It has great service, and amazing food. I enjoyed the ambiance as well they didn't over do it at all. The prices are also cheap (considering how AMAZING the food is). My husband has eaten here before. He said the food was ok. Several people I have spoken to.. Said the food was good. I had never been to this restaurant before. I ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup, Vegetable Fajitas. When I saw the soup, I laughed and told Christian ( our waiter) the bowl is as big as a boat. The Fajitas came out sizzling, in the cast iron fajita pan. The topping were the right portions and tasted fresh. The Fajita vegetables had good flavor, for me the chef over cooked them. The vegetables were brown, no color or even a slight crunch. When I dipped into the vegetables with my fork, I could see quite a bit of oil on the bottom . I ordered an an unsweetened tea, I was brought a sweet tea. I am diabetic on insulin. No problem sometimes mistakes are made. Christian brought back my second Glass of unsweetened Tea. I stirred it with my straw, I saw something in the bottom, I pulled it up with my straw... it was the paper covering for someone's straw. It wasn't mine, or my husbands. I had our papers laying out so the waiter could see , it wasn't our paper. I wasn't going to get another glass of tea, decided I would. I was praying it was emptied and I received a new glass of tea. Christian was kind enough to let us know he was leaving for his break. Roxanna took over for him. Roxanna brought our bill to us. I told her compliments to the chef. The chef did not have anything to do with the Ice Tea. The overlooked vegetables had a good flavor. I thought I would go back sometime. The truth is, the more I thought about it, I am not sure. If I do, I will try the Taco salad. The place was clean, I do believe the floors need to deep cleaned. Especially the corners. When dirt is swept it seems the corners were forgotten. I read the reviews ahead of time. Some were negative. We cannot agree with these reviews. We went fairly early on a Sunday evening with 4 in our party. We found the service excellent... Fast, friendly, accurate. They provided large quantities of chips and salsa, both excellent. We ordered the #2 vegetarian (Chili Releno, burrito, enchilada) and a side beef taco. It was fabulous. My wife ordered the Frittata. Oh, it was very good. The couple with us ordered a Shrimp and lime Tostada. They loved it. Great food. Excellent service. Reasonable prices. What's not to like? I went here for my boyfriends grandmother's birthday with his family. This was a party of 8. I asked for my check to be separate because I was the only non-family member attending (you will see why I mention this later). The waiter was more than happy to do that for me. The service was very polite, courtesy, sincere, and accommodating. The food was great. It was very flavorful and came out in a timely matter. We got there at about 4 and were finish by about 5 o'clock which was perfect for me since I had to be to work right after we got done eating dinner there. The only thing I would say rubbed me the wrong way was the check. I looked through reviews on here and saw no mention of it which was surprising. They automatically give themselves a 18% tip which I understand because it's a small business and honestly with the food and service I think that's fair since they were very good with food, time, and service. I noticed it in my receipt so I didn't additionally tip since they already tipped themselves. My boyfriends parents who paid for seven people did not notice this occurrence. So not only did they tip themselves but they also got a 35 dollar cash tip and a tip charged to the card that his mother added on at the end of the receipt. Which good bad or indifferent you can say is her fault for not reading through her receipt throughly to notice the automatically charged tip. However, when the person charging doesn't mention it until after a card transaction I find that unfair to the consumer. So they made out with a tip of about 40-50% of what their bill was. Which would be fine if that was what his mother was wanting to tip but it was definitely not. Not saying this is uncommon in business or illegal, but noticing the large amount only after the transaction is made and then a patron asking their consumer "you know that it already charged an gratuity tip?" Would not recommend. I ordered take-out from El Mariachi for my family and myself, and upon returning home discovered that my order was incomplete. I ordered Texas Fajitas and they had not included any of the toppings...no rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomato. Got an order for take out, 4 chicken burritos and a taco salad. Order came out to $30, a little high but would have been fine if the food hadn't been so disappointing. First these chicken burritos, if you can even call them that. Tiny, like taco bell dollar menu tiny. Literally only chicken inside of them, no rice, no beans, no veggies, just chicken and some red sauce that made the tortilla super soggy. The taco salad was also way smaller than you would expect for $8, and was 80% beans and lettuce with very little meat and cheese. Nothing was very well seasoned, everything was soggy. I went to this place after seeing it had 4 stars. Sadly disappointed. When we arrived, we noticed that it is a hole in the wall place. My parents enjoy hole in the wall places because many times they have good food. When we were seated, my parents asked for spicy salsa. They did not bring us the spicy salsa and we had to ask twice. The chips and the salsas (normal and spicy) were both decent. I ordered a Quesodilla San Jose (Quesodilla with meat and cheese) and my parents split Carne y Chorizo. We dug in, only to find out that it was extremely salty. I couldn't finish my Quesodilla and my dad couldn't finish his portion. When we got the bill, they also added the spicy salsa onto the bill, which other Mexican Restaurants (like Gran Ranchero). They also did not list the total on the bill which was quite surprising.
