It did take about 30-45 minutes to be seen by a doctor but the nurses were very attentive and checked up on me during the waiting time, gave me a blanket and made sure i was comfortable. The doctor addressed all my concerns and i felt better within 24 hours after visiting. I will definitely recommend friends and family to this care.

I came during emergency room hours for an antibiotic resistant UTI in excruciating pain. The doctor genuinely seemed to have something against me from the start. I was placed in a hallway plastic chair where I sat for 1.5 hours before the doctor even spoke to me. Two different patients that had come into the waiting room after me were treated and discharged before I even saw the doctor. When she finally came over to speak with me, she was short, didn't listen, and would speak over me as I was trying to explain my situation and symptoms. She told me that "azo is available over the counter" when I asked for a pyridiam prescription. I was in tears because of how I felt completely mistreated and misunderstood. She then had to go get an HR lady in order to continue speaking with me because I was "raising my voice". I continued to explain my level of pain and how I fear this has progressed to a kidney infection. She basically told me I was out of luck until they get results from the culture back and that I just need to take advil and tylenol (which I had already maxed out on with no relief). I told her that this is just unacceptable and that I need relief because I can't sit, lay down, sleep, or do anything without being in immense pain. She said verbatim, this is an ER. I treat life or death emergencies. You need to see a specialist." I then explained my medical history AGAIN and how I have seen specialists. She literally said, "well then I don't know what to tell you but I did write you a prescription for pyridiam." After she walked away, three different staff members came up separately and apologized to me for her behavior. One of them slid me a business card for the patient relations representative and told me "please contact them about your experience". I will NEVER go here again. Heading to the hospital now to hopefully get some help.

So I went on a Thursday at about 1pm and was out of the ER by 2:30pm. I interacted with a lovely, blonde lady at the front desk, 3 nurses, Dr. Oscislawski, and an X-ray tech. Everyone was pleasant, professional and respectful. Very different experience than at another local ER I've been to. The thing about Yelp is have to consider that people are hurt and sick and if the care is not as expected, they will more than likely write a review if they felt they received poor care. And that is not to diminish anyone's lived experience. But how many will write reviews to praise staff and their experience? Interestingly, the X-ray machine was brought to my room (the gentleman explained that it's because my issue was smaller and could be done this way but won't apply for every x-ray). The kind woman at the front desk (I hate that her name escapes me now), came to my room and asked for my payment, which I thought was odd. Perhaps, a portable credit card machine might be a better option here. No disrespect to her but I'm not letting anyone take my credit/debit card out of my sight. So I just paid after I was discharged and leaving. The lobby was empty so that might not always be an efficient way to do it for them. For me, my issue was not life-threatening but I was handled with care and will definitely be bypassing the other ER for a better experience at Abrazo.

Nobody would inform me as to what's going on and why it was taking so long for me to be seen. They just managed to say oh we're extremely busy in the back however I saw people come and go that came in after me. One lady you made a comment oh my God she's still here pointing at me. The PA was the most horrible vile person I have ever met in my life when I finally did get called back to a bed it was not for triage. I directly asked the PA to help me as I was in severe pain and I was sick. I was not hostile nor was I in any way shape or form threatening. The next thing I know I have a security guard standing at the foot of my bed saying that I was complained about by the PA. It was extremely annoying and very rude and unnecessary. The security guard left after I explained the situation to him. Next thing I know I'm being taken back out to the waiting room where I sat for two more hours over in pain and vomiting. I was the only one in the entire emergency room. I watched people leave that I had seen come in after me the excuse that they didn't have a bed was a complete lie. After hours of again, waiting in the emergency room, I was taken back to a bed and nothing was done for me except a blood draw. The PA would not come and talk to me and the nurse was nonexistent. I went for a CT scan where they found. I had a kidney stone and a kidney infection. These findings were dismissed by the PA as she barely spoke to me, walking by my room telling me that they would culture my urine for the kidney infection to see what bacteria it would grow. Meanwhile, I left in extreme pain was given a shot of Zofran for the nausea after 4 1/2 going on five hours now, then just discharged. Does anybody know of a good lawyer who handles men malpractice cases?

Fabulous surgeon, but horrible nursing care…read more The staff and doctors in the surgical center were tremendous. They treated the patient with concern, expertise, and respect. Once I was moved to the room, the staff treated me like an inconvenience. One nurse told me she didn't have time to get me pain relief "because she has four other patients". My doctor ordered the pain relief heating pads, but they could not find any of the entire night. I was treated with disrespect, condescending attitudes, ignored, neglected, and Treated with cruelty from the nursing staff overnight. I do have all of the specific issues documented and would be happy to share if it would make a difference to even one patient. Even the hospitalist made it clear it was a bad decision to have the surgery. My surgeon and his staff were outstanding and stopped by regularly to make sure that I was doing well. I think they were as horrified as I was by my treatment. Since I am deaf, I was also discriminated against, and that helped the nursing staff justify ignoring me. The Friday morning staff was superior, but I'm sure that the charge nurse had updated them on the torture, I experienced the previous afternoon and night. I was told someone would be reaching back out to me, but I have heard nothing in just short of a month. My surgeon has reached out multiple times and if it wasn't for his staff, I would describe Boswell as a disgrace. Dr. Brossard is amazing and he shows how caring, concerned and critical patient care should be. Dr. Broussard and his staff are excellent communicators and made sure I knew it was going on every step of the way. The treatment from the nursing staff was just the opposite and there were several patients that felt that we were just inconveniences. The nurses never even got me up to walk, which was supposedly critical to my recovery. After all, they had four other patients. I am terrorized that this is the hospital in my community. I am so grateful for Dr. Broussard and his staff and they're carrying nature as well as his expertise.

When the doctor finally came back, he told my wife she had cancer on the liver with metastasis. We were absolutely terrified. He scared us beyond words. We decided to get a second opinion at another hospital. Come to find out, they were hemangiomas -- completely benign. No cancer at all. That older doctor had no business delivering a devastating diagnosis like that without being sure of what he was reading. He should be retired. On top of the emotional nightmare they put us through, the bill came in at $41,000 -- and we're stuck paying $3,000 out of pocket. It feels like they were just running the clock and ordering unnecessary outside services to charge the insurance company as much as possible. It's outrageous, and it's no wonder insurance costs keep going up for everyone. Do not go to this emergency room. It is hands down the worst. Between the misdiagnosis that had us believing my wife was dying and the astronomical bill for incompetent care, I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

The one nurse, I didn't like her demeanor but I understand she was trying to help me as well as do her job, but I was laboring fast and could barely even move. It wasn't my first baby, I have had WAY better experiences elsewhere but I also have all my kids in a different state.. the maternity ward is significantly outdated , rooms ran down and super small. The food was nasty. Other than the one nurses demeanor the rest of the staff and nurses I had were very friendly. I had my son within barely a hour after arriving to the hospital so they weren't able to see what labs I had or hadn't had while I was pregnant, come to find out one test I should've had when I was pregnant wasn't order by the doctor so I had to get the test ran after my son was born and I had to stay a extra day due to waiting on getting the lab results back. I had no issues during the labor process itself, honestly one of my easiest, fastest labors but probably because I arrived at the hospital at 8 cm basically ready to already push. I explained to them that unfortunately I was uninsured and unemployed, but I was wondering if they could provide treatment because I had severe pain all over my body after being in a 3 vehicle collision just an hour ago. The receptionist said yes, and they led us to the back. After they took my vitals, I was informed that I would need to pay a $600 deposit before leaving and I would be billed the rest. I explained that I didnt have $600, which is why I had explained my situation upon arrival. They told me I would be charged the $600 regardless of whether I stayed or not because they were already providing the service (taking my vitals), so that I might as well stay. I was made to feel like I had no choice to I started calling relatives to ask if I could possibly borrow the money. I was advised to leave and decline services, so I politely informed them I wanted to leave and they could bill me the $600 later but I didn't want to stay. On my way out I overheard the receptionist tell the nurse that she HAD told me about the $600 upfront cost, so I turned around and corrected her. I reminded her she, in fact, had not. Why would I accept a service I knew I couldn't afford ? She then snapped back and me and basically recanted her earlier claim to the nurse by saying, "We are not LEGALLY OBLIGATED to inform you of any costs, only to provide you care." I told her it wasn't fair to disclose to patients that there is an upfront cost until AFTER it's too late to deny the charge. They deliberately waited until they took my vitals to inform me of upfront cost. She insisted that she did nothing wrong as she was following the law, and I walked out. Please don't go to this location. Do not trust people like this with your health. Taking advantage of people needing this critical service is a disgrace. Beware
