My friends and I were on the second night of our 4 night stay in Barcelona and I was searching for that whole-in-the-wall, family cooked meal. I was specifically looking for Barcelona's best Fabada and I can tell you, I was not disappointed. We had yet to get accustomed to the time in Spain and were early for dinner nearly every night, so we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. I dont know what the owners name was (I can only assume she was the owner by the way she treated us) but I honestly felt I was sitting in the dining room of a long lost grandmother. Her thick Spanish accent was warming, and we allowed her to order for us. She recommended el Pastel de Cabracho and without knowing what it was, we agreed and were not disappointed. She even went ahead and showed us how to prepare the fish dip on our breads! Seriously, she was the sweetest! We also had the Chorizo a la Sidra which was great, as well as the Croquetas Cabrales and of course the Fabada Asturiana. We also shared a bottle of wine and sat for a few hours, not really minding the fact that we were alone in this restaurant. I wish this place had more reviews because it was fantastic! read more
