I tried their rich and flavorful Caldo de Camaron soup! o___o And enjoyed the hell out of it !

This evening, my Grandfather treated my Aunt and I to one of his favorite Mexican Food restaurants in town, and I couldn't believe how good it was! o___o I used to live in Lake Havasu City, AZ, and There, you have access to incredible, authentic Mexican food of many varieties. I am impressed with El Maguey and their rich and flavorful Caldo de Camaron soup! ^__^ I look forward to trying more of their menu's goodies in the future. And MAN their in-house chips and salsa is bomb! I sorta over ate on those too and still feel it hehe.. We opted carry-out so he could be present for tonight's football game! I hope the team he and my Aunt are root'n for wins!

#5. 1 Beef & 1 Cheese Enchilada
Joe R.

We have visited this location several times and always have had a good meal. The fajitas are good, and today, I had the #5- Beef and Cheese Enchiladas with refried beans and rice. No complaints and everything was hot and tasty. The dining room is big with a couple of smaller sections for dining. Our server took good care of our table and the food came out hot and fresh. Take your check and pay at the cash register. There is plenty of free parking just outside in the parking lot.

I was shocked when I saw the average rating of this place was a 2.5 out of 5. I think this is one of the best Mexican places in the area. This is a fairly priced places where the quality of food lines up. They definitely have some of the fastest service, that's for sure! I also, don't think I have ever had a bad meal from here! The range of food on the menu is great and leaves lots of room for choosing different items each times.

Large cheese dip

This place is just okay for Mexican. Definitely nothing to write home about. The service was pretty slow and the ground beef lacked seasoning. I noticed to add on avocado slices the charge was $4.50 - eek. My husband didn't check the menu first and ordered a large cheese dip which was $13.50 - eek again.

Love it but still not as good as el rancheros on 7hyw blue springs. Would be close if they added some more tequila in the margs!

I love this place. The reviews here are people who suck. Go check other reviews if you're unsure.

American Mexican food. It's not authentic, but is good comfort food in large portions. The service has always been great for us.

I was in from out of town and looking for a good Mexican restaurant. This is close to the hospital…read moreso I ordered food to go. I ordered birria soup, tamales, and fajitas. The order was ready on time and the service was super friendly and efficient! The restaurant was very clean and busy when I went in. I'm from Texas and I definitely love our Tex Mex better but the food here was really tasty and they gave really big portions. They also included salsa, chips and plenty of napkins and utensils. I would definitely go back and try other things on the menu!

My daughter in law decided to treat me to dinner and since we kept seeing this restaurant pop up on our community awareness page with great reviews, we decided to try it. When I tell you we wanted to leave after we got the chips and salsa, it's bad. Nothing on the menu looked good, but we decided to stay and try the food even though the salsa wasn't giving us "this is going to be good" vibes. We ordered chicken nachos, tamales, fajitas, and my granddaughter just wanted meat and rice, so they brought a picadillo style hamburger meat. Let's get into this salsa. It literally tasted like watered down tomato sauce with a couple chinos of onion and cilantro in it. The chips were good, but definitely deserved a better salsa. My daughter in law said it tasted like watered down ketchup. Then the nachos came out. These nachos, man, they needed help, so much help. The chicken was dry, there was no cheese on the nachos, and the toppings were located in just the middle of the nachos, they weren't evenly distributed. I couldn't even pour salsa on them to help them because well the salsa was terrible. Main dishes came out. Food was hot, I'll give them that. The fajitas didn't have your signature sizzling plate which kind of killed the vibe. The meat was tender, I'll give them that, but it had no flavor, it was fatty, and the ratio of meat to vegetables was 1 to 2. We were given 4 tortillas and it was literally enough for 2 full tacos because they were so thin, you had to use 2 tortillas per taco. It came with the standard sides: rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The rice was hard and bland, like it was undercooked and only tomato sauce was used to "color" the rice. The beans honestly didn't even taste like pinto beans, they just tasted like nothing. My granddaughter's plate came out, they made sure it was a cold plate so she didn't burn herself. The meat was greasy and tasted like cat food smells, if that makes sense. Her rice was hard as well. She didn't eat hardly any of it. The tamales were probably the best thing at the restaurant other than the sweet tea. I was a little disappointed because we didn't get the full tamale experience by being able to unwrap them. They were pork tamales and definitely had good flavor. The service was decent, they came back and checked on us several times. All in all, we definitely won't be back.

The waitress was friendly and kind, efficient and had suggestions ready when I wasn't sure what kind of meat I wanted on my torta. She recommended asada and I was super happy to choose that. I love recommendations from staff, as I am zero percent picky and really want what they deem the "best" they offer. Our meals were hot, tasty and my girls LOVED the rice and beans. If we're hungry in the area, we'll come back for sure. Apparently they're rebranding, so stop in and give them a try if you haven't in a while! To be honest, my torta was incredible. Their chips and salsa is probably the best we've had, we could defintely tell it's made in house with fresh ingredients. Some places have salsa that's way too sweet, but this salsa was perfect and the chips were fresh, not stale. I ordered the Steak Trio tacos with corn tortillas and asked for extra limes. Loved it! The rice and beans were also excellent, which is a nice change because sometimes they can be forgettable other places. My husband ordered the Steak Jalisco (steak and shrimp) and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Service was great! Our server was a very nice lady who did a good job answering my question (did the steak trio come with cilantro/onions - yes it did) and providing quick service. She was attentive and friendly. Ambiance was quiet (we were the first customers of the day shortly after 11:00am on a weekday) but I'm sure they get busier as the day goes on. Already looking forward to our next visit. We will defintely be back!
