirty looks. I thought maybe if I continue to just be really nice that she would soften up. I thanked him multiple times and smiled as politely as I could. I ordered the chicken chimichangas with beans. I took one bite of my food and I got a big huge bone jammed into my tooth! I decided to continue to try to eat because I was starving second bite another big bone. My friend had something hard and inedible in her food as well. Not sure what it was but we put all into a napkin to try and let our server know. She ate her food with no other issues though. We did not get checked on nor offered refills for drinks I never once had the opportunity to tell the server about the bones in our food until the end of our meal he asked me if I wanted a box and I told him no I would not be eating it or taking it home with me as it had bones throughout the first chimichanga and I was afraid to bite into any more. He then proceeded to act like he didn't understand what I was saying. We sat for another 40 minutes with no drinks the table had been mostly cleared and we had no check to be able to leave. I finally went up to the cash register and told the man I had no check but we needed to go. I also tried to tell him about the bone in my food he slightly laughed at me and rolled his eyes. I paid for food that I could not even eat! Just based on the way I was treated about it alone makes me say I would never eat here again! Food was gross and the service was horrible. read more

How do I start. Well, the first sign that something was seriously wrong was that the waitress brought out the worst margaritas ever and then came back later to say that there was no tequila in them. Isnt that like a given to have tequila in a margariate? My wife and i split the cheese and pork enchildas. We asked that they be covered in a red enchillada sauce - pretty simple request and obvious. It came out with some type of Italian tomato chunk sauce. And the last time that i checked enchildas should be wrapped in either a corn or flour torilla. We basically got a wedge of melted cheese with some fatty carnitas and covered in this chunky tomato sauce. I would highly recommend to avoid this place and look for so many better Mexican based restaurants. read more

We found the food here to be quite average as was the service. But the main complaint stems from questioning members of our group later that evening. Dishes which stated to come with chimichurri sauce had been served with a cheese sauce instead. And when the restaurant was contacted on their web site about this discrepancy, we were ignored.
