Mi familia y yo hemos sido clientes fieles desde hace muchos años y siempre hemos recibido un servicio excelente por parte de las cajeras y otros trabajadores. Como somos consumidores habituales de mariscos, estoy segura de que los camarones no estaban en buen estado. Decidimos regresar a la tienda para pedir un cambio. Las señoritas del frente fueron muy amables y nos indicaron que habláramos con el encargado de los mariscos. Cuando hablé con él, me dijo de manera muy grosera que los camarones estaban bien y que yo no sabía nada sobre camarones comparado con él, que trabaja ahí todos los días. Aunque finalmente accedió a cambiarlos, lo hizo de mala gana y me dijo que no me haría más cambios ni me daría reembolsos en el futuro. Me sentí muy ofendida y apenada por su actitud y tono de voz. Debido a esta experiencia, he decidido no volver a comprar camarones en su tienda. First of all, why haven't all of Fresno Yelp'ers tried this restaurant and given it a review? I was looking for al pastor in Fresno after recently trying, Tacos El Gordo in Chula Vista and Leo's Tacos in Los Angeles. Who would've guessed that fresh al pastor off the spit would be so hard to find in Fresno. Especially with our deep Hispanic roots. I'm a regular at Don Pepe's because of their al pastor (and spicy shrimp tacos) :o Anyways, when I reached out to my friends and asked where to find some spit roasted al pastor here in Fresno, besides DP. I was sent to El Mercado Super. Sure, this is a small fast casual restaurant inside a grocery store. But that doesn't make it any less appealing, it might make it more appealing. Now on to the Tacos Al Pastor. The meat was sold, fresh, and hot. But it needed salt. But the hand made fresh tortilla made to order made up for the slightly bland pork. It is a grocery store and restaurant with a small sitting area. They are the busiest on the weekend so it was a bit tight but not too bad. It is really clean and has a good grocery store selection regardless of the store being small. I ordered food and let me just say it was the best I've had in Fresno including my horchata drink. They make fresh tortillas as you order and all their meats are well seasoned. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family, and I'll definitely be returning to try out something else on their menu. read more

Best little stand! Love their tacos, the corn tortillas are so soft and moist. I am pretty sure they home make the dough. All their meats are delicious, you cannot go wrong! These tacos are made with love - these people are passionate about food and it shines through. Tortas are also delicious with a thick slice of queso fresco and avocado. AL PASTOR! When done right, it's one beautiful and delicious taco. Here at El Mercado Super, it is indeed done right. Slabs of pork marinated in chiles and spices, spit roasted with pineapple until charred and insanely delicious. A bit smoky and a bit sweet. Each time I've visited, the pastor has been freshly sliced to order and tucked inside soft, warm corn tortillas. None of this pre-cut, drying away in a steam table stuff. Can't explain the feeling I get when I see tortillas made fresh in front of me. That's just the beginning of what pulled me towards having to try the tacos. Salsa bar is a very good thing also in my book. The real highlight is the cabeza, soft and flavorful which comes together perfectly with the homemade tortillas. This place has been raided by ICE recently and had 12 out of it's 14 employees quit mysteriously before the government could get involved. The produce is taken from the lowest price possible and they do not care about freshness. I love their Sopes! I used to crave El Cochinito Contento's Sopes but when I tried the sopes here I never looked back! The older gentleman who sings & yells alot makes them the best. He usually yells in spanish "Welcome, come to this side!" "PASALE, PASALE, PASALE!!!" Something like that. Anyways he seems to prepare the food in the best way.....with Amor. :) All good.
